Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.

I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.

Since then, I’ve earned my living online in various ways. Last year (2021) I earned $208,536 from my laptop.

I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best online business courses. My team and I are spending many hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.

All that to say: we know a thing or two about such courses and making money online.

The Best Blogging Course?

We’re on a mission to find the best blogging course, based on our own extensive research plus feedback from real students.

31 Days To Build A Better Blog is an okay course – especially for the price – but not the best we’ve seen…

How does 31 Days To Build A Better Blog help you make money?

31 Days To Build A Better Blog aims to help you build and grow a blog that gets tons of traffic from Google and other search engines.

Throughout the training, Darren Rowse covers many ways of monetizing and promoting a blog, such as guest posting, SEO, and (personal) branding. He also recommends using an autoresponder and talks about setting up drip campaigns.

However, it’s best to consider the training as more of a broad overview of how to monetize and promote a blog. As we’ll get into below, there isn’t much detailed instruction provided.

Learn more about bloggingWho is 31 Days To Build A Better Blog for?

The training sells itself as a place where people who already have a blog can learn about improving it.

⚠ Important to note: the course DOES NOT teach you how to create a blog and get it online; it’s assumed you’ll have already done that part.

ProBlogger talks about two use cases for the training on the sales page…

31 days to build a better blog review sales page

In my opinion, that’s mostly a fair assessment of the training, though I’d hesitate to consider it a “lifesaver,” given all that’s lacking (more on that below).

But if you are a brand new or struggling blogger, you will likely find something of value in the 31 Days training. Especially given that it’s so inexpensive compared to most other blogging courses.

70+ ways how to make money online (including easy options)Does Darren Rowse have a good reputation?

For the most part, yes.

Darren is one of the first famous full-time bloggers. He started way back in 2002, and worked on more than 30 blogs. He made the transition to earning a living from blogging in 2005.

Darren mostly focuses – and is still active – on his two main sites, ProBlogger and Digital Photography School.

However, it seems to me that Darren isn’t in the habit of starting new blogs from scratch. While going through the 31 Days training, I got the distinct impression that he was teaching blog growth strategies and tactics that worked well ~10 years ago, but perhaps not so much today.

Another thing that’s giving me pause is that Darren doesn’t seem to be paying much attention to his own course nowadays. At the time of this writing, it looks like he hadn’t been active in the training for nearly two years!

And it looks like the other people behind the training haven’t been active lately either…

31 days to build a better blog review course founders

Adding to my impression that the course is somewhat outdated and abandoned, is that a YouTube video from 10+ years ago is included in the materials.

Here it is…

On the bright side, Darren is still clearly a successful blogger in his own right.

We know this because the stats for ProBlogger still look pretty impressive…

31 days to build a better blog review ahrefs statistics for probloggerAbove: Ahrefs statistics for ProBlogger

And they keep getting better for DPS…

31 days to build a better blog review ahrefs statistics for digital photography schoolAbove: Ahrefs statistics for Digital Photography School

In short, even though Darren Rowse is something of a superstar in the blogging world, I’m not convinced he’s had much experience starting a successful blog from scratch in the last decade or so.

Which may explain why I found his 31 Days training to be quite disappointing.

Are 31 Days To Build A Better Blog students getting results?

It’s hard to tell.

Although I believe that 31 Days To Build A Better Blog is an okay course – especially for the price – I didn’t find many testimonials during my research.

Even worse, only two testimonials on the sales page talk about specific results achieved from following the training…

31 days to build a better blog review student result31 days to build a better blog review student testimonial

For such a highly-praised course from a popular blogger, I would have expected to see far more recent testimonials.

But such reports seem to be rare for students of 31 Days.

How much does 31 Days To Build A Better Blog cost?

31 Days To Build A Better Blog has a one-time fee of $99

With that, you get lifetime access to the training.

There’s also a $49 upsell called ProBlogger’s Create Content Course. Even though it appears right after you pay for 31 Days, I didn’t find it to be overly aggressive.

The sales page does not mention this, but keep in mind that you’ll probably need some extra money for an autoresponder and some other tools recommended within the training.

And if you don’t have a blog yet, you will also need to pay for a domain and hosting.

31 Days To Build A Better Blog Discount?

I’ve searched high and low for a discount or coupon code for 31 Days To Build A Better Blog, but have yet to find mention of one anywhere.

However, there is a place to enter a discount code on the 31 Days To Build A Better Blog checkout.

So it looks like you’ll have to pay the full price if you want access.

Refund Policy

The sales page for 31 Days To Build A Better Blog specifies a 60-day money-back guarantee…

If you are not satisfied with the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog course after 60 Days just let me know and I’ll refund your money – that’s how confident I am that this is a resource that will help you build a dramatically better blog.

I haven’t seen anyone reporting issues getting a refund on their purchase, so you can rest easy with this guarantee.

How is 31 Days To Build A Better Blog structured?

Here’s what the course looks like once you’re logged in…

31 days to build a better blog review course page

Just like its name suggests, the main training is broken up into 31 modules. It’s designed to be taken one module per day, but it does not limit you in any way.

You can go through the training at your own pace, totally up to you. But because the training covers so many different topics, I’d recommend going through it small doses.

Each day has a main lesson and side activities. Most of the main lessons are in video format, although there are some that are only presented through text. Each side lesson seems to only have text.

I found most of the modules to be fairly short, so completing one per day shouldn’t be much of a challenge. They’re also easy to navigate, as the sidebar with the full list of lessons is available to you at all times.

One thing that I found irritating was the search function. It’s great that it exists – not every course has a search function – but at the same time, it’ll often refer you to a lesson from another Problogger course you don’t have access to. You don’t know until you click through from the search results page if the resource is available to you or not 😡

But here’s the bigger issue with the training…

Not only does most of the content seem quite basic, it doesn’t appear to have been updated much in recent years. The sales page claims the course has received a “recent” facelift, but I still found the majority of the lessons to be thin and outdated.

They really don’t go deep on any topic. It’s mostly theory or instructions for you to brainstorm ideas, and they often simply link out to further info on their blog or YouTube channel from several years ago (i.e free content you can find without paying for the training).

Plus, there are some big holes in the training. For example, there is barely any mention of keyword research as a way to generate article ideas. I’d argue that this is a crucial and fundamental part of blogging nowadays, but you’d never know that from 31 Days To Build A Better Blog.

Sadly, the Facebook group for the training also looks completely deserted. I expected to see both more members and much more activity in it.

31 days to build a better blog review facebook community activity

Even worse, almost 2 weeks after requesting access to the Facebook group as a paying customer, I was still waiting to get approved!

A few things to like about 31 Days To Build A Better Blog…

Low price to access the training.60-day money-back guarantee.Lessons taught by a superstar blogger (Darren Rowse). No shady marketing tactics.Red Flags 🚩

A few things about 31 Days To Build A Better Blog that might give you pause…

Lack of significant success stories from students.Doesn’t go deep on any topic; mostly high-level theory.Lack of practical step-by-step instruction. Seems much of the core training hasn’t been updated for several years. No mention on sales page of expenses beyond the price of the training.Private Facebook group appears to be abandoned.Other things you should knowYou’ll find some handy downloads within the training, including worksheets, video slides, audio versions of some lessons, etc.👇 Subscribe to eBiz Weekly 👇

Should you join 31 Days To Build A Better Blog?

I’m hesitant to recommend anyone sign up for this ProBlogger training.

IMO, there are some big holes in it, they don’t go deep on any topic, much of the content is outdated, and the private community has been abandoned.

The saving grace of the course is that it’s relatively inexpensive and it has that 60-day refund policy. So if you’re on a tight budget and want some kind of structured training to guide you as a brand new blogger, 31 Days might indeed help you build a better blog.

Just don’t expect this training to solve all your blogging woes or turn you into a pro blogger.

But Before You Start A Side Project…

Words from an interview with John Doherty of Credo ($45k/month) and EditorNinja ($4.5k/month)…

Only once you’ve stabilized that first business and have a team running it, including an operator with strong business ops experience, should you look to start another business.

🕵️‍♂️ Diving deeper on John’s businesses, Credo is a marketplace for digital marketing and development agencies. He started that in 2013.

EditorNinja is a productized service started in 2020, providing “Unlimited On-Demand Professional Copy Editing & Proofreading Services For Agencies And In-House Content Teams.”

Words from John again…

My businesses mainly grow through SEO and content marketing — mostly blogging and creating pages around the main services that we offer. I distribute content and tell the world about what we do through being a podcast guest on a lot of shows.

Deal of the Week: Helium 10

Proving that NFTs aren’t dead, last month the NF-Tim project sold out their collection of 9999 NFTs in one hour, banking about $530,000 💰

Apparently it took the team behind the project “11+ months of hard work” to build and launch it.

And these NFTs aren’t just fancy photos of apes; sounds like they actually have some solid utility, giving owners access to premium web design and development tools.

Trojan Horse Marketing

Mike Salguero is the founder of ButcherBox, an organic meat 🥩 delivery subscription service that does about $500 million in annual revenue.

Mike talks about his entrepreneurial journey on a recent episode of How I Built This.

At about the 60-minute mark, he mentions the “trojan horse” marketing strategy ButcherBox used to get food and diet influencers to promote them 😎

Instead of asking an influencer straight up if they would promote ButcherBox, they reached out and asked if they could include a recipe from the influencer’s website in the boxes they sent out to customers. Each recipe card would feature the influencer’s headshot and website…

These influencers were like, “Yeah that sounds awesome, of course you can use my recipe, make sure you have my website on there. And by the way, what do you guys do?” And we’re like, this is what we do, and by the way we’re launching a referral program so if you want to become an influencer for us, we’d love to have you.

In essence, ButcherBox was giving the influencers something – free publicity – before asking for anything in return.

This is a classic persuasion tactic, covered in-depth in the Reciprocation chapter of the book Influence by Robert Cialdini 📖

Over the past 4 years, he’s launched 19 products via ProductHunt (see them all listed here).

Apparently six of those products have been acquired for a total of $418,000 💰

According to Mohd’s website, one product alone (NoCodeAPI) was acquired for 6 figures.

That’s all the more impressive when you read up on Mohd’s background 👈

Some highlights…

To come through all that and become a successful online entrepreneur… that’s some impressive resilience 💪

Keep Mohd in mind when you’re going through a tough time with failure/rejection.

$600/Month From 2 Typo Domains

I mentioned Damon Chen of Testimonial.to a few weeks back.

He’s built that business from a hobby project to $300,000+ so far this year 🚀

He recently tweeted that he owns two “typo domains” for the business…

testimonial.iotestimonials.to

Both redirect to his site and Damon has tracked a total of 29 paying customers coming through them over the past 3 months.

That adds up to about $600 in additional MRR for his business and “they require no effort to maintain” 😎

This reminds me: back in the early days of the internet, typo domains were really big business. A guy named Kevin Ham accumulated 300,000 domain names and was generating an estimated $70 million in annual revenue.

Speaking of Sam Parr, he sold his business to HubSpot a couple of years ago for “tens of millions of dollars.” (full story here)

In this short video he shares what kind of business he’d build if he were starting over again…

Starting a blog is one of the best business decisions you can make as a beginner. The money you earn from blogging can bring in some serious cash, and potential clients that you meet through your blog will help to build your brand.

One thing I’d add is that you can make good money as a blogger away from your own blog, via freelancing. Start your own blog, sure, but also offer your services as a freelance blogger. You’ll gain valuable experience that way and can start earning a good income much faster.

Tim Stoddart writes

At the beginning of the year, I decided I was going to invest in growing my personal brand on social media. I’ve gained thousands of subscribers and generated an addition $11,000 a month in revenue.

He goes on to explain how he did it 📝

(Tim was already a successful entrepreneur before he started focusing on building his personal brand, but lots of good takeaways from him even if you’re just starting out.)

His advice for creating content that goes viral…

it’s impossible to predict what content will go viral, so your highest probability of success is to publish as much content as you can and letting the social media gods determine which content will spread.

$24K/Month Shopify Dev Agency

Oliver Green shares how he started Create Circus, a UK-based Shopify development agency, “during the later end of the pandemic.”

They’ve grown quick 📈

Today Create Circus turnover around $24,000 a month with two amazing full-time project managers and three full-time developers.

Oliver says that “it took less than $2,500USD to officially launch Create Circus” and it sounds like he didn’t have a ton of experience with Shopify beforehand.

So he focused on basic projects and charged $300 to $500 per project.

Two takeaways here…

1⃣You don’t need much skill or money to get started. Just start taking on projects and learn as you earn.

2⃣ There are a lot of different platforms you can focus on as a web developer nowadays. Back when I was doing freelance web dev, it was mainly just WordPress or custom-coded websites.

Now there are tons of platforms like Ghost, Shopify, Webflow, etc. Play around with a few, pick the one you most like working with, then use this process to find your first clients.

The Price To Be Paid

🏀 Words from the book Wooden by legendary college basketball coach John Wooden…

People usually know what they should do to get what they want. They just won’t do it. They won’t pay the price. Understand there is a price to be paid for achieving anything of significance. You must be willing to pay the price.

Btw, you can read that book for free with a 60-day trial of Scribd.

Jordan’s system aims to help you make money online with lead generation.

Rank And Rent Lead Generation Coaching Program – Key Points

  About

Lead generation training by Jordan Stambaugh.

💰  Price

“a few thousand dollars” (more info)

Overall RatingIncomplete/5 View Alternatives

About our 31-factor editorial review processHow does Rank And Rent Lead Generation Coaching Program help you make money?

Rank And Rent Lead Generation Coaching Program aims to teach you how to start a lead generation business.

Lead generation is when you find prospective customers (eg. people who need to hire a landscaper) online via paid ads, social media or search engine optimization. You then sell these “leads” to a related business (eg. a local landscaper) for a fee.

Learn more about lead generationHow much does Rank And Rent Lead Generation Coaching Program cost?

Jordan doesn’t seem to mention the price of the training anywhere, only that it costs “a few thousand dollars”, and that there is a monthly payment plan.

We have seen unverified reports that lifetime access to the course costs around $5,000.

Keep in mind that you’ll probably need a little extra money to spend on email marketing software and paid ads to make full use of the course.

Rank And Rent Lead Generation Coaching Program Discount?

We searched high and low but haven’t found any legit discount info for Jordan’s course.

But given that you have to get on a call with Jordan to join the training, you could always try to negotiate the price with him 😉

Refund Policy

The sales page for the training specifies an action-based money-back guarantee…

This is my guarantee – if you follow and complete the entire process and still cannot produce a valuable asset (an asset that is generating leads and is sellable to a local business owner) then I will refund 100% of your tuition. You must be able to prove that you followed the entire process so keep your records organized.

One Man, $13 Million A Year$603/Month Selling Reels Templates8 Amazing Ideas, Frameworks, TrendsShortcut to Software Success$60K/Month B2B Marketing Community$3000/Month Super-Niche CommunityLatest MomentosAugust Finance ReportDifferent AnimalsOne Man, $13 Million A Year

Jon Davids did some sleuthing on a company called Digital Inspiration, started and run by a guy called Amit Agarwal in Uttar Pradesh, India 🇮🇳

Amit pulls in an estimated $13 million per year – though perhaps as much as $30 million per year – via several simple “niche plug-ins for google apps like gmail and docs.”

Apparently Amit’s first plugin was this Mail Merge for Gmail, which has been downloaded 7.5 million times. It’s a freemium plugin with upgraded versions available for $39 to $79 per year 😎

Jon writes…

So if even 5% of these downloads end up in a paying user, that’s $1.5M in annual recurring revenue. And I’m sure it’s more than that. He has customers like Uber and Zoom who are paying for 100’s of enterprise users. Those licenses are printing money.

Among Amit’s other apps…

Document Studio for Google Sheets – 6.7M downloads – $79-99/year premiumEmail Notifications for Google Forms – 10M downloads – $39-79/year premiumSave Emails from Gmail to Google Drive – 2M downloads – $79-99/year premium

I think the key for Amit is that he has been building an audience via his blog since 2004. According to SimilarWeb, the site gets 5.2 million visits per month, and about a third of that traffic comes from the US 🇺🇸

According to Ahrefs, this reverse image search feature on the site brings in 1.5 million visitors per month on its own. Amit has some Google ads on that page, which could earn him as much as $200,000 per month (source) 🤯

$603/Month Selling Reels Templates

Maxim Kartuzov – aka Null Root – tweets that he built this app with his girlfriend in 5 weeks…

Reels Templates is an app which provides the most trendy reels templates in one place and updates them every week!

5 weeks after launch…

⬇ Downloads: 3.4k
🤑 Paid subscribers: 121
💰 MRR: $603

The Reels app isn’t Maxim’s first rodeo; he has several other apps online including this freemium collage and poster maker which apparently has 5+ million downloads.

Template businesses are always interesting to me, as they can be quite simple and scalable 📈

Some I’ve featured in this newsletter before…

Jakob Greenfeld lists them here 👈

A few that caught my eye…

People are increasingly interested in floor desksMany industries need a Glassdoor-type website to provide more trustworthy reviews“Lett: help farmers sell their produce directly to consumers.”Shortcut to Software Success

Sukh Sidhu writes about buying a software product for personal trainers, rather than building one from scratch…

For us to build what Stridist was at that point would have easily cost $150k+ and probably taken 6-12 months at least

He bought Stridist for 5 figures, invested another 4 months in (re)developing the app, then relaunched in April. As of July, it was at about $30,000 MRR and Sukh said he still has “no idea what I’m doing” 🤷‍♂️

Seems Sukh already had a pretty big audience in the fitness niche, so buying-rather-than-building a software product was a smart shortcut to leverage that audience into a profitable business.

He found Stridist for sale via MicroAcquire. I currently see 2000+ startups for sale there, including ~300 for $1000 or less.

Just know that software is a tough business, as Sukh has attested to

After launching a saas in April at the age of 35
I’ve aged 14 years and will be turning 50 in January

19 Types Of Online Business – Which Is Right For You?How Andrew Scaled MicroAcquire To $10 Million$60K/Month B2B Marketing Community

It’s called Exit Five, and it apparently has 3000+ members paying $20 per month 💰

It was started by Dave Gerhardt, who tweets that he left his job as a marketing exec last year, and now earns 4-5x more income running his solo company than at his old job.

But mind the asterisk…

*Yes, there was an heck of a lot of hard work (over a decade, working for others from 2010 – 2021) and an incredible amount of luck and good fortune to be able to do this.

The blueprint seems to be…

Get really good at your craft while earning a living working for othersBuild up an audience and personal brand on the sideEventually leverage that to go do your own thing$3000/Month Super-Niche Community

I stumbled across Mothers Together via an interview on Side Hustle Nation 👈

It’s self-described as…

A Support Group-Style Community for Mothers Raising Neurodivergent, Out-Of-The-Box Kids

Megan Champion is the founder, and herself the parent of a neurodivergent child. She started a podcast 🎙 to talk about the “challenges of raising a neurodivergent child and the self-imposed guilt, blame, and anxiety that goes along with it.”

I like Megan’s story because she started from scratch, with barely any audience to speak of, just a tiny following on Instagram. Her podcast and social seem to have grown largely by word of mouth 💬

Several months after starting the podcast in early 2021, she launched her community and it now has 100+ members paying $20-40 per month. And I reckon she’s just scratching the surface.

My takeaway here is that it’s not just career experience you can build an online community around, but also life experience. If they don’t already exist, I suspect there may be a market for paid communities in niches such as…

Caring for elderly or disabled relativesRecovering from an abusive childhoodRecovering from an abusive relationshipDealing with bereavement

You could even go more niche by making such a community country or language specific 🤔

And, like Megan, you wouldn’t need to be a qualified expert in the topic to create a community around it. You could be the person who organizes everything and brings in experts to share their knowledge.

Different Animals

From Paul Graham’s essay, You Weren’t Meant to Have a Boss

I was in Africa last year and saw a lot of animals in the wild that I’d only seen in zoos before. It was remarkable how different they seemed. Particularly lions. Lions in the wild seem about ten times more alive. They’re like different animals. I suspect that working for oneself feels better to humans in much the same way that living in the wild must feel better to a wide-ranging predator like a lion. Life in a zoo is easier, but it isn’t the life they were designed for.

James’ course aims to teach you the business of lead generation.

Lead generation – which James also refers to as digital real estate – is when you find prospective customers (eg. people who need to hire a landscaper) online via paid ads, social media or search engine optimization. You then sell these “leads” to a related business (eg. a local landscaper) for a fee.

How does BYE University help you make money?

Build Your Empire University mainly teaches you how to promote Enagic water filtration machines, which cost about $5000 or more.

But first you need to buy one of the machines yourself. That way, you’ll get a distributor ID, which you can use to sell machines to other people and earn commissions.

The more sales you have, the higher your tier will be. And the higher your tier, the more money you can earn per sale.

This is classic Multi-Level Marketing.

While you can make thousands of dollars with each sale in tier 6A, the highest one, I suspect it’s much harder to get there than Brodie claims.

The course also teaches you other skills, such as social media management, copywriting, and email marketing. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the goal behind this is to further utilize your experience as a commission-based salesperson for Enagic.

Learn more about multi-level-marketing

Who is Build Your Empire University for?

BYEU sells itself primarily as a platform for beginners.

From their official FAQ…

Yes, we have comprehensive training so even the ultimate beginner can achieve success online.

I agree that the training is comprehensive, but given the tiny success rate of MLM participants, I don’t think this is a reliable way for anyone to make money online.

That said, if you’re a fan of MLM schemes and enjoy being a salesperson, you might find some value here.

70+ ways how to make money online (including easy options)Does Brodie Nitro have a good reputation?

It’s complicated.

Brodie barely has any following online; the only platform I found where he has a significant number of followers is TikTok. I can’t confidently say that BYEU is his main source of income, and even the training itself is tough to evaluate.

According to a 2020 podcast interview, Brodie also has something of a checkered past…

Brodie courageously shares his experience living life in two extremes: One being in his past, struggling with his mental health, getting in with the wrong crowd and soon enough was looking at getting charged with multiple criminal charges. He spent some time in prison, then upon release he began to turn his life around for the better.

Okay, we’ve all done stupid things in the past, so we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt there.

However, what gives me the most pause is that there is a lack of testimonials that talk about actual results from BYEU students, yet the training has a perfect rating on Trustpilot. Very strange.

Below is a video from Brodie’s YouTube channel so you can get a feel for his style…

And, of course, Brodie’s training has extremely strong MLM vibes, even though it seems to avoid using the term Multi-Level Marketing. Keep in mind that many people consider MLMs to be unethical, and in some countries they are even illegal.

Are Build Your Empire University students getting results?

Browse through the official BYEU websites and you’ll find no shortage of student testimonials.

However, pretty much every success story I’ve seen here comes down to empty platitudes instead of mentioning any plausible results.

Even looking at the Trustpilot page for the training doesn’t seem to help much…

build your empire university review student results

The whole page is filled to the brim with vague testimonials like this. Even worse, most of the reviewers haven’t written another review on Trustpilot. Very suspicious, if you ask me.

For such a highly-praised and popular course, I would have expected to see far more recent testimonials. But such reports seem to be rare for students of Build Your Empire University.

How much does BYE University cost?

You can get a 7-day trial for just $1.

Once the 7 days run out, you’ll need to pay $99 per month to keep access to the training.

In other words, the training itself will cost you $1188 for a full year.

Then there are the additional costs…

First of all, you’ll need to get a distributor ID by buying a water filtration machine. You’d effectively be selling it to yourself for $4,980.

However, the training advises you to buy the Enagic Trifecta instead, which consists of three products. It gives you bigger commissions, but costs $8630.

There are also various monthly expenses, such as those for an email autoresponder and paid ads. Expect these to cost you up to $500.

Add all of these up and you’re looking at nearly $7000 worth of expenses. If you ask me, that is WAY too high an expense for beginner marketers 😕

Build Your Empire University Discount?

I’ve searched high and low for a discount or coupon code but have yet to find mention of one anywhere.

Sorry guys: it’s full-price or nothing.

Refund Policy

The sales page for BYEU specifies a 7-day money-back guarantee for the trial version…

“I know, it sounds crazy, but if for whatever you don’t get just $1 value out of our platform during the 7 days trial, we’ll even refund you the dollar!”

According to the training’s Refund policy page, you have another 7 days to request a refund for the first month.

There are no refunds after this period, nor are there refunds for the following months…

To receive a refund, you must submit your request by 23:59 on the 14th day after the $1 initial purchase. Refunds will not be sent for more than 14 days from the date of purchase.

How is BYE University structured?

Here’s what the training looks like once you’re logged in…

build your empire university review training page

It’s divided into three main parts:

Core trainingIgnite Your BusinessAdditional Training.

I didn’t find the core training particularly useful because it seems to go over mindset-related matters more than anything else. Given the training’s strong MLM vibes, perhaps this shouldn’t be surprising.

The Ignite Your Business module is a bit scattered, IMO. It goes over affiliate marketing, video marketing, Facebook, and swipe ads.

This might have been fine if the training didn’t come back to all this at some point later during the course. I’m also not a fan of naming the modules “Phase One”, “Phase Two”, etc.

In my opinion, the biggest issue here is that there’s no search function. There are so many modules that some students may find it hard to navigate.

Nevertheless, I found the training surprisingly comprehensive. The core modules may be a bit too basic for some marketers, but others make up for that by teaching you many additional skills.

Perhaps the best thing about the training is the community. It seems rather active, with admins jumping in to help students and often hosting various live calls.

build your empire university review community activity statusGreen Lights 🟢

A few things to like about Build Your Empire University (BYEU)…

Active and supportive private community. The 7-day trial only costs $1.The training is comprehensive.Live group calls.Red Flags 🚩

A few things to be wary of regarding Build Your Empire University (BYEU)…

Lack of significant success stories from students.Recurring monthly expense to keep access to the training.Way too MLM-y for my liking.Sales pages provide no info about how much money you’ll need to invest in your business beyond the price of the training. No search functionality; hard to find specific lessons.Training often feels disjointed and hard to navigate.Other things you should knowSome of the lessons are made primarily for audiences in the US, Canada, and Australia. Because these lessons are often taught by different people, you may find their outlooks to be different too.One of the dangers of BYEU is that many students end up promoting Enagic. So if you are successful in earning money by selling Enagic products, you are likely to end up dependent on that one company for your income. If at some point Enagic decides to stop selling their products – highly unlikely, but possible – then you no longer have a business.Keep in mind that this training will not turn you into an entrepreneur, even though it claims it will. You’re not going to create a business with it, but rather become part of an MLM network.👇 Subscribe to eBiz Weekly 👇

Should you join BYEU?

If you are new to entrepreneurship and are looking for a quick and easy way to make money online, I reckon you’ll end up very disappointed with BYE University.

However, the 7-day trial is so cheap that it may be worth your while. I’m hesitant to recommend anyone go down the MLM path, but the training can teach you some decent fundamentals about online marketing if you put in the time and know when to move on.

On the flip side, if you’re a big fan of Brodie Nitro and are eager to learn about MLMs from him in particular, the BYEU could be a worthwhile investment for you. You’ll likely find some good tips, processes and mentors within the training and private community.

But again, don’t expect to earn a good income from BYEU or any other MLM training program.
