I am the author of middle grade fiction and owner of A&M Moonlight Creations. My first published works are the books in the Mortal Realm Witch Series, a lighthearted fantasy series that grows with the reader. The first book, Learning About Magic was inspired by the question of what I would do if I were a witch.
Imagining myself as a witch helped me survive school. Growing up with selective mutism and social phobia, I was endlessly bullied by other kids, and often dealt with less than understanding adults. My imagination was my greatest escape from it all.
In the future, I plan to write some realistic fiction and more for mental health awareness as the lack of awareness for selective mutism led to receiving the wrong treatment for it. As a r

I have always written stories from the time I first learned how to print, but throughout all of my grade school years I thought I was going to be a vet. I never even considered the possibility of becoming a writer even though I loved to write. I guess becoming a writer and not just someone who wrote stories, all began with my high school tutor who was one of the first people outside of my family to see any of my writing. It was her that suggested that I publish some of my stories. I did have a few stories that she read and didn't like so knowing that she wanted me to publish them because she honestly believed I was a good writer is where that first thought of being a writer really crossed my mind. Then when she asked if I would be willing to do an interview with the local newspaper about my writing in hopes I would find a publisher and I said I would, I think this is where the official decision was made. However, how I got published is another story! (less)

I often get ideas for something other than what I am supposed to be putting most of my focus into but usually if I'm not coming up with ideas for one particular book or story I will just move on to another one. More than a Writer

Besides being an author and the owner of the publishing company, A&M Moonlight Creations, I am also an artist and photographer. Although this post is not about selective mutism, photography and drawing are two of the things I do to help manage my anxiety. I might talk more about this later as I am planning on making at least one more post about Selective Mutism before Selective Mutism awareness mo

“Okay," I said. "Now can I try riding a broomstick?"

"No. Most witches don't use broomsticks because they aren't that comfortable. The only reason witches use broomsticks is because they are lightweight and easy to get off the ground."

"Okay, so what can I fly?"

"At the moment, nothing," responded Trillman. "When you are ready, you can fly whatever you find comfortable and can get off the ground, as long as it isn't me."

"So when do I get to fly my convertible?"

"Convertible?”

“To go home, you usually will use that door over there." I looked where Trom gestured and saw empty space.

"What door?" I asked.

"Oh, sorry. Until you go through your closet door for the first time there won't be a door there."

"So then what do I use now?" I asked.

"You use that door." I looked and this time what he showed me was a door-only it looked like a pet door.

"Is that an oversized pet door?" I asked.”

“A dragon for a familiar!" Trom exclaimed.

"That's what I said to her or close to it anyway," the dragon said.

"You're supposed to be helping me make you my familiar," I said to the dragon.

"Yeah, I know; I meant for that to sound better than it did," the dragon replied.”

I didn’t do my homework.

I told him, “My dog ate it.”
He said, “You have no dog.”
