Toying with Twitter and Fidgeting with Facebook

Ive been toying around with Twitter and Facebook to see if anything brings in different numbers in terms of sales. This has been an accidental experiment since it began during the 2 week break that my son had. Basically, I missed days or tried something to save time on what I was doing. Im going to do this as a list though because its hard to put my findings into any other form. As usual, this is only what Ive experienced and most of what I say could be different for others.

First some Twitter mechanics revelations:

Pinned tweets do not come up as pinned when using the phone app. So if you pinned a tweet last month and are depending on that then you will run into a small problem

Book Cover Design – The Law

Originally posted on :

The only way to ensure that you have a one hundred percent original, and copyright infringement free cover for your book is to either make it yourself with all your own images, or purchase a bespoke artwork, specifically created for you. Not everyone is inclined to create their own, and bespoke book covers are very expensive, so many Indies use images bought, or downloaded for free online. Before we actually use these covers, there are a couple of things that we need to know.

All photos and images found online are automatically protected by copyright. If you download any picture without permission or payment, thinking that if you just fiddle with it a bit and change it with a bit of judicious rendering you are infringing on the copyright of its owner, and could find yourself in quite a bit of expensive trouble. Even if you didnt know this when

Obesity Surgery vs. Funding for Breast Cancer patients! – Frustration and Anger

Originally posted on Smorgasbord - Variety is the spice of life:

I try to have a balanced and open minded approach to my blog posts but there are days when I simply feel the need to write about my frustrations

Yesterday in my Gentle Detox post, I commented on the increase in obesity surgery that is being performed by the NHS in the UK to the tune of 85million pounds a year in 2012.

I call it surgically implanted willpower and have done for many years leading to quite a bit of debate from the obese lobby who feel that the condition should be labelled a disability. I feel that I am quite entitled to comment, since I myself was mobidly obese at almost 24 stone 20 years ago and lost 11 stone naturally over 18 months. Having been there and done it I know that it is a huge challenge and keeping it off requires constant attention.

However, I got

My second review of the year – why it means so much to me.

jorobinson176:

I’ve finished and reviewed Sally’s Size Matters. Sally is my very good friend, but I never EVER allow friendship to have any bearing whatsoever on any book that I read. I have been overly chubby at times in my life – I think most of us have, and I wish that I could have found this book back then, rather than get up to some of the crazy diets I’ve been on. Size Matters covers every single thing that you could ever need to lose a lot of weight, keep it off, and extend your life. This is probably an odd thing to say, but it’s a “comforting” book – you feel that Sally is with you on your trip, because she’s been on it herself. Her honest sharing of her own journey is remarkable. Now I’ll shut up – in fact this is the only review that I’ve ever written that I had to prune down because it got way too long. From a health and wellness perspective everyone should read this, regardless of whether there’s extra poundage or not.

I have been writing now officially for 17 years since 1998, when I began the journal that was to become my first published book in 2002 with Trafford Publishing in Canada, and then for the last four editions with Moyhill Publishing.

As a print book it did quite well in the early days with plenty of Irish and UK media publicity and I was delighted. Obviously back in 2002 it was all print and the reach for the book was restricted to the UK and Ireland.

Recently seven of my books have been updated and are now in E-versions for Mobi and EPub, and I never would have imagined that 13 years after the initial publication, that Size Matters would see a new lease of life and be sold across the world on all of the major continents.

I mention this today because despite being a friend and a blogging

Book Review: Echoes of Narcissus in the Gardens of Delight

Order Echoes of Narcissus in the Gardens of Delight Now!

I posted about Echoes of Narcissus a short time ago. I hope youll read that post written by author Jo Robinson. I have since finished reading the book and wanted to review it. Its a phenomenal novel involving a woman with a secret-her husband is a cruel abusive man behind closed doors. Not physically abusive; she never displays bruises. But he has battered her emotionally, so completely, others in her situation have gone to desperate measures. Find out how she finds herself again and changes her life through a chance meeting that blossoms into something much more.

This will hold your interest as it did mine. I stayed up much too late a few nights to finish it. I loved this book, highly recommend it, and give it 5 stars out of 5.

Ive had massive problems with my internet again for a couple of days, so Im very sorry for being late with EVERYTHING now. Ill start getting caught up with everyone now, and then share the results of the book blog tour too. I loved it!

This is how hard my internet provider worked to assist. I shall say no more.

Pre-Gentle Detox Short Story – Albert, The Perfect Candidate!

jorobinson176:

Wow! I never thought that my lovely Sally could scare me, but she did with this cautionary tale. I quite like the thought that some day we’ll stop using animals to find ways out of the results of our excesses rather than just quitting the excesses.

Ahead of next weeks Gentle Detox which is designed to lead you into a healthier and lighter lifestyle for 2015 here is a little story about the world in the not too distant future! I am mean I know.

Albert, The Perfect Candidate

On Friday night, Albert sat in the white walled room, his eyes closed against the glare from the fluorescent lighting and his hands over his ears to shut out the infernal racket from the wall-mounted television. He did not have to watch the screen to see what images it displayed. Twenty-four hours a day, it brought the fear and disasters of the world into each room in every house and workplace around the country. Terrorism, financial and natural catastrophes and of course superbugs were all guaranteed to make the headlines. He shook his head. Where did all the good news stories go?

His mobile telephone had
