The official stuff

Susan writes steamy, sexy and fun contemporary romance stories, some suspenseful, some gritty and dark and hopefully always entertaining. She’s also Editor in Chief at Divine Magazine, an online LGBTQ e-zine, and a member of The Society of Authors, the Writers Guild of Great Britain, and the Authors Guild in the US.

Susan is also an award-winning script writer, with scripts based on two of her own published works. Sight Unseen has garnered no less than five awards to date and her TV pilot, Reel Life, based on her debut novel, Cassandra by Starlight, was also a winner at the Oaxaca Film Fest.

Hi there Angie
I'm pleased you're loving the series! Absolutely there are more books. Next release will be Suit Yourself- Leslie's story #3 - and then Clay's will follow in Feat Of Clay #4. That's finished and ready to be submitted to my publisher. Then we'll have Lenny's story #5 - you'll meet him in Suit Yourself, and then Maxwell's #6. Finally I'll be doing Jax's story #7 and you'll get to meet him in Feat Of Clay. Who knows where it will go from there.... :)

Susan Nicol answered Shirley Goldberg's question: Susan Mac Nicol
Hi Shirley, lovely to hear from you.
I've always thought visually from childhood, and find it helps in business too. You imagine the scene in your head then convert that to words. Screenwriting helps a novelist to ensure every word they use has a use. See Full Answer

“Writing a book is an adventure. To begin with it is a toy and an amusement. Then it becomes a mistress, then it becomes a master, then it becomes a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster and fling him to the public.”

Tabitha McGowan Just reading 'Worth Keeping' and having to ration myself, because it's very lovely and I don't want to finish too soon. So to speak.

I love your writing - thank you!

message 16: by Susan

Susan Nicol Hi there thanks! Yes, I have an exclusive reveal for it with Totallybooked in the UK so I haven't started promoting it yet. So if you could keep it low key for now I'd appreciate it. I'm glad you liked it! BTW if you ever want something exclusive for you blog like an excerpt or a coda or something let me know I'd be happy to do something special for you :)

message 15: by Nic

Nic Hi Susan, I saw the YouTube book trailer for Worth Keeping. It's the first time I've seen a book trailer on YouTube where I wasn't already aware of the book so it seems to work as a marketing tool! The trailer looks great and the book sounds fabulous so I am really looking forward to reading it.

Susan Nicol Hi Dustin (or is that Dusty?)
I appreciate you askin' lol. It's great to meet you, I have a lot of online friends in Texas. Seems a great place to be.
I loved your author bio, I chuckled for ages. I hope that burly sexy cowboy rides by one day and sweeps you into his arms. I'm writing a gay male romance at the moment so we can swap stories! I'll give you a read too, if you're as quirky in there as you are on your author profile, I know I'm in for a good time *chuckle*

message 6: by Susan

Susan Nicol Hi Veronica
How could I not include Mr. Cumberbatch in my list, huge fan that I am. My hero in my debut novel, Bennett Saville, is modelled on him so I have to be :)
If it wasn't for me wanting to create a character based on him the book probably wouldn't have been written in the first place. I even dedicated it to him lol.

Veronica Thank you for the friendship request!
Loved to see you've listed Ben in your ifluences!such a wonderful actor and a lovely person (and yeah ok, hot as hell ahah)

Selena Blake Thank you for the friend request.

Happy Reading!

Good to be buddies. I love Sherlock Holmes too. I have to confess I have a bit of a thing for the new BBC Sherlock series which is brilliant. If you take a look at my website and blog you'll see just how much lol. I look forward to sharing posts and news with you on great books.

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* Thank you for the friend invite, Susan! I love Sherlock Holmes as well. In fact, I have been watching some of the Jeremy Brett series recently on DVD.
