"Dead dog" project for props

For the current show, Assassins, painter/dyer Denise Dietrich and I wound up lending a hand to our props department and creating a "dead dog."

In one scene of the show, the character of Sarah Jane Moore has a dead dog in her handbag, which she takes out and drops on the ground. Our fake dog needed to be realistic-looking, and to have the weight and limpness of, well, a dead dog.

Simple armor projects

We've been busy with USITT and production on Assassins , but some of my students presented simple armor projects today. Here are some photos!

Winged/flame-inspired arm guards by first-year Erin Abbenante.
These were made from foam and craft felt, with the intent of creating an
extremely lightweight armor item suitable for a dance performance.

Masks and Armor class: Final Mask Projects Part Two!

Three more projects from my students, these being grouped together as "not-bigheads."
