Train up

May is for mother’s and graduations, seedlings and birds frantically feeding and nesting, all things pointing to life. Train up a child…Proverbs 22:6 And yet for many, in the midst of emerging, emerald green foliage is the heavy weight of ambivalence. For many the life changes and celebrations just plain hurt. “All I have is broken.
Broken mends best.”
Amy K. Sorrells, How Sweet the Sound

“There’s always letting go to do here on earth, Jaycee. But the Lord, he never lets go. And because of him, we never have to either.”
Amy K. Sorrells, Before I Saw You

“You don’t go on as much as you change direction. And which direction you take, that part’s up to you. One way leads to forgiveness and peace. The other leads down a road of bitterness. Can’t turn back from bitterness. Not very often, anyway.”
Amy K. Sorrells, How Sweet the Sound

“The love of learning, the sequestered nooks,
And all the sweet serenity of books”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

“Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life, and it is the main obstacle between you and a shitty first draft. I think perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping-stone just right, you won't have to die. The truth is that you will die anyway and that a lot of people who aren't even looking at their feet are going to do a whole lot better than you, and have a lot more fun while they're doing it.”
