Elaine Pinter was loaned a book while her son was recovering from ear surgery. Not only did she rediscover her love of reading, but she also found that her emotions could bring her own ideas to life. As her son grew stronger, so did the story of Eternal Mercury.

She lives in Idaho with her husband and son (who made an amazing recovery). When she’s not hanging out with them, she’s working on her latest project, From the Water Tower.

Writing Tip #3: Word Puke

This is my very favorite tip of all. I’ve gotten the privilege of volunteering in my son’s classes since he started school, and I love it when I get the chance to help the kids with their writing. But this tip isn’t just for them—it’s for all of us.

After the teacher explains the assignment and the kids have thrown out some ideas, there’s often a silent moment where every pencil in the room is hove Read more of this blog post »
