Ian Palmer



Ian Palmer is an Adjunct Professor at UCT’s African Centre for Cities and is the founder of Palmer Development Group (PDG), a South African development consultancy. He has degrees in Civil Engineering, Economics and Environmental Engineering and 40 years’ experience in the fields of civil engineering and development. He has been the team leader on more than 100 projects in public sector service delivery, including institutional development, municipal services planning, municipal finance, intergovernmental relations, water and sanitation, housing, and roads and public transport.
