Believe Release Day!!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Believe is now available through Sweet Cravings in ebook form!

I am an ebook junkie, therefore I have had a lot of practice dealing with ebooks and their various formats.

For those who are not as familiar, I am writing this blog post for you! :)
When you go to the Sweet Cravings website, or any vendor who sells ebooks other than the big names like Amazon and Barnes & Noble, you will be asked to select a format for your ebook purchase: EPUB, HTML, LIT, MOBI, or PDF.

You should be very careful in which format you select, and you should make sure your eReader supports it. For example, some PDFs will have a distorted appearance when I try to upload them to my Nook, so I usually stick with EPUB.

These formats are most common:
Nook supports EPUB
Kindle supports MOBI
Regular computers use PDF
iBook supports PDF or EPUB

Of course, if you are uncomfortable with manually uploading your ebook to your eReader, you can always wait until the book you are wanting is available on Amazon or Barnes & Noble so you can buy it directly from the site and have it automatically display on your eReader. :)

For right now, my novel Believe is only available for purchase on the Sweet Cravings website, but it should be on the Amazon site for Kindle users within the week. My guess is probably Tuesday! :)

You can find Believe at SweetCravingsPublishing.com :)

Date Changes.

Well, Believe's release date has changed several times, and being a brand new author, this process is very nerve-wracking. I can now say that Believe is officially going to be available April 24, 2013. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! I can't believe it's really happening! Pun intended ;)

I am so hooked on HBO's Game Of Thrones. I *have* to read these books when I find the time. Daenerys Targaryen is one awesome Khaleesi.

Laughing At My Nightmare

I was browsing through YouTube, and I happened to come across an awesome documentary about an amazing person with a terrible disease—well to him, it isn't that terrible. Soulpancake beautifully captures Shane Burcaw's story on film. Shane is hilarious, seems really down to Earth, and will often times laugh about his disease because life is what you make of it. Life is too short to worry about things beyond your control. I highly encourage you guys to watch this if you haven't already. You'll be glad you did! :)

Shane has an awesome blog called Laughing At My Nightmare.

Hump Day Hook!

Happy Hump day!! :D
In celebration of my book cover release, I've decided to give you guys a small excerpt from Believe. Hope you guys like it! :)

I glanced over to my left toward the single window pane not covered from the blinds. It was a cloudy day, shrouding the usual vibrant colors of summer with murky gray. Everything outside looked bland and dull. Rain would probably fall today from the way the clouds appeared dark and dense.

Several oak trees were clustered together with the wind swirling their branches in an angry dance. Leaves were carried off into the breeze.

A dark shape stood by the base of one of the trees near our window. I almost didn’t see him at first. He was far too still and blended in with the trunks. He wore a dark brown tunic with a matching hood that covered his face. I narrowed my eyes toward the figure, trying to get a better view of him. What an odd thing to do—standing outside a school window like that.

The man lifted his arm to remove the hood. Wide turquoise eyes illuminated against the shadows as his hood fell to his shoulders, revealing dark blue skin and pointed ears. Can I not take a simple exam in peace without having visions about the stalking blue man?

Annoyed, I met his gaze head on. The blue man tilted his head to the side, watching me carefully. His face was perfectly composed and emotionless, and his long dark blue hair billowed in the wind around him. Over his medieval tunic, he wore his familiar silver necklace with a stone that looked like a milky quartz. His outfits usually varied in my hallucinations of him, but that crystal pendant did not.

My desk suddenly lunged forward, and I took a startled breath. I turned around to meet Mark Peters’ curious stare. “You okay?” he mouthed to me. He was the one who kicked my chair.

“Yeah,” I mouthed back, smiling like nothing was out of the ordinary.

IT'S HERE!

Believe's OFFICIAL book cover is finally here!!

I am absolutely THRILLED with this cover! I'm so excited, and I just had to show it to everyone on my blog! :D

My cover artist is fantastic and really captured everything that this book conveys to the reader. It's a little bit on the eerie side with a somewhat haunting look, which is simply perfect. The cover model is gorgeous and looks pretty close to how Addisyn is described in the book :)

Now I'm off doing a happy dance for the rest of the evening.

Senioritis.

So it's my last year as an undergrad student at UNCC, and I'm definitely feeling sluggish with my school work. Every time I procrastinate, I go through the same painful process of frantically trying to complete my assignments on time. And each time I feel overwhelmed, I tell myself, "I will never ever do this again." And each time, I always wait until the last minute to complete my school work and ignore that little warning voice inside of my head. I'm not sure why I willingly submit myself to this kind of stress time after time, but that's exactly what happens.

Well, I guess I'll never know. Now I'm off to procrastinate some more.

New Cover

So, I wanted to make a Facebook page for my upcoming novel Believe, but I realized I didn't have any pictures I could post because my cover art has not been finalized by my publishing company yet. *frown*

I decided to make my own instead! *happy dance*

This will be my temporary book cover until my official one comes up. Enjoy!

Here is the Facebook page link for my novel Believe.
