Suzanne grew up in Chilliwack, B.C. A musical child, she studied music composition at the U of Victoria and UC San Diego. After a brief career as a composer and pianist, she drifted into music education where she learned she could weave a good story that kept kids pretty entertained. Excellent

An excellent book. Kristin Hannah captures the essence of the war, the starvation, the fear, the barely hanging from a string of hope. This novel left me in tears.
