Spring is Near
It seems to me that spring is near,
although the wind is cold.
The daffodils appear in clusters,
blooming cream and gold.
The sky is often filled with clouds;
the snow, it too may come,
but nonetheless, I see the signs;
spring will soon be home.

Winter

Raindrops splatter against the window panes. In anticipation, we watch for the watery drops to turn to fluffy white snowflakes. Bare branches stand out against the white clouded sky. The chickens shake and ruffle their feathers, guarding against the freezing temperatures. The landscape is bleak except for the great fir and pine trees that appear bold green against the brown of the rest of the world. Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving. A day dedicated to giving thanks. It reminded me of how much I take for granted. Stopping to look around, take in the blessings, the sight of friends and families, the warm feeling of love, the golden hues of trees expressing their divine design, and the tastes and scenes of autumn caused a great sense of gratitude to take over my emotions. Gratitude for breath and life and beauty all around us.
