Miss Wilde -
I am so, so sorry for not responding to this - I never saw the message as I'm not often on Goodreads, and now it looks like it's a year old so probably far too late. Still, it's wonderful to hear that the Y6 readers got so much out of Eren and felt inspired - I really am sorry that I didn't have a chance to answer any questions. If you do ever want to get in contact, my e-mail address is simonphilipclark@gmail.com. If any of your readers do want to get in touch I am more than happy to help. It's always rewarding to hear that teachers and classes have found Eren and read it together!

I think it's fair to say that I have not been keeping this place very active, but I'm back, I've changed a few things around (see my swanky new Books and Other Writing sections? Yeah) and I'm getting back to posting. Most important of all - I have a new book out this week. Not Yet Dark has been a long time coming (sorry) but I am very excited about it, and can't wait for readers to get their ha... Read more of this blog post »

More of Simon's books…
“A Book Keeper! Gods of the word, they are. Finest of the brave. You know, it's them that keep books, (he says) that know things in the end.”
Simon P. Clark, Eren

“As long as there's people, there's tales.”
Simon P. Clark, Eren

“The thing – was he a bat? – was too huge to see. His wings merged into the shadows, his shape too fuzzy to make out. He grinned at me with small, sharp teeth and darkness whirled around him. He cocked his head and bowed it slightly. "Once upon a time," he said, "a boy dreamed, and all his wishes came true. Once upon a time, old things woke up, and magic – real magic – came back into the world.”

“For masterpieces are not single and solitary births; they are the outcome of many years of thinking in common, of thinking by the body of the people, so that the experience of the mass is behind the single voice.”

He shrugged again.
"Something," he said. "Something like you, something like a beast, something like a bird, something like an angel." He laughed. "Something like that.”
