Catherine, well-known in many addiction/ recovery communities and is a proud advocate of gambling recovery. Through her book she shares her in-depth, real, raw look inside what gambling addiction looks like as she takes readers on a journey of an addict and other topics that have 'touched' her life, starting as a little girl into adulthood. Not all children are raised in an "angelic environment" and are some of the roots and the underlying issues as to why she turned to addiction.

Catherine had taken a dark path, trying to elude her past childhood pain of traumatic event as she began using gambling as an "escape" and a coping tool into a "dream world" to forget her pain if only for a few hours, from the haunting memories of her childhood sexual abuse, parental verbal and physical abuse, and lived with undiagnosed mental/emotional illness for many years.

This shaped the "perfect storm" as she became addicted to gambling. Gambling is seen as social fun and entertainment but became her worst nightmare and almost took her life, twice.

Now she has maintained recovery over 13+ years, she has become well known in the addiction/recovery communities and is a loud advocate of gambling addiction, mental health, and helps to slow expansions of Indian Casinos and State Lottery offerings across America. She's been a guest on many blog talk radio and most recent Voice America radio sharing her message of HOPE and Advocacy.

Catherine's featured in many media and recovery publications including Columbia University's media release of the 2x2 Project.org "Gambling with America's Health." And most recently for "Time Magazine & Nautil.us in August 2017 article of "Addicted To Anticipation.

She is a former columnist for "InRecovery Magazine's -The Author's Cafe" and is now a contributing recovery writer for "Keys To Recovery newspaper with a column called, QUIT To WIN." She is also an "Expert Gambling Recovery Blogger" for " Addictionland.com " of Founder/Author, Cate Stevens along with other recovery experts along like Christopher Kennedy-Lawford, Patty Powers, and Tommy Rosen.

After living So. Oregon for over 26+yrs, Catherine and her husband reside in Phoenix, Arizona. Married to her husband, Tom of 30+years. She is a 'Cat Lover' and has three, Princess, Boots, and Simon Peter. She enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, swimming, and rafting 'The Famous Rogue River.'
