Author Fair Omaha Public Library 2014  I am so excited to begin 2014 with several opportunities to speak and share the unique story of Four Blue Stars in the Window. I also look forward to working with schools to use The Dust Covered Days of Dorie Archer and the curriculum. What an excellent opportunity to combine literacy and history in order to teach students through the experiences of a real family! I am so proud to offer the videos of my family as primary sources in order to meet Common Core Standards.

The workshop uses The Dust Covered Days of Dorie Archer as an anchor text and incorporates 6 Trait Writing elements along with a variety of activities that allow for the students' active participation. The workshop can be used at the 4th, 8th, and 11th grade levels to prepare students for state writing assessments and meets both Common Core Standards and Nebraska State Standards.

WELCOME TO BARB'S AUTHOR'S CORNER
Some of my favorite Christmas memories are from the Eymann family Christmas gatherings in Tilden, Nebraska. The Eymann family rented the Community Center in order for our huge family to gather. I remember my aunts busily making delicious food in the kitchen, cousins running and playing, and a beautiful Christmas tree. Santa would make a visit handing out presents to the cousins and our parents would load sleepy but happy children into cars for the trip home. Warmth, laughter, and the bonds of family keep this memory alive. Happy Holidays!
