"THE BRIDGE" Book 1 in the Para-Earth Series:
Alex Hill buried his psychic talents for eighteen years. But with the scream of tires and twisting metal all this changes.
His girlfriend, Police Sergeant Veronica Ross, is nearly run down by two teenagers leaving her depressed and troubled. After calming her down they get a call from the Coroner's office and learn that both the driver and passenger of the wrecked car had already been dead for almost twelve hours before the accident. Furthermore, they hadn't been killed in any vehicle accident, the pair had been drowned.
Upon hearing this Alex feels his powers stirring again and goes with Veronica to see the coroner to learn more. But, as soon as they reach the doors of the Morgue he is psychically assaulted by an unknown force.
Taking the attack as a warning, he tries to resist getting involved further. But, his talents soon lead him directly to the place where the teenagers died. It is the stream underneath an old stone bridge that is supposedly haunted by the White Lady.
But the real problem for Alex is the fact that both the bridge and stream are on the Graham Estate. The very property he is now representing as a real estate agent.
Soon the body count begins to rise, and each new death is somehow attached to the stream. And as the only person with full access to the estate, suspicion starts to fall on Alex. Especially when it's discovered he does not have a solid alibi for any of the incidents.
Now, in order to clear his name and learn what force is behind all the killings, Alex must decide whether or not to embrace the very abilities he shunned.

"THE SHIP" Book 2 in the Para-Earth Series:
What starts as a simple surfing lesson, turns into a struggle for survival for billionaire heiress Cassandra Elliott and her new love interest the Seneca shamaness Julie Cloudfoot.
Cassandra is knocked off her board by an unseen assailant that leaves a terrifying gash in her wetsuit, along with a small red mark on her leg. Soon, terrifying visions of a ghost ship begin haunting the heiress' dreams. She begins to feel strangely drawn to the sea whenever a strange fog bank appears in the distance.
Is something hiding within the miasma, and what connection does it have to the legendary "Lost Colony of Roanoke", and the tribe of Tuscarora Indians, that Julie is distantly related to...

My Thoughts On Kindle Unlimited...

Allan Krummenacker Allan Krummenacker

Recently there's been a lot of discussion of Amazon Kindle's latest program... "Kindle Unlimited".

Now for those of you have heard but don't know a lot about it, here's a quick recap in a nutshell.

*Remember: this is only a brief overview and not an in-depth piece. I understand there are still some details to be ironed out*

With Kindle Unlimited, you pay $9.99 a month to have unlimited access to Kindle books through Amazon. You don't have to 'buy' the books, you simply have access to them. Sort of like a private library that you pay a monthly fee to have access to. Now considering there are literally thousands of books on Kindle this is a pretty good deal for consumers. You can sample and read any the books and decide if you actually want to purchase a copy for yourself in e-book or maybe go for an actual print copy, without wondering whether or not the book is to your taste.

So on the surface, this sounds pretty good right? So how does this effect the authors? What do they get out of having their books being 'borrowed' instead of bought?

Well, Amazon has a plan in place for there. Should anyone 'borrow' your book and read at least 10% of it, whether or not the person finishes the book, the author will earn a paid share. So they are getting something for their trouble even if the entire book is not read or purchased. Nice right? They will get something just for having their book looked at (provided at least 10% of the book is sampled).

So this sounds like a nice win-win situation for all. Unfortunately, there is a catch (yeah, you all saw that coming didn't you?).

In order for an author's book(s) to be part of the Kindle Unlimited program, the e-book version of their book CANNOT be for sale anywhere else. Meaning, no Nook, Apple, Sony, or other e-reader formats through Smashwords, Scribd, Oyster, etc. Amazon and Kindle will have the SOLE selling rights to the e-book form of your work. Print editions are of course unaffected by this.

So basically, an author has to choose to either pull their existing works from Smashwords and the other e-book formats, and have only the Kindle version of their e-book available. Or, in the case of a brand new book, it will only be allowed to exist in print or Kindle form.

Speaking only for myself...

I am not going to do Kindle Unlimited or Kindle Select. Some time back, I pulled my first novel from Smashwords and did the Kindle Select which also requires exclusivity and only had the Kindle e-book form available for three months. I did it because this was the only way I could do 'Free-Days' through Amazon, which was important to me since it was my first novel. Those Free-Days got my name and work into the hands of over 1000 prospective readers. But I had to cut my Nook, Apple and Sony fans off for three months, which I hated doing.

When I released my 2nd novel "THE SHIP" I made it clear from the start that there would be no Free-Days, only "99 Cent Days" occasionally and that was it. And I'm sticking to my guns. 99 cents is the lowest I can go on Kindle without being part of either one of the their programs. "THE SHIP" is doing nicely, and I've also found that a number of people have told me flat out that they prefer paying the full price when they have the money, because they love what I've created and want to see the money go to me and not some corporation.

With loyalty like that, I can't bring myself to cut anyone off. So, I'm sticking with Smashwords and Amazon (no strings attached) for all my e-book formats. What others choose to do, is up to them. I simply wanted to take this moment to assure all my readers that I will always put my books out there in all the e-book formats so I can make sure it's available to you.

Here's the address to my author website which has links to all the e-book formats for both my books. Just click on it, and it will take you to the site and you can choose whatever format you prefer. You will always have a choice with me, it's my way of returning the faith and loyalty all of you have shown my by taking a chance on my books.

I'm Looking For A Few Honest Reviews....

I'm looking for honest reviews for my new paranormal/mystery novel "THE SHIP".
So far I've had 4 reviews on Amazon (all of them 5 star ratings), but I've only had one on Smashwords and over at Goodreads.com.  I really would like to see more, since most prospective readers like to see what others are saying about a new book.
So, in order to get them I'm offering 5 free E-Book copies through Smashwords. You'll be able to get your copy via a coupon I code I will be supplying any volunteers with.
For those who are not completely familiar with Smashwords, they have the following e-book formats avialable: (Nook, Kindle, Apple, Sony, and PDF). You'll have 1 month to read the book and provide a review on Smashwords and if you happen to have a Goodreads account, I would love to see it posted there as well.
BACK COVER SYNOPSIS OF THE NOVEL:
Cassandra Elliott is a billionaire heiress, who has just come out of the closet.  She is also a powerful psychic who has seen incredible and terrifying things.
In fact, just two weeks ago she and her new girlfriend Julie Cloudfoot, survived a horrific battle with a creature from a parallel reality, where evolution took a decidedly different turn.
As a result of that encounter the two of them have come to Santa Cruz California to bury Julie's uncle who fell to the creature, and to see if their new relationship will work out.  But an old adversary is stalking them.  A white haired man with plans for Cassandra.  However, before he can make a move, a new threat appears.  A legendary ghost ship arises from the sea and marks Cassandra as it's next target.
Soon Cassie and Julie find themselves fighting not only for their loves, but to keep from being separated forever... Send me a private message if you are interested. Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from some of you.

New Review For My 2nd Novel "THE SHIP"...

"THE SHIP" has just had another review written and it blew me away...  Book Review: The Ship by Joe HinajosaPosted on July 7, 2014Finally, Cassandra slumped against the wooden rail and murmured, “It’s coming… we have maybe two hours to prepare…” The Ship © 2014 Allan Krummenacker The Ship © 2014 Allan KrummenackerHappy Monday! Hope you had an exciting 4th of July weekend. Now it’s time to get back into the swing of things. To help you out, I’m back with an all-new book to share with you. The Ship is the second book of the Para-Earth Series by Allan Krummenacker. In the second book, we follow Cassandra “Cassie” Elliott, heiress to the Elliott family shipping fortune, and a family with a dark secret. Cassie is beginning to embrace her gift as a psychic, a gift that unbeknownst to her is putting her in danger.Cassie is also learning to accepther sexual identity and is beginning a relationship with Julie Cloudfoot, a gifted woman of Seneca descent, who harbors her own personal demons as well. Little do the pair know that more than attraction binds to two together. As the book opens, we find Cassie is hosting a memorial for Julie’s uncle Jason, a Seneca shaman, at her beach house in Santa Cruz, California. It’s a the beach where odd things begin to happen, and where her psychic abilities beacon a danger that has haunted the seas for centuries, and which puts her and her new lover in danger.A ghost ship - an entity that hunts and absorbs into ships into it’s being, and captures her crew, absorbing them into it’s grotesque form, prolonging their lives in unimaginable suffering - is drawn to Cassie by her abilities. She has become it’s next target forassimilation. Thus begins a race to find its weaknesses, to subdue this malevolent creature before it can take Cassie into itself. The heiress finds help in Julie, who is coming into her own as a shamaness, Julie’s parents and family, and an unknown alliance from the mysterious Z, a man who has his own nefarious plans for Cassie and her abilities. Can this other-worldly ship be destroyed? Can the group save Cassie and themselves from a fate worse than death?First, I want to say that though this is the second book in the series, it is very much a stand-alone book. It’s not necessary to read the first, but if I were to be asked for my opinion, I would suggest read The Bridge first. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Now for the book itself, I found myself engrossed by the telling. I could not guess as to what was coming next, which was a nice surprise. It was an original tale from a highly imaginative mind. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. It would have been to easy to exploit the main character’s newfound sexual identity. Instead, Allan balances Cassie’s journey into her first lesbian experiences with the needs of the story. There’s nothing gratuitous or pornographic. We see glimpses of a tenderness and passion, enough to satisfy the readers while keeping the private act private. The focus instead is placed in the characters as individuals, Cassie as a psychic, and Julie as a shamaness. It’s is their gifts as well as the affection for one another, that is their greatest asset. It is their reliance on their support group, a network of friends and family that is at the core of this story. It is the uniqueness of the cast, their mutual respect and admiration that I found most appealing. There is love, both romantic and familial, that drives the story through is climax and to its conclusion. My verdict? This is a great book, one that I have no qualms recommending to all readers. Please give The Ship a try. You won’t be disappointed. You can find the book on Amazon or on Smashwords. So there you have it.  Here's a link to Joe's blog, he's done a number of other book reviews and I really find them very insightful and interesting:

A DECISION HAS BEEN MADE!

Allan Krummenacker
Allan Krummenacker

*UPDATE: THE NEXT BOOKS IN MY PARA-EARTH SERIES WILL BE...*

After giving it a lot of thought and listening to feedback from readers both here and on my blogs I've come to a final decision on what order the next few books will be coming in...

Late November 2014 "THE VAMPYRE BLOGS" will be released first. This will be the first of at least 2 books. The story line I've been creating has grown to such an extent that it cannot be told in just one novel So I will do what I've been doing with the other books. A complete story will be told with a few dangling plot lines that will be addressed and wrapped up in the 2nd book which will come in time for Christmas 2015.

In May 2015 "THE DOOR" will be released and will take up where both "THE BRIDGE" and "THE SHIP" left off. It will reunite Alex, Veronica, Cassie and Julie. I won't give any spoilers away except to say that not only with the looming confrontation with the mysterious white-haired man will take place, but also the secret behind the ghostly Brandon will be fully revealed.

NOTE: Even though the story will wrap up a number of plot lines, this will NOT be the last you see of these characters. They will be back in future stories as well as making appearances in other novels So if you've grown attached to them, know you'll be seeing more of them down the road.

So that's where things stand and what you can expect in the next 18 months folks. I want to thank everyone who gave me feedback. I plan to try and release 2 novels a year, provided my school schedule for the next 3 years will permit.

In the meantime, please spread the word about my books to everyone you know. I'm leaving the link to my webpage below, which has both books and how to get them in whichever format they wish: KINDLE, NOOK, PDF, SONY E-READER, APPLE, or TRADE PAPERBACK:
