With that out of the way, let's begin.
This is the blah, blah, blah section. You know the author’s “glory page” where he gets to tell you grandiose things about himself and the deeper meaning of his work. Whatever.

I write books. Seriously, that's what I get to do every day. It's great.

I have been fortunate to author some that have achieved bestseller status, including The Hunters Series of mystery suspense thrillers. It took me a lot of years to get to that point, but I wouldn't trade any of them for a minute. I love writing books for you and the journey that brought me here

The short story format is one of my favorite literary platforms. Growing up I read as many short story collections as I did novels. One of my favorites is Ray Bradbury's 'Illustrated Man'. I think I learn more about writing in short stories than anywhere else. The necessity to limit rather than say more (always hard for me) makes the writing crisper and cleaner, for me at least.

The next in The Hunters Series should be released in the Spring and then the next Blue Eyes novel featuring Alice Trent (one of my personal favorite characters) should come out next Summer.

My writing schedule stays pretty full. That's the way I like it. Too much time away from the keyboard, and I tend to get slow and rusty. Got to keep things, like my old brain, flowing smoothly.

As an FYI - I also manage and contribute to a couple of Blogs - Blog Me at www.Glenntrust.com and Liberty Talk at www.Libertyandyou.com

Yes, I do occasionally have a moment of indecision about a story or where I want to begin, go with it, end, but I have found a solution to all the normal writer's block issues...It is really pretty basic...Write.

That works for me. I sit down and write something even if it is something really stupid, or if it will be completely deleted from the final manuscript, and soon the words and thoughts begin to flow.

So, I would say the hardest part of dealing with writers block is to just start writing something...anything. Start the engine and get it running. Once it warms up, things will be fine.

In short, I subscribe to the Jack London school of writing inspiration..."You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." ~ Jack London ~(less)

Sit Down and Bleed

Ernest Hemingway once said, “Writing is easy. You just sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”

While I do not subscribe to the bleeding theory, I admit that there are times for some writers when the creative juices cease flowing and their eyes gaze wantonly at the screen devoid of even the first idea or word to commit to their project. When it happens, it can be frightening. I kn...
