What’s happening at THE FIREBALL PAD this week?

DanielBurnham

More like, what’s NOT happening?

I looked at my calendar for the week on Sunday when I got back from Chicago and it looked light. So I thought… that won’t do. Like Mr. Burnham says above, “Make no little plans…” So I got busy…

• Readership on The Wackadoodle has really increased now. Each morning I edit the best of what’s going on in the world regarding NEW MOVIES, the latest in CONCEPT CARS (The Frankfurt Auto Show is goin’ on…), some great artist revealing new CONCEPT ART and the over best in FUTURE DESIGN. Did you see Zaha Hadid’s winning design for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics? Just awesome…

• My new GALLERY on DeviantART is coming along nicely. Stop by and check out some of the other great artisans there. Very inspiring.

• Lunch with Fred LoBianco today of WORLD CLASS MOTORING. Going to discuss upcoming plans for the next Automotive Film Festival. Keep you posted. We’ll be at John’s Garden at noon, so stop by and say hi.

• My REVIEW of the 2013 Chrysler 200 will be going up this week also, so if you’re in the market for a cool sedan… this might be your bag.

• Car Show Season has begun and I’m looking forward to this months PALOS VERDES CONCOURS, THE ALT CAR EXPO, a great VIP Event at GALPIN AUTOSPORTS and CRUSIN’ FOR A CURE. I’ll be at all these to see some of the greatest Classics, Muscle cars and more. But this is only the tip of the iceberg, as they say. Soon, it’s SEMA, THE LA AUTO SHOW and so much more.

• My next book, Fireball Tim’s BIG BOOK of Wacky States is almost done, however, I may be looking for a new publisher. If any of you know of anyone in Children’s Publishing, let me know. We want to get this one in kid’s hands for sure. It’s gonna be awesome.

Louisiana640

• Filming a new episode of WACKY RIDES MONDAY. Airs on Friday. Why? Well, I’m just a little strange that way… Keepin’ you guys on your toes!

• Scheduling some new BOOK SIGNINGS at Barnes & Noble for the Holiday Season also. The Westlake Seminar went great and it looks like Calabasas is next up. Stay tuned…

Fireball recommends THE SHOOTING STAR SALESMAN by Kico Velarde…

Kico

People send me their films all the time, especially now that I’m hosting festivals. But every now and then, there’s a film I really have to highlight. This is THE SHOOTING STAR SALESMAN by my good friend Kico Velarde. A really great short film that is not only shot well, but envisions a unique story carried by actor .

Now, I could tell you a little bit of what this story is about, but best to use Kico’s description from Vimeo. Needless to say, Kathie and I were surprised at what he came up with as most people nowadays are using CG as the primary element to enhance their stories. But Kico’s short reminds me of the stories my Dad wrote in the 60′s for The Outer Limits and Twilight Zone. He concentrates on character and plot development. Take the time to watch this one. You’ll be glad you did…

Set in modern time, a 19th century ageless Salesman (Yancey Arias) has the magical ability to align individuals with their own unique shooting star to wish upon. His rare gift becomes a curse when he outlives his family, turning him into a recluse and breaking the magic of the shooting star machine. As he ventures out to restore people’s belief in shooting stars, he picks up a curious 8 year old tag along named Elijah (Elijah Velarde) who starts to question if perhaps it’s the Salesman himself who needs to have his faith restored. An unlikely partnership is formed as they embark on a journey to restore the faith of humanity. As their friendship grows, the Salesman is torn between continuing his legacy or renouncing his magical gift for the chance to reunite with the family he lost a lifetime ago.

Fireball drives the 2013 DODGE CHARGER SRT…

2013-Dodge-Charger0_Fireball-Tim

Some luxury sedans feel a bit like rolling couches. Some, heavy and sluggish, some light and eager. But when I got into the 2013 DODGE CHARGER SRT, I was struck by how it felt like I just put on a Muscle Suit. Everything was bulked up, although didn’t actually seem heavy.

The SRT is like a Gladiator. It’s wearing a tuxedo when it’s clean, but it wants to get dirty and drive. It wants to perform. Like a Gladiator in the original Colosseum in Rome, they awaited the fight with focused and impending energy, like how the Charger sits in a parking lot waiting for you to get back to business. But once you’re n, it says… “Let’s do this thing.”

2013-Dodge-Charger3_Fireball-Tim

Now, not everyone is looking for such a car. Not everyone wants to be Iron Man, but those looking for a Muscle Car that can double to the Oscars and give you an “I won” sort of attitude, then this is the car for you.

This SRT was fitted with a 370hp & 395lb-ft Hemi V8, so pulling all your friends for a night on the town makes what seems like a colossal feat… child’s play. You begin to wonder if there is anything this beast can’t do. The doors, trunk and hood slam with conviction like a vault. The thickness of the steering wheel and seats convince you that it’s time for a protein shake and an hour on the cycle. If you’re gonna take on this car, then you need to get lean and mean. And this is why cops love it… Or love to chase it.

2013-Dodge-Charger1_Fireball-Tim

My money is on a drastic improvement in these model for the coming years. A 2015-16 all new version should be just what it already is… lean and mean. But, does it beg an original 2 door coupe version still? I’d bet my last buck.

The phases of SAMMY… #dogs #cockerpoo #pets

Sammy1

Sammy is a Cocker Poo. You may not know it when she looks into your eyes and mental telepathizes you into doing things. You’d swear she’s got a hold on you… and you’ll do just about anything.

But sometimes… just sometimes, we get the upper hand. Like a hair cut. Well, at least you THINK you’re getting the upper hand when suddenly WHAM! You’re at the beach playing ball and you have no idea how you got there! DANGIT!!! Check it out…

As of today, the days of the Burj Khalifa being the tallest building in the world are numbered. Architect Adrian Smith (Trump Tower Chicago) has designed Saudi Arabia’s KINGDOM TOWER in JEDDAH. And it’s a beast…
