Ever since I can remember, I've been a storyteller. Characters constantly walk onto the stage of my mind, introduce themselves, and talk to me about their lives. I also see snippets of scenes, hear pieces of dialogue, even smell particular scents--it's like watching chunks of wild, amazing movies play in my head. Some of those bits eventually begin making sense, and that's when I start the writing process in earnest.

Some might call me crazy! Others of you out there know exactly what I'm talking about because it happens to you, too.

I'm that rare creature--an actual Los Angeles native. I have a big, warm loving family and a small, loving circle of friends. I'm a hardcore fantasy and sci-fi geek, and I wear my geekhood proudly! I'm also a poli

I DO believe that, at times, the gift gushes like a fire hose, and at other times, it feels more like a drip-feeder. When I find myself struggling, when every single word is a battle to get down on the screen, I will take a break and watch TV, do chores around my house, read a book, or spend time on social media. Sometimes, it takes only an hour or two but sometimes it can take days before the logjam breaks. I never feel afraid, though, because my gift has never failed. Not once. (less)

Review of The Crown of Bones by Rosalyn Briar

The Crown of Bones The Crown of Bones by Rosalyn Briar

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you enjoy re-imagined tellings of well-known Eurocentric fairy tales, then this book is for you. Author Rosalyn Briar weaves multiple, familiar fairy tale characters into a fresh, original story that certainly kept my interest to the very end, which is quite the cliffhanger! My only criticism of the book is that at times, despite the Read more of this blog post »

“When there is a grand cause to be won, he said, sometimes, there are unavoidable casualties. None of us are happy about that, but it’s a painful reality. He paused and added, We’ve all accepted our culpability…”
Leslie Ann Moore, A Tangle of Fates

“The last remnants of Deanna the child--the idealist, the sheltered elite--had been torn loose by tonight's tragedies, slain with the same bullet that had felled her would-be killer. She had no idea who the new person inhabiting this shell of her old self would become. The realization frightened her.”
Leslie Ann Moore, A Tangle of Fates

“A flutter of bright green drew Deanna's focus out of the turbulent realm of her head and onto the flame-damaged storage shed. From the hold below the scorched eaves she saw the male paloma emerge and take flight. A few seconds later the drab brown female popped out. She soared after her mate.

Deanna gasped in shock, amazed that any creature could have survived.”

Margie Jimenez Hey Leslie. Thanks for the add. I'm so glad I found you and your books through this site. I'm a big fan of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy writing genre and I'm always looking for new books to read. I'll definitely be reading yours soon. I'm studying for a degree in Creative Writing at NYU and I'm not sure what my genre is yet. Although I love reading Sci-Fi/Fantasy it doesn't appear I'm good at writing it but who knows? Anyway thanks again. Have a great day!

Cameron Hello Leslie,

Thank you for accepting my invite (even if it was a while back - lol). I just received (finally!) a copy of Griffin's Daughter, and I very much look forward to reading it. I let you know what I think along the way.

Thanks again! :)

Cameron

Jessica I am glad to add you to my friends list Leslie Ann. I have added Griffins Daughter to my must reads. I will review it when I get through. Marian said I would enjoy it.
