I was always taught--and this is the best writing advice I ever received--to just keep writing. Even if you know what's coming out is terrible, keep writing. What I usually end up doing instead is to whinge at my husband about my writer's block, but that sometimes helps me to work through it. I'm a talker, so I have to talk through things to get to the other side.(less)

I personally cannot read or watch things that have no hope. I want to put color and happiness in the world. It makes my heart happy to write something that brings light into someone else's life. On top of that, I love thinking "what if?". I'm so thankful for the ability to weave a new tale and dream up scenarios and creatures and characters. It's invigorating to me!(less)

A solid 4.5 stars. I liked this one even more than its predecessor. Like the first one, it’s a little hard to connect with the Dante and Iago because they’re demons and do horrible things to people, but I like that we get to see a bit more of what he ...more

This retelling had pretty much all the pieces I like. The world-building was really well done without being overbearing. It also takes a hard look at class issues and handles them very well. And thank goodness for a book with diversity! We had POC ch ...more

This is such a fun, sweet tale of a little goblin learning and finding his way through the world. It's full of adventure and humor and would be great for children (or grown-up children) of any age.
