One of those days :(
My PC decided to go on the fritz and I worked on it all day. Finally threw up my hands and went back to an older pc that I had. Managed to get the most important stuff off so I can continue working. Spent another few hours loading apps I need. ARRRGH!
On the plus side, I’ve got the independant EPUB creation down pat now. Went from 5-6 hours on the first one to about 45 min on the 4th one. The key is having the Word Doc be SMASHWORDABLE — I understand why the Smashwords style guide is so finicky.

These are FREE at B&N, Sony, Smashwords, IBook Store, etc. I did everything I could think of to get AMAZON to make them free also. I flagged the lower price on the book pages of my books with 5-10 links from the different stores hoping to get Amazon to price match. I wrote AMAZON and asked about making them free. I was told they didn’t make books free, but I could have 5 free days if I pulled my books out of all the other stores and signed up for the Select program. I replied back with half a dozen links of free books that had been free for months. I got back an answer that said they do make books free occasionally and they might even do mine. Swell. So, anyone who wants, PLEASE go download my FREE EBOOKS from the other sites. And while you’re there, buy a few other books to support the folks who are reasonable. Don’t get me wrong, I love Amazon, and have been a huge fan and consumer. I am just miffed at them right now.
ALSO, thru AMAZON SELECT, My EBOOK HOTWIFE AND THE HAPPY CUCKOLD is free 29th and 30th — whoops — I screwed the pooch on that one. I thought this was 28th.

I haven’t been able to spend as much time as I’d like working on my writing. I dream of someday being able to convert over to that full time. Alas, unless a few thousand more fans drop by to order a 6-pack of my books each month, that is going to be a long way off.
I am creating EPUBS and other formats for some of my books so that I can upload them to other sales channels. I finished creating my first EPUB, that tale is described here.
Still, I’m pleased and grateful to all of you who have tossed a few bucks my way to read my stories and tales. It means a lot.
I had a happy fathers day. I hope all of you did also.

I got the idea about Jaylene from a true account of a village threatened by bandits in the 1600′s. It wasn’t Barbarians but it was Bandits,
UG! Frustrated with Amazon Author Central editor.
When you look at the fancy book descriptions on Amazon, with color and large sized text, and pictures. Well it’s not for you if you use the Author central editor. In fact, if you use it, it apparently locks you out of being able to do the other stuff. More about that as I find out more.
When you use the editor, it has two tabs, compose and html.
Compose is a visual text editor similar to the WordPress editor Visual tab. The HTML tab is similar to the WordPress Text Tab. It shows the text and HTML tags. You can swap back and forth to see the effect that your HTML edits have on the Compose (visual) window, and visa versa. All is good so far. I entered the HTML tags to make my headings larger and a different color. When I checked them out everything looked great. THEN when I hit submit, all kinds of weird stuff happened. The result was post processed and all text size and color changes went away, but the rest of the text got futzed up as well.
To make a long story short, the submission is post processed and the “undesirable tags” are stripped out. I could live with that, but the post processor adds gratitous tags that totally futz up the remaining text. If part of your text is bolded, it adds HTML tags at the bottom of the file to make everything bold. And it adds tags in the middle of the text as well. It took about ten edits to get things looking halfway normal. I sent an email to Amazon asking for info on how to do the color and larger text size stuff and they told me that the changes were made thru KDP or publisher account, not Author Central. SO, I asked how to make the changes using KDP or publisher account. We’ll see what happens from here. I read somewhere that once you make an edit in Author Central, you cannot edit thru KDP anymore so you’re locked in to using the buggy editor in Author Central. Sigh. There’s so much to learn about this stuff. I will probably post the email responses once I find out more.

Writers Block and Other Things
Hello
Sorry I haven’t been posting regularly. Unfortunately, REAL LIFE keeps intruding.
In my fantasy land I would do nothing but write and publish. But there are the harsh realities like PAYING bills and making the cash to do that. Which unfortunately, is not with my writing. At least not yet. Maybe never.
When I published my first e-book, I had this fantasy that people would find it and rave about it. But now, harsh reality has set in. That didn’t happen,
However, if you decide to rush out and buy a copy of each one of my books and post glowing 5 star reviews for each.one, I will be eternally grateful. And keep writing more.
New Theme
I changed my theme. The old one had washed out text on my screen and I got tired of looking at it and squinting. If there was any way to change the text color for the blog, I could not figure out how. Changing themes was pretty easy to do. Just one press of a button and it chugged for a few moments and presto! New theme.
Partial Writers Block….
It’s easy to write action scenes and sex scenes, but it takes work and thought and perseverance to grind through the interconnecting bits.
I’m reminded of one of my friends who was complaining about dating. The meeting and the wooing on the front end are necessary parts of the relationship, you cannot just start with jumping into bed. Hmmm. At least not in real life…. Hmmm…. at least not for free … Hmmm…. ok, there are hookup sites … Hmmm. … I meant for a real long-term relationship SIGH…. I think I’m getting off topic…
Still the interconnecting bits are necessary to the story.
I get stalled, partly because it’s no fun, and partly because I struggle with relevance, not wanting to bore my reader with too much or not enough detail.
I have about 10 stories that I have in that state. I am working my way through them one by one.
New Stories
I have another new story that is percolating its way through the Amazon Review Process called Miriam – Breaking Free. It’s a paranormal suspense/romance story.It’s based on an idea I had about harsh realities and what might happen to someone with really strong capabilities.
I published a new story on Amazon. It’s called the “Hotwife and the Happy Cuckold.” it’s available here. I am considering making it Amazon only, but am not sure. I used the Amazon cover creator on it, so if I publish elsewhere, I’ll need to get a new cover made.
I wish Smashwords would toss together a cover creator for their site. I’ll bet it wouldn’t cost that much and would probably pay for itself in increased sales. The one at amazon only has about 10 basic covers. I’d love to be in charge of that one with a reasonable budget.

Passive Voice
When I write, I tend to use passive voice about half the time. Thanks to the grammar checker, (Dammit!) it is a struggle to rewrite things to make it happy. sometimes i just say stuff it and tell the danged thing to ignore that passage.
Spiffing Up My Site
I made a resolution to spend at least an hour a week on my site. Today is SPIFF UP MY SITE day.

New E-Book out

It’s about what the title implies. It has lots of explicit details.
I am debating trying the 90 day kindle kdp select to see how that goes.
It seems like limiting visibility, but i’ve heard that the pot for free prime readers pays pretty good. People are more willing to take a chance on free ebooks.
