Announcing Terminal Thirteen

Roleplayers and nerds take note, there is a new RPG in town and it is good. [caption id="attachment_4528" align="alignright" width="300"] The Terminal Thirteen Logo Terminal Thirteen[/caption]

It is the game the the real Desi decided to 'play herself' in that lead to the Paradox War Trilogy (although perhaps not directly as only a few scenes from the game made it all the way into the novels).

It's a game I started developing back in the late 80s, and played in school, and throughout University under a number of names and incarnations. This version is the definitive, most balanced and most fun version of the game so far. And I hope you will give it a go if you like RPGs at all.

The pages are still a little "work in progress" right now, with too few images for me to consider making an actual book of it yet, and I am working on some pages to automate some of the fiddly parts of character creation and so on (which is tricky to tie into the Wordpress architecture, but I'm sure I'll get there), but what you should have is a full roleplaying system that you can play for free.

The system can handle playing any sort of character you may care to imagine, once years ago a friend of a friend was asked what he wanted to play, he asked what the limits were, I told him there were none, people had played gods, demi-gods, children, real people, wizards, warriors, and werewolves. He asked smirking if he could play a 'Half-Borg-half-Q' character, I smiled and told him, of course he could, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun as he thought, a character that powerful just wouldn't be fun, unless he was also a Sith Lord... Munchkins aside though, really, if you can imagine it, the core system will let you play it, and what's more you'll be balanced against the others in your party and still have room to improve and progress.

As far as I know it is the only Omniversal Roleplaying Game, that without any extra modules or purchases will literally let you play anything. If you want to run not just any genre, but any genre-mash, then T13 is the system that will let you do it. You can run games set anywhere, anywhen, anyhow and don't even have to have all the player characters be from the same universe, its just that flexible.

Writers may find the way the game handles plots useful for their own plotting, as the system gives Refs (and writers) delicious new ways to think about symbolism, central conflicts, characterizations and story-telling. This isn't the sort of game where you find every session is telling the same story, or that your players get bored of your main plot, at least mine never have.

Why not take a look and let me know what you think.

Welcome to CJMoseley.com

[caption id="attachment_3408" align="alignleft" width="200"] Author photograph Welcome to my site[/caption]

I'm CJ Moseley author of the Paradox War trilogy: “ An0ma1y ”, " Cu1ture B0mb " and " Chronoclysm " which are currently available as ebooks for Kindle on Amazon, so far they have been well received and people seem to be enjoying Desi, Garner and Teucoi's story, if you haven't read any of them then you should go and download "An0ma1y" from Amazon for just 77p in the UK (Americans will have to pay $0.99, plus taxes) you can convert the .mobi for your eReader (if you aren't a Kindle owner), or even just read the free excerpt - if you like it review it, or just let me know, I love to hear what people think of my books.

This site is my place to collect my thoughts from across the vastness of cyberspace and pass comment on those things I find important. You will find all manner of goodies and nuggets hiding here. A fair amount of my content here consists of reblogs and links to cool things I've found, but I'll always add my own blend of science-fiction, fantasy, madness or cynicism (sarcasm included free!) to anything I've found. You can also find short stories and some other interesting posts, with more irregular features than you can shake a stick at.

You'll find navigation in the top-left tab, and some interesting stuff down the sides. At the moment I'm still adding pages and posts to the T13 RPG, but you can get an overview of the game as I'm posting and offer feedback in a D&D Next kind of way (only without the constant reversals and adding of modules). Complex characterizations, easy playing rules and an emphasis on story-telling and roleplaying, what roleplayer could want more?

In the meantime enjoy the site.  Why not drop me a comment somewhere and say 'Hi,' and tell me what you think about the posts, the site or my books, otherwise this is just me stood in a dark corner of the Internet yelling at the walls, or share a comment on twitter with a link to my story and my highly trained Cyberpixies and Demons will track you down... just try and see...

I even welcome you spambots with your wildly inappropriate comments— cuz you so funny you crazy spambots.

New Look Site

Well I finally got bored fiddling behind the scenes. And while some parts are still being worked on back here, I decided to release the new site look and feel upon you the unsuspecting public.
The new site theme should work well on all browsers, but if you are having problems with animations, try refreshing the page as this will often load a variant animation. I've also added a cut down mobile theme, incase you can't access the site.

In other news I have a short story underway (inspired by recent science news stories) which I will be making available on Amazon within a few days for a few cents. Hopefully I'll be producing a few more shorts along the way as well as starting the writing on 'Iron Master' very soon (I'm still planning it at the moment - it's a big project and I had little world-building done on this one).

Enjoy the new look site.

NB: I did briefly consider adding some google ads to this website, but google have shafted themselves by telling me that I can't have links to copyrighted material (you know the model their ENTIRE site is based around) which means I'd have to remove all the Reblogs from Tumblr and other wordpress sites (yeah, they are that strict- despite the fact that these are 'reblogs' and obviously link to the original content), or links to the sale of copyrighted materials. Since the only sales links on this site are to my copyrighted materials, I'm unsure who they are trying to placate. Basically Google Ads, you can't have them unless you make sure every scrap of data on your site is entirely original and you don't reference Amazon as well, since that's how I sell my stuff, bye Google ads before we even started.
