Brooklyn Skye grew up in a small town where she quickly realized writing was an escape from small town life. Really, she’s just your average awkward girl who’s obsessed with words. Follow her on Twitter @brooklyn__skye or visit her website for updates, teasers, giveaways, and more.

When I started writing this book last year, I had no idea how much I would enjoy creating this fun, witty couple. Sailor's silliness and utter lack of tact paired with Ryan's grumpy hotness had me literally laughing out loud as their scenes came to l ...more

More of Brooklyn's books…
“Why do you do that?” Torrin’s voice echoes in the empty hall. His hand is holding my arm gently, not at all like Derek does. I can’t have this. I can’t. I shouldn’t have ever come here with him.
I draw in a shaky breath and pull my arm away.
“Do what?”
“Walk away every time I ask you something personal?”
I stare hard at him. “Why do you do that?
He blinks. “Huh?”
“Ask so many questions.”
His mouth drops open and closes and five long seconds pass before he says, “It’s what people do, Quinn. When they’re getting to know each other.”
I shake my head and spin toward the door.
“You don’t want to get to know me.”

“What’s important,” I say, taking his face in mine hands, looking him in the eye, “is that all this hesitation of yours is giving me a complex. And I feel annoying, insecure thoughts threatening to infiltrate the certainty of you liking me.”
Brooklyn Skye, Stripped

“Maybe I should know the rules,” he says softly.
“Pfft. I’m not a game.” I reach out to poke his shoulder, and unexpectedly he catches my finger.
“Sometimes, I’m not so sure.”

“Why do movies make this look so simple?” He leaned back and looked her straight in the eye, the smile winning. “One-handed bra removal is not easy. I call false reality.”

“Teen boys all over the world are going to hate themselves for not being able to do it.”

“Grown men, too.”

“Don’t forget Irish men.” Melody readjusted herself and sat up straighter. “Declan?” she whispered, tipping her face toward his. Then she ran her tongue over his mouth and pinned his other hand against his side. “I don’t want you to hate yourself. Don’t give up. You’ve got this.”
