Vesna Kurilić is a Croatian author and werewolf loving librarian.

When she’s not busy editing her abysmal first drafts and plotting away new stories, she's probably watching the CW, playing the ukulele or dedicating a surreal amount of time to reading queer romance.

She earned her first SFERA award in 2012 for a short story about a werewolf family that accidentaly adopted a pair of vampire twins, and the second one in 2017 for Izazov krvi, her first novel in print, but the fifth one she’s written (good riddance!). She was awarded the Artefakt award for the same novel in her Jotunn!Loki cosplay because she really likes being blue.

From Enemies to Lovers: a Sequel Story in 6 Acts

I’m almost a full week into my first ever sequel (if you don’t count short story cycles – I first did those in primary school), and I’m kinda sorta actually getting hopeful and having fun? The trick is – I’m writing it for the second time. I’ve had a few thousand words written in it at a certain point in late 2017 (I think?), then it got rejected for a local grant I’d applied to, and I let it s...

I seem to enjoy reading cozy mysteries, even though I've never written one, and this book proved a short and interesting insight into what actually makes a cozy mystery functional. Would definitely reccomend.

Lemony Snicket
“For some stories, it's easy. The moral of 'The Three Bears,' for instance, is "Never break into someone else's house.' The moral of 'Snow White' is 'Never eat apples.' The moral of World War I is 'Never assassinate Archduke Ferdinand.”
