Other times, I leave the writer's desk behind and get out of my routine.. enjoy a walk outside or do something that stirs my creative juices. I pretty much am so "full" of ideas that I don't have blocks so much as just moments of stagnation of which ideas to place where within the work I'm currently writing.

Right now, I'm writing my 3rd book in The Tapestry Series. While I've had the plot in my thoughts for a few years, I have not been able to actually sit and begin it until recently. I find that I'm having to revisit my setting, characters, etc from The Tapestry of A. Taylor and The Weaving of A Warrior to get back in the mindset. Once I get started though, it's hard to stop.

I've found that motivation (for anything) never comes until some action begins. So even if what I write while unmotivated is unusable later, it helps me to get in the grove to write anyway.

Hope this helps!(less)

I have so many novels to write that I constantly think about and add to throughout my day. I have completed a 3rd novel (completely unrelated to The Tapestry series) that I put on hold in order to write the sequel to The Tapestry of A. Taylor. Once I publish The Weaving of A Warrior, I am excited about dusting it off and editing it for publication by Christmas 2014! (less)

While ordering business cards/bookmarks today, I read many blogs about how to create a memorable card that will not be deposited into the nearest trash can. I really liked the idea of adding a memorable, meaningful quote to it (especially since it will be a bookmark). There are so many really thought-provoking quotes to choose from but I wanted one, preferably by an author, that would encompass... Read more of this blog post »
