AUTHOR BIO

Marthese Fenech is the number one bestselling author of epic historical novels set in sixteenth-century Malta and Istanbul. Research has taken her to the ancient streets her characters roamed, the fortresses they defended, the seas they sailed, and the dungeons they escaped.

Obstinate curiosity has led her to sixty-five countries across six continents. She does her best plot-weaving while hiking mountain trails, wandering local markets, paddle boarding cliff-sheltered bays, and sitting at home with her Siberian husky curled at her feet.

The youngest of five, Marthese was born in Toronto to Maltese parents. At twelve, she moved to Malta for six months and was enrolled in an all-girls private school run by nuns; she lasted three days

I often go back to earlier scenes and revise them, which exercises the literary muscles and gives rise to new ideas. I also find actual exercise to be very helpful--going for a run helps me to break through these blocks. Some of my best scenes have developed over a jog. The key is not forgetting anything before I make it home--inspiration to run faster.(less)

Elated to announce the launch of the audiobook version of my first novel, Eight Pointed Cross. I cannot begin to convey how beautifully narrator Simon Hester brings my story to life, nor can I properly express what a dream come true it is for me to hear my words read aloud by such a talented voice artist. To listen to my characters speak as though they are in the same room with me is something tha Read more of this blog post »

Falcon's Shadow by Marthese Fenech
"While Eight Pointed Cross (which I also awarded 5 Stars) takes a little to get going, as it has to acclimatize the reader to the time period and the characters, Falcon’s Shadow begins with a punch that leaves you breathless. The most horrific part ab" Read more of this review »

Katrina Passick Lumsden shared a note and highlight from
New Hope by Annabella Michaels
She’d always had her own unique style, not caring what anyone else thought of her. I’d always felt like her clothing was a perfect symbol of the woman who wore them. Funky, carefree, and full of life. This time, she was wearing a fuchsia shirt, a colorful skirt that hung loose, swaying around her ankles as she walked, and a pair of Birkenstock clogs.
Omfg that's so fucking UNIQUE, I can't even.
