Cintia, you are describing a very common situation for any writer!

For me, what often inhibits my writing is when my internal editor gets involved in the process too early and stifles my creativity, so I try not to let that happen. To get started on a story, I ask myself these questions: who is the story about, what do they want, and why can't they get it? And then I start writing, figuring out the story as I go. This process creates an awful first draft full of plot holes, but I just keep going forward, not stopping to edit, until I get to the end.

Every writer has a different process, but personally, I need to give myself permission to create a really messy first draft so I have something to work with. And then it's on to rewriting, which is at least as important as creating that first draft.

Good luck with your writing!(less)
