The Brown Dirt Cowboy came with me, and we took advantage of this unique chance to travel Down Under to tack a roadtrip on after the con. The whole thing was an amazing experience: we’re both still digesting what […]

Short book, 200 pages, a good and fast read. The only thing missing for me was addressing how the Septuagint stacks up as a translation of the proto-Masoretic Hebrew, as against the Masoretic which is the source of modern Bible translations. I would ...more

“Human identity is fundamentally an illusion; it’s an evolutionary overhang which lets us function as coherent self-aware animals. But, on a deep level, we have no real evidence that when we wake up we’re the same person who went to sleep.”
― Sarah Newton, Mindjammer

“accept a given set of assumptions about how the world is. Even intelligent people. And then we use our intelligence entirely within the framework of those assumptions, without ever realising that they might be wrong—might be misleading—even that they’re there at all.”
― Sarah Newton, Mindjammer

“If, after having been in someone's presence, you feel like you've lost a quart of plasma - avoid that presence. No one likes to hear the word "vampire" used around here... it's kind of bad for our public image.”
― William S. Burroughs
