Hi Steve,

Thanks for your continued support of the series. There will be a fourth and concluding part, hopefully by September. The other books are going through the rinse in preparation for it; whilst I have very few readers, I don't want to short change them :-) The fourth instalment will be the last book I put out.

All the best,

James.(less)

James’s Recent Updates

The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie
"*** discussion of full book ***

The Blade Itself evokes a thesis in its very title, cut from the Homer line: the blade itself incites to deeds of violence. The publication sits on a threshold, a changing of eras into what we now think of as modern fan" Read more of this review »

Disfruto de este libro. No es muy difícil y no es muy fácil. La historia es muy interesante y me encantan Will y Lola. Yo también odio a Eduardo.

Para aprender español esto es muy bueno.

“There are eighty-eight keys on a piano and within that, an entire universe.”
James Rhodes

“Look, the easiest thing in the world is to cut and run. From anything, not just relationships. It neatly avoids taking responsibility for things, learning lessons that have to be learned at some point, reinforces blame, and, in my case at least, ensured I would simply repeat the same shit with someone else.”
James Rhodes, Instrumental: A Memoir of Madness, Medication, and Music

“I was used, fucked, broken, toyed with and violated from the age of six.”
James Rhodes, Instrumental: A Memoir of Madness, Medication, and Music

“Remember: It costs nothing to encourage an artist, and the potential benefits are staggering. A pat on the back to an artist now could one day result in your favorite film, or the cartoon you love to get stoned watching, or the song that saves your life. Discourage an artist, you get absolutely nothing in return, ever.”
Kevin Smith, Tough Shit: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good

“i learned that predators don't intentionally choose the weak or old or sick. they kill what they can, which means the slow members of the pack. thus, they strengthen the very gene pool they're feeding from. the threshold for what is weak, old or sick gets raised, and the strength, speed and instincts of new generations of hunters grow. a beautiful, self-perpetuating system where evolution is the antithesis of entropy.”
Craig Clevenger, The Contortionist's Handbook

“I felt as I hadn't felt for ages. I had a foolish desire to burst into tears. for the first time I'd realized how all these people loathed me.”
Albert Camus, The Stranger

“It was true that I didn’t have much ambition, but there ought to be a place for people without ambition, I mean a better place than the one usually reserved. How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 6:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?”
Charles Bukowski, Factotum

“The Pirahãs are firmly committed to the pragmatic concept of utility. They don’t believe in a heaven above us, or a hell below us, or that any abstract cause is worth dying for. They give us an opportunity to consider what a life without absolutes, like righteousness or holiness and sin, could be like. And the vision is appealing.”
Daniel L. Everett, Don't Sleep There are Snakes: Life and Language in the Amazonian Jungle
