Leaving hometown and innocence behind, David traveled to distant lands by Ship, by Sky, and by Mind.

He returned from the journey with dangerous ideas, strange powder that explodes, and broken hearts (some parts of others’ got mixed in with his own). He keeps most of it locked in a wooden chest preserved with tar and strengthened with iron bands and padlocks.

Now a double agent – he travels to multiple dimensions, foreign lands, and other worlds using wits, fists, and technological gadgets to collapse the evil Overlord’s organization from within.

Sometimes he’ll find wisdom and share it. Sometimes he’ll find gold and various treasures that shimmer in the light – he keeps most of that for himself and his crew (hey, nobody’s perfect).

Hate Hearing ‘No’? How to Deal With Rejection From Strangers

Are the 'No's' Your're hearing right now even QUALIFIED to get you down_‘No’ sucks.

In my life, I’ve heard that word way more often than Yes.

The word No is, for me, like stairs are for the Kung Fu Panda: Unpleasant, and there are way too many of them.

Example: During one of my nine sales attempts (each lasting for 2-6 months), I sold credit card processing services. During that 6-month time, I’ve heard the word No over 7000 times, and heard the word Yes… MAYBE fiv...

Vintage Muggeridge by Malcolm Muggeridge
“So the final conclusion would surely be that whereas other civilizations have been brought down by attacks of barbarians from without, ours had the unique distinction of training its own destroyers at its own educational institutions, and then providing them with facilities for propagating their destructive ideology far and wide, all at the public expense. Thus did Western Man decide to abolish himself, creating his own boredom out of his own affluence, his own vulnerability out of his own strength, his own impotence out of his own erotomania, himself blowing the trumpet that brought the walls of his own city tumbling down, and having convinced himself that he was too numerous, labored with pill and scalpel and syringe to make himself fewer. Until at last, having educated himself into imbecility, and polluted and drugged himself into stupefaction, he keeled over--a weary, battered old brontosaurus--and became extinct.”

A lot of info is repeated, but the book goes further in depth on the areas it promises to, more or less.

I'm going through an Altucher phase, so I'll probably list a few more of his works in the near future.

James Altucher has a brutally honest look at the world, the future as he sees it, and his own past.

The result is a book that challenges the preconceived notions of work and even entrepreneurship - all while giving you the idea that you can do this.

Has a great premise, and excellent settings.

I just think the book began with so many open threads that it took too long for everything to connect. Seriously, our hero didn't even know who the bad guy was - and had never met him - until the last 100 p

“Patience is the calm acceptance that things can happen in a different order than the one you have in mind.”
David G. Allen

“[on the Victim Mentality] It takes a great level of intelligence to maintain a thinking process as stupid as this. Because it is such a great undertaking, we take pride in it. It highlights our intellect. Too bad it also highlights our lack of wisdom. For all our twisting, wringing, stretching, and stuffing, we only contort ourselves.”
David G. Allen

“For me, not knowing your theme until your finished is like using a scalpel to turn a kangaroo into Miss Universe – there will be a lot of deep cuts, and there’s a high chance it won’t work.”

“There are times in my life when I have been medicine for some while poison for others. I used to think I was a victim of my story until I realized the truth; that I am the creator of my story. I choose what type of person I will be and what type of impact I will leave on others. I will never choose the destructive path of self and outward victimization again.”
Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience
