There's More to the Story

The “Vitamin D Treatment” ends dramatically, and yes, there’s more to the story. Seduced by a primal instinct beyond their control, their relationship heats up and takes an unexpected turn as Jed and Olivia are forced to flee the country. When they return, Jed’s decadent past tests their love and one secret will remain buried forever.

Action-packed and filled with surprising twists, dark revelations and more erotic encounters, the couple’s flight takes them to Jamaica, Brazil and New York, and their future is threatened by new and old secondary characters that are determined to keep them apart.

As yet untitled, the estimated date of publication is September or October 2013.

Get to Know Me

As a new self-published author, I’m learning quickly I’m out of my league in the marketing department, and I’m grateful to Goodreads for providing a platform for writers.

I published my first novel “The Vitamin D Treatment” four months ago using my real name “Julia Bramer”, although everyone calls me “Julie”. It’s sort of a joke because I haven’t told my 81-year-old mother what I’m up to, sure she’ll be shocked that I’m writing erotic romance novels, and I thought I would go “incognito”–hoping she doesn’t put two and two together just in case anyone in her circle comes across the book, like my 85-year-old aunt who’s a voracious reader.

I’ve been asked why I chose to write erotica, and to be honest, I had no idea it was possible to publish graphic sexual content until the Fifty Shades of Grey series, which was an exhilarating read and really got my juices flowing! What better way to spend a hot summer day at the beach or a rainy weekend, right ladies? My husband is very supportive because he’s a witness to the benefits of the genre (ha!), and although erotic romance is not his thing, preferring “Lincoln” and “Mark Twain”, he read “The Vitamin D Treatment” and commented at one point “my dick is sore just reading it”, which I take as a compliment.

In the four months since it was published, I’ve received two reviews on Goodreads and four on Amazon, and it gives me goose bumps each time! The reviews range from “seriously hot” to “corny”, and I truly appreciate each review. Obviously, I can’t expect everyone to like the book, but my hope is to give readers a pleasurable experience by presenting a good story, engaging characters and lots and lots of sex!

I first published on Amazon and BN in eBook format and then added a paperback option, but the book is available only at Amazon right now due to my participation in KDP Select until August 25th. I’ve sold a whopping 35 copies and given away 500, which brings me back to the marketing aspect of self-publishing. I loved writing the story, but it’s really hard to break through with all the choices available. Goodreads recommends writing a blog, so here I am.

“The Vitamin D Treatment” is available for $2.99 until the end of July, and my next blog will answer the question: Is there more to the Jed and Olivia love story?
