Wendy was born and raised in South Florida. She moved to Northwest Texas in her early 20s, but returned to South Florida eight years later. She holds five degrees, including MA and MFA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University. She's a poet, reading addict, and collector of interesting clothing tags, which are recycled into bookmarks.

She has served as a copy editor and reader for www.hippocampusmagazine.com, and as a reader for the James Jones First Novel Fellowship. Wendy is a crime analyst for a local law enforcement agency, an editor and proofreader for Booktrope, and lives with her teenage son.

“You’re mine,” he hissed. Anger simmered beneath the velvet of his voice. His hand stroked her center, taking her breath. “Your female belongs to my male, and you belong to me.”
There’s something sexy about having a man want you with fierce passion. To be wanted with desperation, demanding, that’s sexy as hell and most of my heroes make that demand in one way or another. With Joshua and Sonia this was the beginning of a claiming, though at the time, Sonia didn’t realize that.

“I have. Condoms and other forms of birth control don’t work on shifters. Either you’ll get pregnant or you won’t. Believe me, baby, you’re pretty damn fertile.”
Male arrogance. Throwing thought out the door. The walk of shame. I had this scene so clearly in my mind before I ever wrote the first word of the first chapter. I needed Sonia to completely lose herself in her need of him to the point she had to accept she was going back even if she didn’t want to deal with him. He’d become a guilty pleasure.

“You told me you were mine.” “I was. For seven days,” she insisted. “Not going without you, baby,” he said, stepping closer.
I love writing conflict both internal and external. Joshua and Sonia’s story was ripe with it. She didn’t really know about the shifter world and about the rules of the Leopards. She knew about her leopard because the leopard saved her when she was nearly killed. But, she didn’t realize what she’d gotten herself into with Joshua and telling him she was his during sex.

Before and Again by Barbara Delinsky
“The trouble with waking up in the morning is that you look like who you are. That’s great if you like who you are – not so great if you don’t.”

Before and Again by Barbara Delinsky
“Which is more abiding – a mother’s love or a child’s need for it?”

Wendy Garfinkle liked an answer from Christopher Rice:

This is a tough question. If you have any desire to write, then reading and watching movies and T.V. stop being passive activities. You start analyzing (and sometimes even picking apart) everything you read and watch. So while there's still an elemen See Christopher’s answer.

“Even a book can be dangerous in the wrong hands, and when that happens, you blame the hands, but you also read the book.”

“Life wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t supposed to be. Eternal beauty could not exist if it were not for the face of a fatal flaw.”
