Brenda Corey Dunne grew up in rural New Brunswick, Canada. She originally trained as a physiotherapist and worked several years as a Physiotherapy Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force before meeting the love of her life and taking her release.

She completed her first full length manuscript in 2008 as a bucket-list item and since then she has self-published a work of YA historical fiction (TREASURE IN THE FLAME). DEPENDENT, an adult contemporary fiction, was published by Jolly Fish Press in July of 2014. SKIN, a YA paranormal, was published in June of 2016. She has several other manuscripts in various stages of completion. Brenda is represented by Frances Black of Literary Counsel.

I move a lot...my husband is an Air Force Officer and that means frequent relocations. There are still challenges...but all I need is a laptop and an active imagination and I can continue to work. I can create worlds based on these new locations, I can form characters based on people I meet and I can express my emotions in written form no matter where I am. SKIN's main character, Ocean, has facets taken from previous moves, and one of my currently unpublished manuscripts (tentatively called The Other Side of Home) is also a move-related story.

I love my portable career. (less)

One of my jobs at the Library Friends Bookshop is to sort donated books onto the appropriate shelves. It's a small task, but I really enjoy it because you never know what you are going to find in the donation bin. We get everything from recent bestsellers to thirty-year old textbooks, mint-condition vintage hardcovers to well-loved picture books.
