Ellen Mansoor Collier is a Houston-based freelance writer and editor whose articles, essays and short stories have been published in a variety of national magazines. She's interviewed Suze Orman and Nancy Brinker and several unsung heroines for BIOGRAPHY and FAMILY CIRCLE magazines. In the 1990s, she reviewed mysteries for The Houston Chronicle, which was like a crash course in writing novels.

A flapper at heart, she's worked as a magazine editor/writer, and in advertising and public relations (plus endured a hectic semester as a substitute teacher). Between journalism jobs, she managed an antiques shop, leading to a fascination with the 1920s and Art Deco design. During college summers, she worked as a reporter for a Houston community news

I love the 1920s era and think it opens up all sorts of possibilities for an ambitious young reporter trying to make her mark in a male-dominated business. So nice to know you're enjoying my novels so far! Stay tuned and I'll be sure to let you know if I do continue the series. Thanks so much for your thoughtful question--keep in touch!

Flappers, Flasks and Foul Play by Ellen Mansoor Collier
"4.5 stars. I'm a sucker for '20's and '30's books and this is a pretty darn good mystery. It could have used a bit of an epilogue, but perhaps that will lead off Book 2. I will be looking for that one soon."
