It's harder to keep going but it's those that stick with it and write every day to keep that dream alive. Absence doesn't always make the heart grow fonder, it can put such distance between you and the characters on your page that you might never get to fully know them and finish their story. Don't edit your first draft. Just write. Get to the part where you can type THE END. For me, it proved I could write a whole book. That was a defining moment for me. It took me two years, but I did it. Since them I've written seven manuscripts, two of which are published and another one, Footloose & Faerie Free is about to be self published in August on Amazon and Smashwords. Go for it. Finish that empty page, one at a time. (less)

In fact, I quite often write out of sequence because I'm stuck. I often don't know the reason why I write something down and then discover an aha moment later on in the manuscript. I trust my instinct in this area a lot. Mostly because I'm more of a panther than a plotter, although having an plan of sorts does help you to keep on track and stops you from wandering off in all directions trying to find the answer.(less)

Hi there - It's been a while since I last blogged, but I've been a busy writer and nana!  Pull up a cuppa and have a wee read of what's being going on in my world over the past couple of months. My darling grandsons keep me every so busy, while still working full-time and fitting in writing when and where I can.  I've been working on a romantic comedy, Tart vs. Shortcake, and have been undecided...
