J. A. Devereaux is passionate about the thief who isn’t really a bad guy, guys like Alexander Mundy (It Takes a Thief); Neal Caffrey (White Collar); the “Leverage” crew; REQUISITION FOR: A THIEF’s Gregg Hadyn, Niki Grey, and Jaelynn Madding; and Thief à la Femme’s Rayla Rousseau. Such characters motivated her extensive knowledge of diamonds and her own thieving skills—strictly for research and writing purposes, of course! A long distance runner, former cross country coach, and former singer/songwriter, she resides with her husband in Jackson, Michigan.

As you might be able to tell from my author picture, I really get into my thief! So... I guess the answer is yes. My subconscious is always keyed into my "secret place," and vice versa.(less)

I'd fly on brooms, play quidditch, and use my wand like I now use my lock-picking tools--for the good of others! (less)

I haven’t been around much, at least not in the “real” world. I’ve been around a lot in my fantasy worlds, however. I’ve been to Washington, DC; Malibu, CA; Jamestown, ND; and all over North and South Korea in my latest novel – just published – Requisition For: A Thief 13th Rule of Theft. It was published on July 16, 2019 in both eBook and paperback and is available through my webs...

I couldn't complete this book. The grammatical errors and continual repeating of cliche phrases finally got the best of me. I enjoyed the first three books, but, beginning with #4, I became annoyed with the obvious "briticisms." The characters are su ...more
