What is happiness like?

Short Story Happiness is like a zero-cost beauty treatment which makes your skin and soul glow. This beauty treatment forever suits your budget.

Happiness is like a sweet box. Everyone wants to open it and take hold of their share.

Happiness is like a true friend and the pleasure that comes with it.

Happiness is like a book; a door to a whole new world.

Happiness is like a soup. It helps you to stay in shape.

Happiness is like a scent. You cannot spread to others without getting a few drops on yourselves.

Happiness is like a TV channel, giving out all the time. You just need to learn how to tune in and receive it properly.

Happiness is like a ray of sunlight, which the slightest dusk captures.

Happiness is like secrecy, like faith, and should never be streamlined.

Happiness is like a Sky. It is limitless.

Happiness is like those fortresses in stories whose gates are protected by dragons and we must battle in order to triumph over it.

Happiness is like stars. It is countless.

Happiness is like a flame which lights our path to contentment.

Happiness is like a Sea. It is profound.

Moral: Everyone wants happiness, no one wants pain. But first, learn to recognize happiness.

Happy Reading!

Children Stories | Comparison is the thief of joy!

This image is of Short Story from India
A crow living in the forest was very happy in his life. One day he thought he should go to the other side of the forest to meet other animals. When he landed on the other side of the forest, he saw a peacock. Crow was fully immersed in peacock's beauty. He could not believe that such a beautiful bird existed on earth. He cursed his ugliness and said to the peacock, ‘Peacock you are so beautiful. Wish I could be as beautiful as you are.’

‘Even you can.’

‘What!’ the Crow expressed his surprise.

Peacock said to him that a few months back even he was as ugly as him.  He felt he should die and in depression, he went to Atlanta mountains and there he found a miracle well and drank its water and became so beautiful. Peacock suggested Crow go there too.

Crow excitedly flew to Atlanta Mountains. As soon as the crow flew, Peacock made crow’s fun with his friends. Peacock eagerly waited for the Crow to come back so that he could tease him.

But to the peacock’s shock, the crow came back happily. Crow thanked Peacock, he said, ‘because of your inaccurate information I flew and saw several beautiful places around Atlanta Mountains.’

Moral: Don't compare your insides to someone else outside.

Sati or Sunny

A happy couple living in Mumbai was blessed with twin daughters. Once they got their lovely daughters home, they decided to name them. The wife was spiritual and offered to name their daughters inspired by the name of Hindu Goddess. The husband silently agreed. They named one Sita and the other one Sati.  After a few years when girls grew 18 years old, Sati decided to change her name. She was not comfortable with her name. She believed her name should match her personality and her beautiful body. Though both twins looked very identical, still they were very different in their appearance. Sita was the girl next door and was always clad in Indian attire. She was very slim. At the same time, Sati had a curvy figure. She was brazen and was always clad in western attire. Her friends suggested her name change that would suit her well. She decided to change her name to Sunny.

Sati’s father was also against her name change. He tried to enlighten her.

‘What’s in a name and clothes; they don’t determine your character, do they?’ asked her father.

“No, they don’t,’ replied Sati.

‘Your mother feels you should be like Sita, who wears only Indian attire. While your friends feel you should change your name. Even you feel that. But I feel you should not, because your name change won’t add any value to your existence. But in a way you have been rated by your friends, mother and yourself. And you should not let them rate you. My two daughters are my pride and I trust my upbringing completely. It is sad that we live in a society where a woman’s character is rated accordingly to her clothes and name,’ he said.

Sati realized her father was correct and she didn’t change her name to Sunny.

Moral: Never let your name and clothes become a yardstick of your character.

A Secret admirer

A girl received a red rose bouquet from the courier person with a note: With love from your secret admirer. She scanned the bouquet and read the note. She had a college project to finish. She forced her mind not to think about the bouquet. But her mind refused to listen. Her entire day passed thinking who he could be, whereas her priority was her college project. In her mind she browsed names of the boy who proposed her, who were rumored to be in love with her. She then stared at the note, wondering whose handwriting it could be.

Whosoever you are you have a good handwriting.

She blushed. She hoped her secret admirer was as good looking as his handwriting was.

What if he was not good looking?

She decided to complain to her dad about the stalker, but only if he was not good looking. She then telephoned her best friend. She then thought it could be a prank by her friends.

After few hours..

She cursed herself for wasting long hours on the bouquet. She regretted not started her college project. Just then the doorbell rang. Again it was courier person and he said, ‘Sorry madam that bouquet was wrongly delivered to you.’

Moral: If the person is ugly you call him a stalker. If the person is good looking you call him a secret admirer.

THE PERFECT MATCH

Surekha’s parents were very happy. Their happiness today knew no limits.

Why were they so happy?

Had she cleared her exam with distinction marks? No.

Had she obtained a six figure salary job? No.

Then why were they so happy?

They were happy because they received a good marriage proposal for her.

A perfect match accordingly to her dad who never met this guy. For him, guy's engineering degree was good enough match for his BA pass daughter.

A perfect match accordingly to her mother who was not aware of guy’s philosophy. For her guy’s good financial status was good enough for the middle-class daughter.

A perfect match accordingly to her younger sister who has no idea of what was marriage all about. For her guy’s good looks were good enough for her average looking sister.

They all were happy, very happy. They knew only one think he was just perfect. Excluding Surekha who considered that the boy she would marry need not be perfect but should be honest.

Moral: I don’t want a perfect partner, I want honest one.
