After an amicable divorce, Jay Hill decided to move back to his rural hometown with his teenage kids. Being on good terms with his ex-wife and in laws has made the transition into single life pretty smooth. Things were good and uncomplicated. Then Landon Petty walked into his life.
Landon didn’t expect to still be stuck in his hometown working at his dad’s sawmill at this point in his life. Being an openly gay truck driver was as awkward in practice as in description. When Jay came to take over managerial duties at his dad’s business, Landon was surprised to find a friend. When Jay turns out not to be as straight as he thought, things get complicated.
When feelings for Landon shine a light on how much Jay’s life has been actually half lived, he’s forced to decide if he’ll jump in with both feet or if he’ll let Landon slip through his fingers.

Oh, Just That Old Bandwagon Thing
So. I'm guilty. Totally.
We all are at times I'm sure. And this is no indictment of anyone in particular, nor is it an indictment of the genre. I feel it's a sub genre problem more so than an M/M-only problem.
I get that we're a small genre. It comes with the territory that we all know each other pretty well or have like one degree of separation between all of us in M/M (and again, in most any sub genre). It's hard, then, when we feel a friend has been slighted or when we just don't like someone on principal that "bandwagoning" occurs. I really haven't seen it towards me in a long while, nor am I talking about anything in particular. I'm not vaguebooking at all, and I'm not "weighing in" on anything. Just real talking (And I don't mean Anonymous RealTalk like that rude person from GRL).
I've done this in the past. I won't pretend otherwise. You get SO mad at someone you know personally you don't put much thought to just lashing out in unproductive ways. I stopped buying books based on personal opinions of an author because I didn't like a position they held, the way they spoke to someone, or that they were on the outs with a friend—or me. Meanwhile, give it a year and I pick up a couple of their books on rec and I'm like "Wow, those were good." And imagine it, while I was reading, the LAST thing I was thinking of was the author personally. So being humbled by that a couple times, I just ... stopped. I'll give anyone a chance.
I will say, while I'm definitely not perfect, that I have not ever, though, set my readers and friends out on a witch hunt. Never have I sent an e-mail saying "Y'all, I hate so-and-so and I hate everything they write so go sick 'em." I've never even implied it, so if I was a heinous bitch and took a book personally and that's what one assumed was implied, I definitely am here to say that's never been my intention so don't justify your going after someone because I gave a book a bad review. If you know me and you know our opinions match up 9 times out of 10 about a BOOK, then obviously that's why friends read friends reviews so that's not what I'm saying, and by all means just don't read it. But, if that author slighted me, I'd never wish people to go out and slam them with a bunch of uncalled for 1 star reviews, and dammit I'd hope for the same thing in return, even if the author doesn't like me personally or is angry at my review.
Reviews are opinions. Like assholes and elbows, we all got em. And you know what? Sometimes people are touchy and we go off half-cocked and I'm not always proud at how I've handled myself. It's my greatest flaw, sometimes, this mouth of mine.
In a perfect world, there'd be a truce. If your friend gives props to an author you dislike, that doesn't mean your friend is a traitor. If your two favorite authors dislike one another, it has naught to do with you. Grown folks can be dumb, tell us to work it out or shut the fuck up. We're, in essence, co-workers and sometimes co-workers don't get along, as you all well know. We get jealous at times, we sometimes think someone is just too full of themselves. Don't think I've never said to my CLOSE friends "Ugh, this dick..." but I'm proud to say my friends don't then go after that person in return. Usually it's a "I hate that you guys don't get along" moment for them and then... IT'S DONE. And I'm guilty of sitting with other authors and saying the words "I don't like so-and-so", MEANWHILE I know those authors aren't going to change their opinions based on my sour grapes... And I shouldn't have said it anyways. Again, I'm human.
So, while I don't expect everyone to get along and hold hands, I don't expect the miracle of us all being besties—hell, that's just not even human nature—next time you think "Oh fuck this chick, my bestie said she was rude at RT" or "This guy said something my friend thought was sexist", remember even adults are capable of taking shit out of context. She may have been having a bad day and thought her waving "hello" sufficed, he may have caught your friend on a bad day. I know I'VE thought a female author was being horribly misandrist before and when we talked about what she said to someone that they said to me (and wasn't that the biggest flaw in it all "he said that she said that he said...), they both agreed it was misheard, and sounded pretty shitty out of context.
A) Life is too short, B) books are too good, and C) the genre is too small for us to let squabbles and such keep us from enjoying something. I mean, yeah, if someone is running around saying "I hate gays but I write for the money" and "women are too simple to write books" then no... Don't buy their shit. Fuck them. Hard. But for the rest, remember we're human—authors, bloggers, reviewers, readers— and we're sometimes gonna say something or other that pisses at least one person you know off, and if you stop reading every author who does so you'll have nothing to read.
I love this genre. I love my friends, my readers, my confidants, and I wish the best for you all. Hell, even when I see someone I don't care for is selling astronomically well I MAKE myself say aloud—and mean it— "Good for them." Because at the end of it, quality work is quality work and astronomical sales for one may bring readers and new friends for us all. And isn't the bigger picture more important than petty shit?
I'll wind down now. Lord knows I'm no better or worse than some at this and I'm definitely not preaching here. But, I've taken a moment over the last few months to really think on how I may have treated people in the past and how I've been treated. And again, this seriously is a random side note. I didn't see anything in particular that set it off, so much as a conversation I had with someone about how we'd been trying to be more adult in our relations with other authors, etc., lately. Amazing how much DRAMA one avoids that way, so if nothing else there's your best reason to tell yourself to sit the fuck down, sometimes.
<3 you guys. And those I've had beef with, or still do, I respect that you get up every day and work your ass off the same as I to put these stories out and do good things for our readers/friends. This is kinda my mea culpa. I don't expect any of us to change our minds over night. Just thought I'd put a little positivity and acknowledgment of my own hand in a lot of things out there and encouraging everyone to just... Give each other a chance. And, in response I was reminded, our actions do put some people off. I don't want to ever be the person whose harsh words about another stopped someone from going after their dreams because they didn't think they'd be accepted. #spreadpositivity

Borrowing Trouble Snippet & Reader Appreciation Giveaway
HEY GUYS!
So, I am BLOWN AWAY by the sales and fabulous reviews for Borrowing Trouble. I was super nervous about how Landon & Jay's laid back small-town story would go over and goddamn has it exceeded any expectation I ever could have had. Y'all... You leave me speechless.
So. I'll let a giveaway speak for me.
First, for those who haven't read it yet, I've got one last snippet for you guys. It's 100% NSFW, but it's one of my favorite Jay moments in the book. Then stick around for the giveaway and enter for your chance to win paperbacks, swag, and gift cards!
Okay, so the snippet is Jay and Landon's second time being together. While Jay's feeling all these new things, he also has decided to take it, to enjoy being with Landon.
Landon hummed his pleasure as he sucked and kissed on Jay’s chest and collar bones, wrapping those big, strong hands around the small of Jay’s back, then dipping into Jay’s jeans.
And that was the biggest difference, the thing that made Landon so addictive. Jay felt worshipped. He felt Landon’s touch, the way it felt like he was actually being touched for the first time, all the way from his balls to this scary place deep in his chest.“Oh, Landon,” he said on a breath as Landon kissed his chin, then his cheek. Landon moved his hands to Jay’s fly and undid it before pushing his pants and his underwear down. They both chuckled nervously as Jay tripped up a little. “Sit on the bed,” Landon directed. Jay did as he was told and Landon kneeled before him, pulling off his boots and pants, one leg at a time. Jay’s cock rose proudly, hard and red-tipped. Landon ran his stubbled cheek all along Jay’s inner thighs, over his balls. Jay shuddered, his balls drew up. “Damn,” Jay hissed. “That’s so strange, but it’s hot as hell.” The pleased look in Landon’s eyes was precious to Jay. He was glad, he wanted to please Landon. Landon opened his mouth and took Jay in hand, patting the head of Jay’s cock on his tongue. It was equally the most obscene and hottest thing he’d ever seen. “Want me to suck it?” Landon asked, stroking Jay’s cock, then kissing Jay’s leg. “Please,” Jay begged, voice cracking. Landon smirked. Then he sucked the head in, running his tongue around the crown, still stroking with the other hand. Jay leaned back, placing his hands on the mattress behind him. “God, that’s so good.” Landon gave an mmmmm and started sucking harder, his pretty lips stretched obscenely on Jay’s thick cock, his blond head bobbing up and down. Jay’s breath quickened, his skin feeling too tight over his whole body. He felt the same steady jerking of Landon’s body as last time and realized Landon was pleasuring himself. Jay reached out to stop Landon’s sucking, though he was loathe to do so. “Stop, stop.” Landon pulled back, surprised. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing. I was… I was close to finishing. But I don’t want it like last time. I want to touch you too.” Landon looked even more surprised, which made Jay feel like a jerk.He pulled Landon up on top of him and kissed him until Landon had to pull back to breathe. “Landon, don’t take crumbs, okay. You deserve more.”

Borrowing Trouble: Release Day Note & Links
So, it's been a long road. Two years ago, after my writer pride took a deep wound by a drive-by-reviewing (Yes. I know, I know... I’ve learned much since then, haha.) in which some said “I just don’t think Kade is capable of writing older characters authentically”, I set out to prove them wrong. I plotted this book, wrote a couple chapters, got a cover, filled myself with righteous indignation.
Ah, hubris.
Wanna talk about humbling? I reread the few chapters I wrote and thought “Motherfucker… I CAN’T write them right.” So I put away the outline, never to write a character over 25 without a co-writer again. It was all very dramatic haha.
But, a while back the muse was drunk as hell and wouldn’t settle on the project I WANTED to write. She wanted something more slice-of-life, something with more solemn, quiet characters. Well, we picked through my Drive because I was just out done with her. But I stumbled on Borrowing Trouble. And I was amazed at how easy it was to write this time.
Granted, I’m not saying I grew up or I’m suddenly a massively improved writer. Hell, they may sound like angsting teens again, for all I know. But I’m very proud of how far Jay and Landon came with some time spent away from them. Maybe it was life, maybe it was getting the early-20s angst out of my system (though, are we ever really done with that?). Also, though, came this understanding I didn’t have back then for men like the ones I grew up with who, even though they were gay, refused to give up their home and their roots. I was born with wanderlust and couldn’t imagine staying where I was. But then I found home for the first time… And I thought WOW. So maybe it was some of that too.
Either way. Jay and Landon are quiet souls; steady southern men just looking for a little peace and growing in ways one of them never expected. And I’m terribly proud of them for letting me do this with them because I feel like I know them, like they’re waiting for me with a beer and conversation when I go back to visit where I came from. I hope you all enjoy.
So, for those who didn’t make it to GRL this week, SURPRISE. Some reading for your weekend. For those at GRL, some reading for the plane ride home. Borrowing Trouble is now available! Only $2.99 or free on Kindle Unlimited. [Click Here to Buy]
AND DON'T FORGET! There's still two days to submit your random video of yourself to win a trip to hang out with me and tons of other authors at Rainbow Book Fair here in NYC in April 2016. For more info [Click Here] and/or [Here ].
Happy Reading & SOOO Much Love,

Borrowing Trouble: Word Wednesday & Final Day of Rafflecopter!
Hey guys!
So this is it. The LAST day of the Refflecopter that has prizes like ARCs and paperback copies of Borrowing Trouble, as well as backlist eBooks. So when you're done reading today's Word Wednesday snippet, make sure you enter for your chance. AND there's still 5 days left to enter my Crazy Rainbow Book Fair NYC Trip Giveaway Extravaganza. (Yeah, that gets called something different every time I pimp it haha)
So. Only this Word Wednesday and a Snippet Saturday to go til RELEASE DAY! I'm SOOO excited.
I may even have a surprise on Snippet Saturday to entertain everyone who couldn't make it to GRL this year. So I'm just gonna jump right into the snippet.
In this snippet, it's a few days after Landon & Jay have hooked up for the first time. Jay's having a little trouble wrapping his mind around things, as a 36 year old man who's never really explored his true feelings for other men before. Landon has a little suggestion....
Landon almost passed out from nerves and need and hope when Jay was suddenly there in his face, hands on both sides of Landon’s neck. “I can’t get you out of my head. And I can’t stop wanting you. And I don’t want to hurt you. And all I could think about was talking to you.” Jay studied Landon’s face, eyes darting around desperately. “Sending you home the other day was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. And I mean ever.”Landon’s tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth and his eyes welled up. God, he couldn’t do this. Jay couldn’t make promises, but Landon couldn’t help wanting them. He’d never ached for someone like this, body and soul. He’d never wanted to help someone so much. He feared he might break from it.“Jay,” Landon whispered. Jay pressed his mouth to Landon’s, and Landon’s whole body sang as he was pushed back into a shelf. The wood dug into his back, but Landon didn’t care as he gripped Jay’s forearms and sucked on his tongue. They kissed like that for a few moments, Landon feeling lost to the man, until Jay pulled back, wide-eyed. The wonder there gutted Landon. Could Jay really have repressed himself that long and that hard? “Jay, I have to go soon.” He hated to leave, but he was already behind schedule and he needed to clear his head, which would never happen trapped in that small room with Jay.Jay reluctantly dropped his hands. “Yeah.” His voice was rough until he cleared his throat. “I’m sorry. I’m losing it.”“No. Don’t apologize.”“I don’t want to use you. You just put me at ease. It’s like having Sammy or…” He flushed again. They didn’t have time to get into any more random word vomit now. “I think your head and your heart need a break,” Landon said. He reached out and gave in to the need to rub the place where Jay’s brows knitted together. “I’m going to give you an option. It’s up to you whether or not to take it.”Another dubious look from Jay made Landon chuckle. “Okay.”“So, I’m willing to be your sounding board. I’m not going to judge you.” He sighed. “I’ll be honest, I think about you a lot too. But I want what you think is best for you. I know you have a lot at stake. Just know, my door is open. I’ll be home tonight. Your kids are away. If you want to come to my house and just hang out or talk. I’ll even kiss you again if you twist my arm. But you have to make that choice.” He took the chance, in case it was his last, to run a hand down the side of Jay’s face, rubbing his thumb over those thinned lips. “If you don’t, I won’t be angry. I won’t cry in my beer. I’ll understand.” I hope. “We can be civil and pretend nothing happened. Or you can nut up and figure your shit out.”Jay’s eyes widened in surprise. And Landon left it at that. No goodbye kiss. He pulled his hand away and straightened his shirt and ball cap, then left with as much dignity as he could. He knew he’d done the right thing, but he wanted to beg Jay to come over. Which was dumb because not twenty-four hours ago he was determined he should be done with it all. But if there was a chance, even at just helping Jay figure his shit out, he’d take it.Or maybe he’d just been lonely too long and felt that connection with Jay. Fuck.
He’d see tonight.

Borrowing Trouble by Kade BoehmeComing October 20 [Add on GoodReads]
Borrowing Trouble: Snippet Saturday, Paperback Cover Reveal & Giveaway
Heya guys! WOW sooo much going on this month. And this is another ALL THE THINGS kinda post too, haha. Got the paperback cover reveal AND the first Snippet Saturday! So I'll just jump right in.
First, the FABULOUS Elizabeth Mackey hooked up this cover so TODAY I'm revealing the paperback cover for you guys <3. I'm so very excited.
Gah she nailed this cover. It makes me SOOO happy.
Next order of business. The giveaway I'm doing with Diverse Reader Blog is nuts and it's going SO well, so if you haven't heard about it or haven't gotten your video in, make sure you do! You've got until October 18th, winner being announced on Borrowing Trouble's release day (October 20th).
Okay, so now. Starting Snippet Saturdays (which we know sometimes will be Snippet Sundays. I was just eager for this first one! (This is unedited, as my editor Heidi is still powering away on edits so I used this from the 1st draft) This one's a little longer than the others will be.
First, I'll say, you're probably gathering that this story is VERY southern. I definitely went hard on the small town thing, based near where my family lives actually. In this scene, Jay and Landon have been hanging out a few weeks, watching football, just kicking it. Jay only recently discovered Landon might be gay and it's got his brain clicking and turning in disconcerting ways. When Landon stops by and offers to help with some yard work, things get even more... hot. And it ain't just the southern weather.
JAY changed into his work boots and a ratty old Budweiser t-shirt. He’d only just pulled the push mower out and slid on his cowhide gloves when a familiar F-250 trundled up his gravel driveway.
OKAY. That's it guys. Stay tuned for more Snippets, more release info, and more giveaways for Borrowing Trouble. Don't forget to enter the Rafflecopter below (same as on Diverse Reader). And click over to Diverse Reader Blog on the link below to get info on my Rainbow Book Fair NYC Trip Giveaway Extravaganza!

Thanks guys! Until next time!<3kaderade

Kaderade & Diverse Reader Giveaway Extravaganza Update/FAQ
SOOOOO... Got a couple things going on today, it seems. Haha. I TOLD you guys I'd kinda lost my mind when I came up with this one. *shrugs* haha. ANYWHO. So yes. The cover reveal for Borrowing Trouble is upon us! It comes out Oct 20th, and I'm so excited. The fabulous Elizabeth Mackey did SUCH a beautiful cover. HERE IT IS!
Go to Diverse Reader for an exclusive excerpt (aka Chapter 1 haha) [ CLICK HERE ]
There you can also see that lovely sickly video of me tell you about the big NYC trip giveaway. (you should really go watch it)
Then there's the giveaway. For those confused, aside from the Rafflecopter, which has your print books and stuff (at the above Diverse Reader blog link) there's a HUGE grand prize: I'm flying someone (from continental U.S.) out to NYC for the weekend of Rainbow Book Fair in April 2016. Good lord, I have to throw a huge shout out to Meredith King who helped me keep all those wild kittens herded. Seriously, I'm so excited for that grand prize. To answer a couple of questions: A ) I won't share the winner's video at any point—for my eyes only unless specified otherwise, B ) Rainbow Bookfair Weekend is Friday April 8 - Sunday April 10 (so I'm open to your flying in Thurs afternoon and staying til Sunday. I know those two days would fly by but I was trying to be conscientious of day jobs, etc), and C ) the entries are open from today thru sunday the 18th, unlike the Rafflecopter which ends the 15th, so ARCs can go out...well, in advance.
And finally, the "what are you thinking?!" Well, I'm thinking I am all the time offering to fly friends out for events (plays, concerts, etc) and you guys... you're friends and my support group and my cheer leaders and my M/M family; my romancelandia dream team. I'd do it for all of you if I could, so this is the least I feel I can do.
So don't sweat it, you have time and me and the person helping choose the winner will be the only ones viewing your videos so do your thing! Because dude, you get a flight, 3 day, 2 (can discuss 3rd) night NYC stay at a Times Square/Midtown Manhattan hotel, Drag show Dinner & Fireball Friday with me (and may be joined by other authors), you'll get RBF with ALL those fabulous LGBT authors/comic book artists and we usually have a great M/M showing, swag from me and Felice Stevens (the SWAG QUEEN, yall) and the Boozy Brunch Crew and SO many author friends who want to pitch in, AND DUDE, you'll be in NYC. All you gotta bring is your spending $$ and an extra bag (or 3) for all your swag and purchases (I mean, it's NYC). Saturday after RBF there's always a group of us who hit the clubs etc (of course we always hit my regular spot stonewall, so drunk AND culter..sure :) ), but like I said... technically you can show up, collect your swag, get your free Drag Dinner & Fireball on Friday night, then tell me to get lost and spend the whole weekend doing your own thing. It's your gay ole NYC extravaganza.
SO. GO ENTER! And don't forget to mark OCTOBER 20TH for Borrowing Trouble's release day! <3

Borrowing Trouble: Blurbage and Teasers
Borrowing Trouble is with the editor and getting ready, it's coming in October! Thought I'd drop a little blurbage on you guys. Cover reveal is Monday October 5th at Diverse Reader Blog along with my EFFING CRAZY giveaway! Soon, we'll start up those Word Wednesdays and Snippet Sundays to gear up for Landon & Jay's book. I'm SO SO excited. Until then, here's the blurb:
Borrowing Trouble
by Kade Boehme After an amicable divorce, Jay Hill decided to move back to his rural hometown with his teenage kids. AND now, a teaser: “Landon,” Jay said on a breath. He swallowed again. “Touch me. Please.” He sounded fucking gutted with need, even to his own ears. Landon’s pupils blew and he reached out a hand, grasping Jay’s cock. Jay’s head fell back against the door with a thud and he moaned. “Jesus.”“God, you’re so hard… for me.” Landon sounded confused. He may as well join the club because Jay didn’t know what was going on but he had to have more.“Landon, please.” God, what are you saying? It didn’t matter, though. Landon plastered himself to Jay and their lips banged together, almost painfully as they ate at each others mouths. Jay had never, ever felt this. This wasn’t getting off as a biological imperative, this was deep down, never-knew-it-could-be-like-this need. AND a teaser for the cover:

Confessions Of a Wild Heart (Available Now!): Final Snippet & Buy Links
Heya Guys!
Today is the day. I took a poll to see if I should early release and—surprise, surprise—it was overwhelmingly decided (see THEY MADE ME!) that I'd click that old publish button. So I did. And now Ase & Jase are live.
Since I still had some snippets left, I thought I'd leave you guys with a final snippet and follow that up with the buy liks. <3 Thanks for sticking around, and for being so awesome while I did my thing with Ase & Jase.
In this snippet, Ase & Jase have finally called a truce, spending some time together. Jase's taken Ase to a cool place to take some photos and the afternoon is kind of a revelation.
And that's it. Hope you guys go BUY BUY BUY. And I hope you enjoy Ase & Jase's story. <3 Buy link is below.

“The bike safe here?”“Oh, yeah,” Jase said. “No one comes out this way.”“We’re here,” Jase retorted, flatly.“You’re an ass, Ramirez,” Jase said with an equally dry tone.Ase turned his well-shaped ass Jase’s way and looked over his shoulder as he rubbed it through his black denim. “It’s a nice ass, gringo. Don’t forget it.”“You really gotta get more original than gringo.”“I can’t help you’re so white, hombre.”“Because that’s more original.”“Give me time. I’ll come up with something more to your liking,” Ase said, with a wink. He started digging through the saddlebag and lifted out a smaller bag. Opening that bag revealed the Nikon Jase remembered. It was fascinating watching the concentration with which Ase inspected and readied his camera. The man was fucking sexy whether he was teasing or deep in thought. Which Jase didn’t find fair because it was getting harder and harder to ignore the pull Ase had always had on him.Jase suspect that the sad look in Ase’s eye would put bigger mean than Jase off, but over time even Ase’s melancholy endeared him to Jase. But some of that darkness had drained out of Ase’s eyes. Jase didn’t think it was all him, but if Ase felt anything like Jase did with their renewed friendship, he’d like to imagine being in Jase’s company helped in some way.“Ready?” Ase asked.“Just waiting on you,” Jase said, tapping his boot impatiently, teasingly.“Excuse me.” Ase bowed dramatically at the waist and held his hand out. “After you, Princesa.”“Don’t call me that, either.”“I can never please you,” Ase said, shaking his head woefully.Jase lead the way, cackling a little at Ase’s being so silly. It was nice to see the silly Ase again. Finally they rounded the trees that led to the small ghost town. It had long since stopped being popular with tourists, because all but a few buildings had been reclaimed by the forest. But the main street was well preserved and a few of the false fronts still stood.Birds perched on some of the buildings, whistling merrily, and the sun peeked through the trees in such a way the area felt magical to Jase. He’d always loved coming here. And he was happy to be able to share it with Ase.He hadn’t heard any shutters from the camera so he looked back to spot Ase. The happy, childlike way Ase took in his surroundings made Jase’s heart clench. It was almost like Germany again when Ase started testing boards and stepping up on porches.“This is great,” Ase said. Jase smiled to himself, watching Ase whistle back to the birds, who stayed perched on the false fronts, eyeing him warily.
Then Ase turned Jase’s way, smile broad and face a little flushed with happiness. And he stole Jase’s breath.
Ase was beautiful, and the years seemed to have dropped away as the sun shone on him, his happy expression open and less tense than it had been since they’d started hanging out again. And fuck if Jase didn’t feel himself falling, no matter how stupid that was.
And that's it. Hope you guys go BUY BUY BUY. And I hope you enjoy Ase & Jase's story. <3 Buy link is below.
