Carlos grew up in Asheboro, North Carolina, where the only friends he had during his high school days were books. Stephen King Books. Ted Dekker books. Lemony Snicket books. And much, much more. He became inspired and started writing a novel, plus some short stories, which are listed below. He wrote his debut novel about mental health and is currently working a 40-hour-per-week warehouse job and enrolled in college full time, to complete an associate's in IT Networking by 2019. After switching careers, Carlos will revisit that novel he wrote that's been sitting in the drawer for far too long, and work extensively on it until it's ready for publication. And that's just the beginning . . . .

Stephen King
“If you can't laugh when things go bad--laugh and put on a little carnival--then you're either dead or wishing you were.”
Stephen King, Under the Dome

Markus Zusak
“Maybe everyone can live beyond what they're capable of.”
Markus Zusak, I Am the Messenger

Markus Zusak
“Usually we walk around constantly believing ourselves. "I'm okay" we say. "I'm alright". But sometimes the truth arrives on you and you can't get it off. That's when you realize that sometimes it isn't even an answer--it's a question. Even now, I wonder how much of my life is convinced.”
Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

Stephen King
“And I believe happiness is the exact opposite of sadness, bitterness, and hatred: happiness should remain unexamined as long as possible.”
Stephen King, The Tommyknockers

Suzanne Collins
“She's not here," I tell him. Buttercup hisses again. "She's not here. You can hiss all you like. You won't find Prim." At her name, he perks up. Raises his flattened ears. Begins to meow hopefully. "Get out!" He dodges the pillow I throw at him. "Go away! There's nothing left for you here!" I start to shake, furious with him. "She's not coming back! She's never ever coming back here again!" I grab another pillow and get to my feet to improve my aim. Out of nowhere, the tears begin to pour down my cheeks. "She's dead, you stupid cat. She's dead.”
Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay
