June 2020 — Netgalley Reads

Cover of the book, The Dark Side of the Road by Simon R. Green

The Dark Side of the Road by Simon R. Green

The Nightside series by the same author is a favorite. So, when I found this on Netgalley, I quickly requested a copy. We’re introduced to a character who works for the most obscure agencies. They’re major players, so naturally, the public doesn’t know they exist. His handler is in danger and wants our protagonist to immediately head to his ancestral home

“Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying.
'I think of futility, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about futility?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her.
'Because Adjunct, it is futile.”

Vi Gall stones?? Really? What do you have to do to get rid of it? Medication?

And for the #1, the book has to be on my TT shelf. That is, it has to be here. I checked yours but haven't shortlisted one yet :)

message 55: by Vi

Vi Sorry, I slept while replying to your post! :D

So you're back to normal food? Too bad :P I'm sure the ultrasound would be fine.

Btw, did you RSVP to the SOS Bingo?

And u r welcome. Looking forward to share some exciting reads.

message 40: by Mary

Mary You're welcome, Midu! You have a crazy-awesome bookshelf, by the way.

message 39: by Vi

Vi Wow, Midu! You're obviously a much, much better reader than I am! I don't want to think of the series I've started. Time to log into fictfact, I think. And you are a bad, bad person Midu. Recommending me another series ::scowl:: *adding book to TBR* :P

message 38: by Vi

Vi LOL, Midu! I ask too many questions, huh?! I should start the series but I've started way too many series and I need to catch up on them. Would you be continuing the series?

Movies Now in India are showing all the three movies which prompted me to read the series actually. I have to finish the books soon so that I can actually watch the movie.

message 37: by Vi (last edited Sep 04, 2012 11:41PM)

Vi Yeah, I do. Mostly, the Fantasy/UF/PNR are series, right? Not many singles out there. Or maybe I notice only series stuff. Hmm

That series is on my TBR. Did you finish it? How's it? Is it UF? Also, I just started reading the Lord of the Rings. Sad to say, I haven't ever read it before. A little slow going and I'm holding off the movies after I've read the books.

message 36: by Vi

Vi Fantastic! Me, too! Actually, I have a number of trilogy that I need to complete. Super, right? ;) Let me know if and when you're reading it. I'll try to join :)

Btw, fast reading for the SRC Challenge!

message 35: by Vi

Vi Heya, Midu! I was thinking of you and you messaged! :O

I miss procrastinating reading with you too! Did you get to finish Weeks' Trilogy?

Love the Supernatural pics!
