Nathalie Hebner's Blog

November 19, 2015

The new project I have been working on is mostly in images. Yes, that's right! I finally get to spend some quality time on some illustrations that I started a few years back.
This project is an illustrated book for children. It started with the encounter of a real life little frog in the freshly rained on road near a wooded area in Connecticut, during the Fall season. I really was entranced by how cute that frog was, and placed it in a more peaceful spot than concrete, and went on my way. And that's when the story of Sire Puffloque came to be.

Here are some of the concept art for it.

It was really exciting to watch and wait for everyone who got a chance to enter the giveaway.
I like that Goodreads does all the ground work for including readers and doing the prize winning selection. All Keith Hebner and I had do after that was sign copies and ship the books. That was really nice, because we didn't have to find participants, as Goodreads took care of that. I liked that there even was a winner from Great Britain. That is so cool to think of someone from another country about to read Despite Savagery.
It will be nice to find out what the winners think of the story. And I think we will have another giveaway again soon.
Thank you so much for being part of it all. :)

Congratulations, your prize is in route

It's Halloween Horror week, and there is plenty of chill in this condensed action packed story.

Despite Savagery by Keith Hebner

Working on the Sandfall Project with Keith Hebner has been as close to a dream experience as I could have expected. I have grown attached to the characters in this Saga, and want to draw fan art all the time.

Now the characters have arrived to their next destination, in this new episode, and there were quite a bit of surprises in store, even for me. In fact, I was quite delighted to find out about the characters and beings, and it's getting quite clear that this cast list is going to get a little longer.

I am trying really hard not to give away any spoilers, but it is getting a little steamier and a little darker. While I'm quite fond of the Rook and Nayeli duo, I'm really interested in how Agent Ferrous' investigation is going to turn out.

And now, with Jake Foster developing as a character on the opposite team to Rook and Nayeli, it's really delightful to begin to root for both teams at the same time. At least for me. I like complex situations, and complex plots. There are of course plenty of characters to dislike, like the Smiling Killers.

The new mesoamerican group was really intriguing, powerful and lead by free women, and that I liked as well.

If you have Amazon Prime time, you might like to pick up a free copy and see what I mean.

Enjoy, I myself really have enjoyed it quite a bit.
