E. M. Epps is a writer and bookseller in Seattle, WA.

The E. and the M. do stand for real names, but they are not names anyone uses, even the author's mother. In her daily life, E. M. Epps goes by Emma, which is (to be clear) NOT a combination of the E. and the M.; it's a mid-length version of the long name that the E. stands for. Wait, was that clear?

Suffice it to say: do not call her Em, and all will be well.

You can visit her blog, which includes book reviews, recipes, photos, and the occasional travelogue, at blog.emepps.com.

“Cold Sandwiches and All” Book Trailer

The ever-magnificent Nina Post made this book trailer for my latest novel, Cold Sandwiches and All. I’m simply floored by how well it turned out. She must have spent hours and hours finding just the right pictures–not only are they perfect, but they’re quite witty, too! It is just utterly charming and well worth a...

The Wedding Shop by Rachel Hauck
"Actual rating 3.5 stars. I had some very mixed feelings about this book. First off this is Christian romance, a genre I have several issues with. And although it navigates many of the problems in the genre well, it still has too many of the proble..." Read more of this review »

Middlemarch by George Eliot
Oh, the slow burn of genius.

I always tread lightly when it comes to using the word "genius" but there is no way around it here.

It took me a good 200 pages to fully get into the novel and its ornate 19th-century turn of phrase but very quickly, I w..." Read more of this review »
