Petrea Burchard is an audiobook narrator and author. She lives in Southern California with her husband and their famous dog, Wilma.

Burchard narrates the Kat Carter Fraud Legal Thriller series and the Westwick Witches cozy mystery series, by Colleen Cross. She's also known as the original English voice of Ryoko, the sexy space pirate in the anime classic, "Tenchi Muyo!"

Burchard's Arthurian time-slip novel, "Camelot & Vine," is the tale of a failing Hollywood actress who falls through a gap in time and lands in King Arthur's war camp, saving King Arthur's life (and turning her own life sideways). Her nonfiction essays, collected in "Act As If: Stumbling Through Hollywood With Headshot in Hand," are based on her experiences as a journeyma

When the course was over, I had a little time to play tourist. One place I visited was the Glastonbury Tor. From atop it, I could see a low, flat hill to the south. I asked our guide what it was. "It's Cadbury Hill," he said. "Legend says it was Camelot."

I had always been a writer as well as an actor, and I was chronicling my experiences and feelings about the trip in a diary. But I didn't need to write that down. The idea of Camelot as a real place would not leave me. I wanted to go there but since I couldn't, I sent Casey instead.(less)

I'm not easily won. I don't hand out 5 stars to just any old book.

"Big Little Lies" starts out almost as a confection. I think "hey, this is going to be a fun read, a bit of fluff."

But Moriarty weaves a dark tale into the bright one, intertwining th

“I had no one else to call. Nobody needed me. I had constructed my life to make certain of it. I'd remained aloof in acting class, been too cool to give my phone number to people I met on the set. I hadn't wanted the complications of being nice.”
Petrea Burchard, Camelot & Vine

“It is all true, or it ought to be; and more and better besides.”
Winston S. Churchill

“This is the oath of a Knight of King Arther's Round Table and should be for all of us to take to heart. I will develop my life for the greater good. I will place character above riches, and concern for others above personal wealth, I will never boast, but cherish humility instead, I will speak the truth at all times, and forever keep my word, I will defend those who cannot defend themselves, I will honor and respect women, and refute sexism in all its guises, I will uphold justice by being fair to all, I will be faithful in love and loyal in friendship, I will abhor scandals and gossip-neither partake nor delight in them, I will be generous to the poor and to those who need help, I will forgive when asked, that my own mistakes will be forgiven, I will live my life with courtesy and honor from this day forward.”
King Arthur, Le Morte d'Arthur: King Arthur and the Legends of the Round Table

“Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.”
Gore Vidal

“Listen carefully to first criticisms made of your work. Note just what it is about your work that critics don't like - then cultivate it. That's the only part of your work that's individual and worth keeping.”
Jean Cocteau

“Classifiable things reek of death. You must strike out in other spheres . . . quit the ranks. That's the sign of masterpieces and heroes. An original, that's the person to astonish and to rule.”
Jean Cocteau
