Cristelle Comby was born and raised in the French-speaking area of Switzerland, in Greater Geneva, where she still resides.

She attributes to her origins her ever-peaceful nature and her undying love for chocolate. She has a passion for art, which also includes an interest in drawing and acting.

She is the author of the Neve & Egan Cases series, which features an unlikely duo of private detectives in London: Ashford Egan, a blind History professor, and Alexandra Neve, one of his students.

Currently, she is hard at work on her Urban Fantasy series Vale Investigation which chronicles the exploits of Death’s only envoy on Earth, PI Bellamy Vale, in the fictitious town of Cold City, USA.

While I come from a pretty average family, there is a bit of a mystery on my mother’s side of the family. One of her brothers passed away in the early 80’s. They found his body in a lake. But he wasn’t really close to the rest of his siblings at the time, so no one really knows what happened or if it was foul play. Guess if I had the time and means to investigate, I would love to solve that mystery. Who knows, the answer might make for a nice story...(less)

Great narration, but the story is a bit all-over the place.

The Law was much better than the last two books, with smaller stakes and more character interaction. I hope the next books will continue in this vein, with Harry solving cases using magic.

After such a long wait, this story left a bitter aftertaste.
Guess, I’m too fond of the earlier books with Private Investigator Harry Dresden solving whacky cases.

Sure, it’s good of an author to want to up the stakes and expand the world... but these

I have greatly enjoyed the first Strikes books, but it’s been going downhill fast. Troubled Blood was waaay too long and not that interesting. I thought surely this one couldn’t be worse, so I gave the Ink Black Heart a go—what a mistake.

“When a man is standing at the top of a cliff, it isn’t fear of falling that keeps him rooted to the edge — it’s the fear of not being able to resist the desire to jump, just to see what falling feels like.”
Cristelle Comby, Russian Dolls

“Life is short, precious, and should not be wasted.
Everyone has a chance at it. We’re equals after all.
There are no pawns, no kings, and no queens.
We’re all humans and we all have the same value.”
Cristelle Comby, Blind Chess

“As darkness falls and sleep pulls at me, I wonder, not for the first time, about life and death. Both are real and neither would exist without the other. They balance each other, as do night and day. Hot and cold. Summer and winter.
Some people struggle with this concept. At times, they even forget all about it. But if you remember just one thing, let it be this: life always balances itself out.
For every bad guy out there, there is someone equally good to make things right again.”
Cristelle Comby, Blind Chess

“I’ve always believed that, as long as we’re left alone to do what we’re good at, and be who we’ve decided to be, things will turn out all right in the end. Now, me being strapped to a chair, unable to see what is going on, and Egan coming to the rescue, carrying a freaking bomb. That is not — by a mile — all right.”
