Reblog Saturday – A patchwork quilt of colour and patterns that comforts and inspires.
Reblog Saturday time! It’s Sunday you say? Well…. :D

The analogy I use for blogging is the patchwork quilt. Community based quilting groups that come together regularly to stitch a part of their lives, in the form of odd scraps of cloth, into a warm and colourful comforter for any bed in the house.
During the course of designing and completing the project there is talking, laughter, gossip and advice passed on through generations. There might be slight disagreements over some of the individual pieces of the quilt but ultimately everybody works together until the final stitch. For the recipient of the finished quilt there is an obligation to care for it for a lifetime and then to pass onto someone else to love and cherish. For those who participated in the project there is a feeling of closeness, support and love with others and a desire to begin a new project as soon as…

Anthology to Raise Money For Guide Dogs – A Further Update
Originally posted on newauthoronline:
I posted on 17 September regarding my idea to raise money for the Guide Dogs For The Blind Association (GDBA) by producing an anthology of stories and poems, (http://newauthoronline.com/2014/09/17/possible-anthology-to-raise-money-for-guide-dogs/). Many thanks to everyone who reblogged and agreed to provide material. I have now received the first story from Sally Cronin, (http://smorgasbordinvitation.wordpress.com/), – Many thanks Sally! A big thank you also goes to Dave Higgins for his kindness in agreeing to edit the anthology free of charge.
The anthology is still in need of contributors. If you haven’t already agreed to contribute and would like to do so please contact me at newauthoronline (@) gmail . com (the address is rendered thus to try and defeat spammers).
Many thanks,

A Note Was Found At The Airport That Said “Read Me.”
Originally posted on Kindness Blog:
A man came across a folded piece of paper while he was at San Francisco airport that said ‘read me‘ on the front. How could anyone possibly resist that invitation? He knew he just had to look. So, he did.
And what he discovered inside was surprising and wonderful…
This is what was inside… (scroll down to read a typed up version)
“I recently left an emotionally abusive relationship After months of insults I wont repeat, false accusations, lies, delusions, broken mirrors, nightly battles…. I left. I know that I was being poisoned by each day that I stayed. So with a heavy heart, I left my lover of three years, knowing that I had already put it off too long. At first he begged, then he cursed, but eventually he packed his bags and faded out of my life like a bad dream.
For the first few weeks, my…

The Rules
Originally posted on Lit World Interviews:
Jo RobinsonA lot of indie authors are pretty rigid with their writing rules. There’s nothing wrong with this when it’s your style, and self-imposed. You’ll have problems though if rigid rules don’t fit well with your character, and you’ve only inflicted them on yourself because a successful and well known writer said that that’s what you should be doing if you ever want to succeed. “Must” is often the word lurking behind procrastination in any field, and when it comes to creative souls, I believe it could shut down production pretty well.
The minute we’re told we must do something, our subconscious goes into overdrive bombarding us with all the ways we could fail, and settles like a lump in your mind, effectively blocking all those wonderful sentences that had been champing at the bit to leap onto your pages. This fear can be good in small doses. When…

Here’s Your Chance to Support an Author Who Avidly Supports Many Other Authors
Charles Yallowitz is the author of the truly excellent Legends of Windemere series, and always finds the time to support other writers in lots of ways, so now’s the time to give some love back, and at the same time find out how Thunderclap works by being part of the process.

He is a huge supporter of fellow authors. I see him supporting other authors with reblogs, author interviews, group involvement, active comments, and much more. On top of that, he openly shares his marketing and writing tips on his WordPress blog.
I’ve heard newbie authors mention how impressed they were that Charles interacted with them on their new blogs. He was an avid supporter when I launched Read Tuesday last year.
Although Charles is very busy writing and editing his books (and raising a family), he always finds time to support fellow authors.
So here is our chance to do something very small and easy to help show our gratitude.
(By the way, Charles doesn’t know that I’m writing this post. It’ll be a nice surprise.)
Charles has a Thunderclap promotion…

Welcome Jo Robinson to the LitWorldInterviews Team!
Jo RobinsonAs soon as I interviewed Jo I knew I needed her to join me on this adventure in helping authors be promoted and give her invaluable advice as a successful self published author. What makes someone a success? She is doing it and doing it and it’s her choice and she knows it inside and out. Her goal in may ways will be to help authors see how self publishing can be done by pointing them in the right direction while also giving her own tips on writing along the way. She brings a wealth of expertise in the self publishing arena as well as an author. I am blown away she said yes when asked to join up!
Thank you Jo for joining LitWorldInterviews!
Make sure to check out Jo’s site and her books as well.

Isn’t it time?
SO TRUE! Mother Theresa said to someone who reckoned he couldn’t help the whole world by himself that there was no need to help everyone, only one. Thanks for the reminder Chris.

As anyone who follows my blog knows, I indulge in the occasional RANT after something has rammed my tree and disturbed my usual peace loving nature.
The atrocities and disturbing events we hear on the news nowadays are not new.
They’ve been around for as long as Apes (especially Hominids) have existed.
What IS new is the ease with which these events are spread around the world for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.
In fact, even the deaf and blind are also aware of them through the ‘miracles’ of technology.
This is why I thought I’d share the quote below.
Not to upset or disturb anyone, but to remind everyone that YOU – YES – little YOU – CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Look around you at what Humanity has achieved.
Look around you and see what some ‘Human’ deviants are doing to destroy these…

Reviews of P.S. Bartlett’s Work
“More and more—whether it be my reaching my mid-40s or as an antidote for all of the flash and flimsiness of so much modern storytelling, I am compelled to tout the value of books like Bartlett’s.”
“Don’t get me wrong, here. This is still a fantasy story, but it is a very different sort of fantasy tale. It holds out a promise of some really interesting stories yet to come from a very promising new writer. If this is just her first book, I am really looking forward to seeing what Bartlett will come up with next!”
“I have just finished reading Fireflies and all I can say is it kept me so interested I had a hard time putting it down.”-auntmir
