I've always loved Calamity Jane (who doesn't?), but I like Pillow Talk and Move Over Darling too, even though they have their silly bits. Please Don't Eat The Daisies is also a favourite, because the husband and wife relationship really works for me in that one.(less)

You're right - it's a competitive industry to be in, but just because it's tough, it doesn't mean you can't break though. I thought I might be seriously nuts thinking I could write a book that someone else would want to publish, but I went ahead and wrote one anyway, and I'm usually not a bit risk taker.

I always say that being a writer is a bit like being on a rollercoaster: there are ups and downs - and I've had plenty of both in my 12 years of being published: times when I was sure my career had just been flushed down the toilet and times when I felt I was on top of the world. I just have to believe that, even when I'm in one of the 'down' patches, that if I just keep going, eventually I will start to go 'up' again, and things oftenhave a funny way of working out. The only way I'm not going to get there is if I give up and get off the train. The only answer I can really give you is that you need to believe in yourself, ignore the statistics and dream big. "The Last Goodbye by Fiona Lucas deserved 4.5 strong stars rounded down from 5 stars in my opinion. I listened to the audiobook of The Last Goodbye by Fiona Lucas. It was expertly narrated by Antonia Beamish. Fiona Lucas had written other books under " Read more of this review »
The Last Goodbye by Fiona Lucas
"This book was right up my alley and I genuinely think if it gets a little steam marketing-wise, it will be a big hit. It has a strong One Day in December, In Five Years, or The Two Lives of Lydia Bird feel to it. Only thing it is missing seems to be " Read more of this review »

“What I’m saying is that you can’t run from it for ever, pretending you’ll always have another chance. Life doesn’t always work that way. Sometimes you’ve got to be brave and grab it while it’s there in front of you.”
Fiona Harper, Make My Wish Come True

“He’d told himself that he was brave because he liked climbing high walls and tramped through rain forests and knew how to deal with leeches and ticks, but this was where it counted. Here. In this drab city hospital. This was where he would prove he was a man or not.”
Fiona Harper, The Guy to Be Seen With
