Grace Harwood was born in Manchester and grew up in Cheshire. She was employed variously as a secretary, groom, barmaid and shop assistant before studying at the University of Sheffield from 1995. She graduated from University in 1998 with a first class degree in English Literature. I was really interested to read this twist on the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale to see what Maisy Yates made of it and how it worked in the context of a Mills & Boon novel. I did some work on Beauty and the Beast as from the original tale ...more

After the high octane excitement which was 61 hours, which formed my introduction to Jack Reacher, I thought I'd start at the beginning and read the very first Jack Reacher book. To be honest, it was a bit of a disappointment. If this had been the ...more

I should have heeded the advice of the Associated Press reviewer who said 'don't pick this up if you don't have time on your hands, because you won't be able to put it down again'. Yes, after the last disappointing Jack Reacher experience (which was ...more

So here we are at number 3 in the series and I'm starting to think that the earlier novels aren't all that much cop really. It's only when we get to the later ones in the series that the author seems to have really worked out his form. This one was ...more

So, this is the second in the series, and I'm happy to say this one is written in the third person narrative style which works so well in these novels. Jack is on form in allowing himself to be kidnapped along with a pretty FBI agent, getting ...more

This is a bit of a disappointment from Penny Jordan from 1982 (although it was her sixth book during that year (out of nine, she would ultimately go onto publish during 1982) so it’s kind of understandable given the pressure and deadlines she must ...more

I absolutely loved this charming novel from Penny Jordan from 1989. Okay, the heroine isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, and the hero is not your traditional M&B hero in that instead of simmering sexuality, he’s a colour-blind Mr Nice Guy ...more
