Alan Dershowitz Says Hamas-Supporting Harvard Students Should be Treated Like the KKK (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

During a recent appearance on the Sean Hannity Show, Harvard professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz suggested that Harvard students who are showing support for Hamas should be treated like the KKK.

He said that people should not hire them and praised a UC-Berkeley professor who recently said the same thing.

Dershowitz’s point is that these people have the same position as neo-Nazis and he is right.

From Breitbart News:

“There should be no distinction between these neo-Nazis, the ones at Harvard, and the neo-Nazis who everybody would say that no nobody should employ. I admire the professor from Berkeley who said: Don’t hire my students. My students — I would say the same thing. Don’t hire my students. You know, these are people who don’t deserve to be hired, and more importantly, your clients don’t deserve to be serviced by bigots, racists and antisemites like this.”

Watch the video:

Dershowitz made a similar point in a piece for the New York Post:

Harvard must condemn pro-Hamas students — and reckon with its history of antisemitism

What, if anything, would Harvard’s president have said if a group of Harvard clubs blamed the lethal firebombing of a black church on the burned black children or the NAACP?

What if they blamed the shooting-up of a gay bar on the lifestyles of the murdered gay people?

We know what the reaction of university administrators would have been.

At the very least, they would have exercised their own freedom of expression to condemn these groups in the strongest terms…

It is no excuse to say the current Jew-hatred is directed at the nation-state of the Jewish people rather than at Jews as a group.

Hamas lynched, raped, beheaded and kidnapped Jews who lived in Israel.

It has murdered non-Israeli Jews in other parts of the world, and its charter is filled with anti-Jewish canards borrowed from the notorious antisemitic forgery “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”

This situation has turned into a public relations nightmare for Harvard and other schools.

The Ultimate Guide to Holiday Dressing

Take a closer look at festive attire.

Step into the vibrant world of festive attire, where choosing the right outfit can elevate your holiday experience. From Christmas parties to New Year’s Eve celebrations, your attire isn’t just about looking good. It’s about feeling part of the occasion with a dress or polished separates.

Imagine showing up to a black-tie event in casual wear–you’d not only feel out of place but also miss the chance to engage in the holiday magic fully. Each event has its own dress code, influenced by cultural and historical factors.

What is Festive Attire?[image error]This style of attire is all about having fun with your look. Photo: iStock

Festive attire is a dress code for celebratory events like holiday parties. It blends formal and casual elements, often incorporating seasonal colors and patterns to create a joyful, stylish look.

This versatile style can range from cocktail dresses to cozy sweaters, allowing for personal expression. It’s perfect for Christmas or New Year’s Eve.

The Dress Codes[image error]Explore holiday dress codes with ease, from casual get-togethers to black-tie galas. Photo: Reformation

Our guide aims to arm you with the knowledge and inspiration you need to navigate these dress codes effortlessly. Whether deciphering the subtleties of cocktail attire or seeking the perfect Hanukkah outfit, we’ve got you covered. Get ready to make a lasting impression with your impeccable festive style.

Formalwear: The Pinnacle of Elegance[image error]Step into the spotlight with formal gowns that make you shine. Photo: Banana Republic

Formalwear is the epitome of sartorial grandeur, often reserved for the most majestic evenings on your social calendar, from a wedding to an office party. Think of it as the Rolls-Royce of festive attire, where every detail counts.

Women can shine in either sumptuous gowns or meticulously tailored formal dresses. The fabrics often speak volumes, with silk, satin, and lace being popular choices.

The focus here is on timeless elegance, so think long hemlines, intricate beading, and perhaps a tasteful slit to add a dash of allure. Accessories should be equally refined. A clutch and a pair of stiletto heels usually complete the look. In this world, less is more, so opt for understated jewelry that complements rather than competes with your outfit.

Cocktail: The Art of Balanced Glamour[image error]Master the cocktail look with dresses that offer just the right mix of allure and refinement. Photo: Anthropologie

Cocktail attire allows you to flirt with the boundaries between casual and opulent. It’s the style equivalent of a gin and tonic: crisp, refreshing, and with just the right amount of kick. Women should aim for knee-length dresses that exude a sense of chic sophistication.

Fabrics like velvet or chiffon can add a touch of luxury, while a pair of killer heels can elevate the entire ensemble. Statement jewelry is your friend here, but remember, balance is vital. You’re aiming for a polished yet not overly formal look, so choose pieces that add flair without going overboard.

Office: The Intersection of Professional & Festive[image error]Learn how to strike the perfect balance between office-appropriate and holiday-ready with a cranberry-red suit. Photo: Banana Republic

Office parties during the holidays present a unique challenge: how to marry professionalism with festive cheer. You can opt for tailored pieces that exude a sense of authority while capturing the holiday spirit. A pencil skirt or trousers, silk blouse, and statement necklace can strike the right chord.

Alternatively, a fitted blazer over a festive top can be stylish and business casual-appropriate. Footwear should be elegant but comfortable, considering you might mingle with colleagues and superiors. The key here is to maintain a sense of decorum while allowing subtle hints of festivity to shine through.

Casual: The Freedom to Express[image error]Keep it laid-back in a Christmas sweater and jeans for casual moments. Photo: H&M

Casual, festive attire is your playground, a space where you can let your personality shine without the constraints of strict dress codes. You can embrace a more relaxed vibe, opting for anything from a cozy Christmas sweater paired with jeans to a simple yet chic wrap dress.

The emphasis is on comfort and personal style, so feel free to experiment with colors, patterns, and textures. Footwear can range from stylish flats to casual boots, and accessories can be as minimal or bold as you like. In this category, the rules are few, giving you the creative freedom to express your individuality.

Style Codes for Special EventsWhite Tie: Gala Elegance[image error]A red velvet gown is one way to bring some seasonal charm to a white-tie affair. Photo: Net-a-Porter

When it comes to white-tie events during the holiday season, you’re stepping into a world of unparalleled grandeur. This is the height of formality, where women are expected to don full-length evening gowns, often accompanied by opera-length gloves. Or buck tradition and make it modern in a tuxedo look.

The fabric choice here is non-negotiable. Only the most luxurious materials, like silk or satin, will do. Accessories are not just add-ons but integral to the white tie ensemble. Think heirloom-quality diamond or pearl jewelry.

Black Tie: Style & Sophistication[image error]Make a lasting impression with a long gown featuring a tulle skirt. Photo: Anthropologie

Black tie events during the holidays offer a formal framework yet allow for a bit of creative license. Women can opt for a full-length gown or a chic cocktail dress, depending on the event’s specific atmosphere and style preferences.

Fabrics like velvet or chiffon are acceptable and encouraged to add a seasonal touch. While accessories are essential, they should be chosen to complement rather than dominate your outfit. Think of a tasteful clutch and a pair of stiletto heels that add to your look without stealing the show.

Seasonal Color Palette: Capturing the Holiday Spirit Through Hue

For festive attire, color is more than just a visual element. It’s a language that can express the essence of the holiday season. The right palette can evoke a mood, resonate with a theme, or become a conversation starter.

[image error]A dark green color evokes the Christmas spirit. Photo: Anthropologie

For traditional Christmas gatherings, red and green are the go-to colors, but why not elevate your style by opting for more nuanced shades? Think cranberry red or forest green to add depth and sophistication to your look.

For Hanukkah celebrations, shades of blue and silver can beautifully reflect the Festival of Lights, while gold accents can add a touch of luxury.

[image error]For New Year’s Eve, get ready to shine in gold and silver hues. Photo: J. Crew

New Year’s Eve calls for sparkle and shine, making metallics like gold, silver, and even rose gold popular choices. These hues resonate with the festive atmosphere and add a layer of glamour to any outfit.

Remember the power of neutrals, too. A black dress can be a canvas for vibrant accessories, while whites and creams can evoke a winter wonderland, especially when paired with icy blues or metallics.

Guidelines on How to Decode and Adhere to Specific Dress Codes[image error]Crack the code on event attire, ensuring you’re always dressed to impress, from a mini to a maxi style. Photo: Reformation

Decoding specific dress codes can seem like cracking a code, but a few strategic moves can make it a breeze.

Start by examining the invitation closely. The words chosen can often guide you toward the appropriate outfit. If the invitation leaves you scratching your head, a brief conversation with the host will quickly dissolve the fog of uncertainty.Investigate the venue and the event’s theme. A luxurious hotel setting, for instance, usually signals a need for more formal attire.Aim for a look that’s a notch above casual when in doubt. It’s better to be slightly overdressed than to miss the mark and appear too relaxed.Incorporating Holiday Elements in Your Look

The devil is often in the details when it comes to holiday attire. Incorporating festive elements into your outfit can make a significant impact, adding that extra layer of holiday spirit. For example, a touch of sequins on a formal gown can shimmer beautifully under the lights, giving your look a dash of seasonal magic.

Clothing[image error]A plaid dress in red can get you into a festive spirit. Photo: Deposit Photos

In cocktail settings, a dress featuring a unique cutout or a pattern that resonates with the holiday-like snowflakes or stars-can add a thematic flair. A cozy sweater adorned with a festive design for casual gatherings can strike the perfect balance between comfort and seasonal style. Even a simple scarf in a holiday hue can infuse a neutral outfit with a festive vibe.

Shoes[image error]Statement heels with jewelry accents are perfect for festive holiday parties. Photo: Net-a-Porter

Footwear shouldn’t be overlooked as a vehicle for festive elements. Consider heels with a bow detail for a formal occasion or ankle boots with metallic accents for a more relaxed event. Your choice of hosiery can also bring in a festive touch, whether it’s tights in a bold holiday color or socks featuring a seasonal pattern.

Accessories[image error]Bring some holiday cheer to your outfit with Christmas tree earrings. Photo: Baublebar

Accessories provide another opportunity to weave in festive elements. Think earrings shaped like snowflakes, a green brooch resembling a Christmas tree, or a belt adorned with holiday-themed embellishments. These can serve as conversation starters and add a layer of holiday cheer to your look.

Unlocking Holiday Magic[image error]Silver sequins bring some shine to your turtleneck holiday ensemble. Photo: J. Crew

Stepping into the holiday season, festive attire becomes your passport to a world where culture, history, and personal style converge in a vivid tapestry. You’ve journeyed through the dress codes, from the opulent halls of white-tie events to the relaxed comfort of casual gatherings.

You’ve learned that your choice in fabric, color, and even footwear. As you prepare to celebrate, remember: your attire isn’t just about fitting in. It’s an intimate dance with the moment, adding layers of magic to each celebration. Decode the subtleties, embrace the seasonal elements, and let your outfit be the unseen guest at every holiday party.

GET WOKE, GO BROKE: Victoria’s Secret Going Back to Basics After Sales Plummet With Woke Ad Campaign Featuring Megan Rapinoe | The Gateway Pundit

Victoria’s Secret is learning a valuable lesson.

In 2021, the legendary lingerie chain announced a new ‘woke’ approach to branding and advertising featuring soccer player Megan Rapinoe as a brand ambassador.

Then something very predictable happened. Their sales plummeted. Now the company has announced that they’re going back to basics.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Victoria’s Secret goes back to basics after DEI marketing tanks sales

Lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret plans to withdraw its attempt at being more inclusive with its marketing , reverting to its original reputation in the wake of decreased sales.

The brand, known for hiring beautiful models, has tried to diversify its models over the past few years, including plus-size and transgender representatives. However, the rebrand attempt has not translated to increased sales , with the outlet’s projected revenue for this year at $6.2 billion, down by almost 20% compared to 2020’s $7.5 billion.

“Despite everyone’s best endeavors, it’s not been enough to carry the day,” Victoria’s Secret CEO Martin Waters said.

Part of the attempted rebrand included hiring Megan Rapinoe , an athlete and activist who has advocated transgender women competing in women’s sports, and Valentina Sampaio, who became the outlet’s first transgender model. In the wake of Sampaio’s hiring, Ed Razek, former chief marketing officer of Victoria’s Secret, resigned from the outlet.

Anyone could have told them that this appraoch wasn’t going to work.

In a stunning and innovative turn, Victoria’s Secret now decides that perhaps, prioritizing, attractive women might actually increase sales https://t.co/TpzVyEvIbn

I hope Victoria Secrets fires the idiots who thought DEI would sell more merchandise.

Apparently, Victoria’s Secret didn’t want to become the Bud Light of lingerie. Can they still turn this around or is it too late?

Chrome will soon correct your URL typos on iOS and Android

Google is rolling out a handy feature in its Chrome web browser that will pick up on typos and suggest web pages when you mis-type a URL.

We’ve all been in that annoying situation where we type out a lengthy web address on our phones, only to miss out or insert an incorrect letter. The resulting incomprehension from your chosen web browser feels downright odd, especially when a general search using the very same text field can produce almost telepathic responses.

Google is finally fixing that. In a blog post issued on Tuesday, Google confirmed that the detection of typos and website URL suggestions is now rolling out to Android and iOS. This follows the features initial introduction to Chrome on desktop back in May.

The company explains that “This will help people with dyslexia, language learners or anyone who makes typos get to the content they’re looking for faster.”

Indeed, this new Chrome feature was announced as one of a selection of new accessibility-focused features from Google. There’s also a new identity attribute for disabled-owned businesses in Google Maps, as well as clear wheelchair-accessible business indicators in Maps for Android Auto.

Google Maps is rolling out accessible walking routes, so you can request stair-free walking routes.

Elsewhere, Google is bringing fresh screen reader capabilities to Lens in Maps, which provide auditory feedback of the places around you for blind or low-vision users. Assistant Routines is becoming easier to use by those with cognitive differences and disabilities.

Finally, Google talks of a more accessible camera in its Pixel phones. The Magnifier app does exactly what its name suggests, letting you use the default camera app to zoom in on something as you would using a physical magnifying glass. It’s available now for the Pixel 5 and up, though the £1,749 Pixel Fold isn’t included. Awkward.

They have the perfect amount of compression — enough to keep you together but not a battle to get in to. They’re the perfect rise. They don’t go sheer. They don’t pill. They just work so well. The Hype: 4 out of 5 stars and 196 reviews on Zappos.com

Reviewers on Zappos seem to believe that they’ve found the legging gold standard in this classic pair from Hue. “Pretty much the gold standard in ‘basic’ leggings. These are TOTALLY opaque (nobody’s gonna see your underwear or anything else, even if you’re bending down), extremely comfortable (you might as well be wearing pajama pants, they’re truly that comfy), and the wide waistband is a godsend to all of us, let’s be honest,” one reviewer raves. “I feel like the waistband needs to be talked about, because I’ve worn other brands with wide waistbands that don’t work well for me […] You put that waistband right where you want it and it’s gonna stay there and hold you in and it will not ride up or down!”

Gap

The Lounge Legging

The Hype: 4.2 out of 5 stars and 31 reviews on Gap.com

Looking for a pair of leggings that are as basic as they come? Look no further. This tried-and-true Gap pair will have you buying more than one so you can wear them 24-7. “I own five pairs of these. Two are in constant rotation and three are back ups because I’m afraid Gap will stop making them. They are quite long which is no problem because I always wear them inside boots. I find they fit large overall, [so] I sized down. I take care not to wash them with anything cotton or light colored, and I *try* to hang them to dry after putting them through the machine. They are holding up very well. I highly recommend them as a basic style but really good legging,” writes one reviewer.” Yet, some reviewers are hesitant about the jersey knit fabric, as the fabric is not hot-weather approved. However, these leggings are quite different. “First time ordering these leggings from the gap and was skeptical about the material. [However], the material is great, super comfortable for everyday use regardless of the occasion! Definitely ordering more pairs and in the navy and grey! Overall super satisfied and would definitely recommend,” another reviewer shares.

Viv Collection

The “One Size Fits All” Legging

The Hype: 4.1 out of 5 stars and 6,409 reviews on Amazon.com

We understand. The idea of an item being one size fits all is skeptical. Yet, these Viv Collection’s snug high-waisted leggings feature an elasticized waist. That’s not all, as the waistband is wide and has a super strong tension, so you can easily go from rock climbing to walking your dog. Even better, the pair comes in a wide range of sizes, two different lengths, and whopping 14 colors. “I think after purchasing six pairs of these it’s time to offer some feedback on them. These leggings are amazing!!! I held off on trying them for such a long time and wish I [had] gotten them sooner!! They are soft and feel great. Even better than the ones [sold] on Facebook!! Some ppl don’t like the waistband but their yoga leggings have the wide waistband made of fabric is the elastic one is not your thing. They hold up well even after several washes. I never got a defective pair and I own six so far. Most are solid colored ones,” writes one reviewer. “I haven’t gotten random holes in them. They even withstood my kittens digging their nails into them. Which for me is the ultimate test LOL. Seriously though, they’re inexpensive, fit great (I got the regular fit not plus) and have a huge selection of colors and prints to choose from. For reference I have thick legs and thighs and usually wear M or L (depending on manufacturers) leggings.”

The Leather Zip Leggings

The Hype: 4.3 out of 5 stars, 18 reviews on SaksFifthAvenue.com

Legit leather leggings do not come cheap, but those who are devoted to the style and willing to fork over the cash seem like very happy campers to us. “I love the fit and feel of these leggings. I too, hesitated on getting them, thinking they were too pricey, but as I was trying them on I fell in love with them! They are super soft and comfortable,” another reviewer added. “These pants are perfect. They sit high enough on the hips and are a snug fit, but not too tight. The leather is good quality. I wasn’t sure about the zipper in the front based on another review, but I don’t have a problem with mine and they zip up great and stay put until I unzip them”

Vuori

The Compression Legging

The Hype: 4.7 out of 5 stars and 46 reviews on Vuori.com

These breathable but supportive leggings are made with extra elasticity and compression technology to help with muscle fatigue and blood circulation. These leggings are mostly cotton (which allows skin to breathe) and the 12% spandex is just the right amount for stretchability (comfort when moving). I’ve paid much more for similar products which were completely see-through. These are not at all that way. Also waistband doesn’t roll down,” writes one reviewer. “I was so afraid that my favorite leggings were discontinued…then I realized the name changed but the leggings were the same,” another reviewer shares. “I literally started living in these when I started working from home!! They fit great, nice and snug. They are thick and not see-through and I love the high waist!”

Lululemon

The Popular Legging

The Hype: 4 out of 5 stars and 4,313 reviews on Lululemon.com

Lululemon can take a good chunk of credit for kickstarting the athleisure trend. While not the most popular leggings from the brand, this pair has seen the most consistently positive reviews. “The Fast and Free tights are hands down my favorite and best tights Lululemon has to offer. [They] have a moderate compression around the waistband and an adjustable waist string to tighten during your runs. They are lightweight and feel like a second skin,” writes one reviewer. “I wear these tights for yoga, strength and conditioning, everyday wear, and for running. The side pocket is a great feature, especially when running, to hold your phone. I am 5’2 and the length of the tights fit me perfectly so I don’t have to get them hemmed. My only complaint about these tights is that darker colors will fade slightly and the light sheen will fade, but other than that I would recommend these tights to everyone.” Word to the wise: promptly add your favorite hue to your cart, as items can sell out fast. “Absolutely LOVE, LOVE these leggings! They feel like a second skin on! They look and make me feel great! I love wearing them out and about because I can put my key and phone and wallet if I want to be hands free wherever I go,” another reviewer shares. “Please restock. I’ve been so bummed they’ve been out of stock. Please keep the colors coming, I’ll buy them in every color.”

Uniqlo

The Classic Cool Weather Legging

The Hype: 4 out of 5 stars and 5 reviews on Uniqlo.com.

Uniqlo’s Heattech fabric comes in clutch during the cooler months. Wear them on their own to lounge at home or layer under trousers and denim when the icy temps roll in. “Highly recommend!! They are amazing in every way I have NO COMPLAINTS. I recently bought my bf a pair as well with the top. They don’t bunch up or ride up (no wedgies!). They are soft to the touch, lightweight but still able to block the cold from my legs. Will purchase more in the upcoming weeks,” writes one reviewer. One of the best perks about these leggings is that you can wear them to the office and then lounge in them when you go back home. “[The legging is] everything you want in WFH pants — comfy enough to lounge around at home, looks great enough to go out any time. It’s warm. It’s got pockets! What else could you wish for? Got these in both gray and black,” another reviewer shares.

The Compression (with Comfort) Legging

The Hype: 4.1 out of 5 stars and 141 reviews on OutdoorVoices.com

We frequently hear that Outdoor Voices’s midweight “textured compression” fabric is delightfully substantial for those times you want a little more structure in your leggings lewk. “Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the feel and fit with the perfect amount of compression. Stays in place for a good flow and inversions! I get so many compliments wearing them. I will be buying more,” writes one reviewer. “Love this product, and love this color way. I am on the verge of buying the full unitard as well. These leggings are INFINITELY more comfortable than OV initial iteration of leggings, and they are soft and thin- breathable but probably not the best for cold weather running, but that’s fine because I live in San Diego, AND they have pockets. 10/10 product. No complaints,” another reviewer shares.

If you’re of the “ride or die” variety when it comes to leggings, then you know they’re not just for daytime wear. These faux leather leggings are your Friday night’s new best friend. “I’ve been looking at these leggings for over a year! I wanted them but wasn’t sure I could justify the cost for ‘leggings’… seriously, don’t even think twice! They are amazing!! The can be dressed up or down so easily! They are so comfortable and really do compress/smooth in the right places!!! I immediately ordered the motto [sic] style the day these came because I love them so much! I am 5’ 5”, 140 lbs and ordered a medium! They fit great,” writes one reviewer. “I could even lift and stretch in these! Breathable as well! Spanx give great shape and DO NOT camel toe! No wrinkling/scrunching of that area! They do have more silvery sheen to them, and a waistband.” another reviewer shares.

Very flattering as well,” writes one reviewer. “I truly want to buy 5 more pairs of these leggings. I’m 5’9, but still struggle to find leggings that are the perfect length and don’t drag on the ground without a platformed shoe. These leggings are the perfect length while providing a slightly high-waisted style as well. Could not recommend more!! Better than Lululemon by far. The fabric is thicker and has better overall quality,” another reviewer shares.

Aerie

The Super Soft Legging

The Hype: 4.5 out of 5 stars and 935 reviews on AE.com

If you’re looking for leggings that are equally soft and stretchy, look no further.I wear leggings all year round and I try [pairs] from all over, but these leggings from Aerie are my #1 favorite. They dominate my closet and I LOVE them. I’m 5’ 1”, 125 lbs and the medium fits perfect on me. They aren’t see through and are so soft. I recommend these leggings to everyone as they are the best ones I have ever come across that are such a great price,” writes one reviewer. “I am 5’ 11” and 24 weeks pregnant with baby [number three]. I needed to find leggings to get me through the last half of pregnancy that weren’t too constricting, but also stayed put, sat lower than my belly and were long enough! These fit the bill! Can’t believe they actually go down to my ankles! And I don’t find them to be see through at all,” another reviewer shares.

The Best Budget Legging

The Hype: 4.4 out of 5 stars and 4,398 reviews on Amazon.com

Ballin’ on a budget? These under-$15 leggings on Amazon come with a plethora of rave reviews. “Soft, comfortable, flattering, and long-leg-friendly. I am 6′ and medium build with a 34″ inseam, and these hit right at the top of my ankle bone — a very satisfactory and versatile length for a legging. The fit is sleek in a good way, hugging curves without being either too-tight and revealing or too loose and baggy,” writes one reviewer. “I have the black color and it is dark and opaque enough to wear a more cropped shirt with if desired. No see-through sections at all. The waist is high, hitting right at my natural waistline. I’m partial to a high waist (and this is the point in the review where I out myself as a mom of five), but if you want a lower rise these may not be the leggings for you. Overall, I am very happy with these and would consider ordering additional pairs or colors. They replaced a pair of dying big-box store leggings and totally blew them out of the water in fit and quality, at the same price point.”

11 Nutrient-Dense Lunch Ideas From RDs| Well+Good

Breakfast gets all the attention as the most important meal of the day. And while I don’t want to take away from our morning meal that “breaks the fast” (eating early in the day certainly is important!), a mid-day meal is just as necessary to help sustain us until dinner.

But, for many people, lunch can be a curveball. Whether you’re working from home and find yourself snacking all day without a complete meal, or you simply don’t take the time to cook or prep lunch, this mid-day pick-me-up meal warrants more attention than we give it. After all, many of us who feel the afternoon slump could gain some energy just from eating a balanced lunch meal.

Experts In This Article

, registered dietitian Cara Harbstreet, MS, RD, LD, registered dietitian and founder of Street Smart Nutrition , registered dietitian nutritionist Eden Davis, RDN, registered dietitian nutritionist and co-owner of Pearl Wellness Lauren Manaker, MS, RDN, LD, registered dietitian and prenatal and postnatal health expert

Skipping lunches has been associated with a reduced intake of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, dairy, seafood, and plant protein, which can negatively affect health over time. Plus, people often consume more calories after dinner when skipping breakfast and/or lunch as the body plays “catch up.”

While our culture generally labels dinner as the largest meal of the day, some research has shown that consumption of a higher-energy lunch may result in favorable changes in weight loss and fasting insulin levels.

Time seems to be the name of the game when it comes to working lunches, so say goodbye to hours upon hours of meal prepping on Sundays because these nutrient-dense lunch ideas (all of which are registered dietitian-approved) can be ready in under 15 minutes.

Related Stories

Nutrient-dense lunch ideas RDs swear byGrain salad

This one is easy to customize based on your preferences or what’s in your pantry. Cook up your favorite grain (such as quinoa, brown rice, or farro), and then pile on a protein and veggies. To save time, use microwave grain options, like Seeds of Change, and a bag of frozen vegetables. Registered dietitian Eden Davis, RDN, recommends a quick meal with brown rice, salmon, edamame, and teriyaki sauce. “Within five minutes, I can chop up salmon into quarter-size pieces, toss in my favorite teriyaki sauce, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and place in the air fryer for 5 minutes before topping with frozen edamame to provide a dish rich in nutrients and a great energy boost.”

Rotisserie chicken salad

If you don’t have the time or patience to cook chicken, opt for a juicy rotisserie chicken that you can throw on nearly everything. Blend with mayo or Greek yogurt, and some spices and spread on sandwich bread or a wrap.

Rice and tuna bowl (chamchi doebbap)

This Korean-inspired dish uses a reheated base of white rice with canned or pouched tuna piled on top. An assortment of vegetables, such as matchstick carrots, kimchi, pickled onions, or radishes, is added on top. “This lunch fulfills my craving for flavorful vegetables, and a drizzle of kewpie mayo and gochujang creates a savory sauce with minimal effort,” says registered dietitian Cara Harbstreet, RD. “In the time it takes to microwave the rice and drain the can of tuna, you can have a satisfying lunch on the table.” Deobbap means “over rice” so any protein can be swapped for tuna, including salmon, leftover rotisserie or baked chicken, eggs, tofu, or shelled edamame.

Stuffed avocado or sweet potato

Take half of an avocado (or a cooked sweet potato), fill it with canned tuna or salmon, and season to your liking. You could also stuff it with cooked beans, rotisserie chicken, or lentils, and top it with cheese, herbs, nuts, or seeds. Serve alongside a salad or with your favorite crunchy veggies or crackers.

Sandwich

Perhaps the ultimate lunch staple, sandwiches can be a great mid-day meal. But, I challenge you to switch up your typical deli sandwich. Opt for some veggies on your egg and cheese sammy, use a spicy cheese with peppers in a grilled cheese chicken sandwich, or smash some chickpeas over a spread of avocado on your sandwich for an upgrade in fiber. You could also swap the bread out for a wrap, naan bread, or English muffin, or try out a new bread, like sourdough, focaccia, or potato bread.

5-minute fajitas

Dietitian Chelsea LeBlanc, RDN, is a fan of the quick fajitas for lunch. “Grab some corn tortillas, frozen fajita veggies, a can of rinsed black beans, and low-sodium taco seasoning,” she says. “Saute the fajita veggies in a little olive oil. Add the black beans and a sprinkle of taco seasoning to the skillet to warm. Add this fiber-rich mixture to the corn tortillas and top with your favorite add-ons like salsa, guac, and cheese.” This filling, budget-friendly lunch is ready in minutes.

Cottage cheese bowl

While cottage cheese may be having its moment right now, it certainly does make for an easy, accessible, high-protein lunch option that can be catered to sweet or savory taste buds. Along with protein, cottage cheese also offers bone-building calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin B12.

“My favorite savory option is a Greek cottage cheese bowl,” says Amy Beney, RD. “On top of a bowl of cottage cheese, I’ll add a mix of whatever veggies are on hand, including tomatoes, peppers, kalamata olives, cucumbers, and seasonings such as Greek, salt, and pepper, to make a super quick, nutrient-packed lunch for a working person.”

Lauren Manaker, RD, is also a fan of the quick and flexible cottage cheese bowl. “I’ll take ½ cup of cottage cheese and add any items from the fridge or pantry—pumpkin seeds, raisins, roasted chickpeas—really anything goes,” she says. “This dish also helps avoid food waste, as it welcomes the use of items that may be thrown away if it is close to their expiration date.”

FYI, Greek yogurt is a great swap for cottage cheese and also adds a boost of probiotics.

Burger quesadillas

Swap out the fast-food or delivery burger with a sweet potato turkey burger. Mashed sweet potatoes add extra antioxidants and fiber, as well as vitamins A and C. Microwave your sweet potatoes for 5–7 minutes, and then scoop out the flesh to mix in with the ground turkey or chicken, and cook for about 5 minutes on each side.

Chili

A fall favorite, chili can be customized just about any way you like. Combine some canned beans, onions, peppers, broth, and crushed tomatoes in a pan or instant pot and cook until flavors mesh. Opt for additional add-ins, like beef, chicken, pumpkin, or sweet potatoes. Throw some crackers on top for a satisfying crunch.

Snack lunch

Take the “girl dinner” Tiktok trend and apply it to lunch. The key is to make it filling and cover all the bases with macronutrients, like protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Mix and match with some of your favorite convenient protein options, such as deli meats, roasted chickpeas, or hard-boiled eggs. Pair them with some crackers, whole grain bread, fruits, or veggies, and add some flavorful fats, like olives, olive oil, cheese, Greek yogurt, nuts, or seeds.

Pasta salad

Pasta salad steals the show as a “picnic food,” but it can also be a fabulous lunch option. With a variety of pasta options available (from protein-enriched to plant-based to gluten-free), pair your favorite cooked pasta with any add-ins on hand—chicken, beans, tofu or seafood are all great options. This hummus pasta salad is a great inspiration. To save time, you could also use a microwaveable, quick-cooking pasta option, like Barilla Ready Pasta.

IDENTITY POLITICS: Katie Porter and Adam Schiff Urged to Drop Out of California Senate Race Because They’re White | The Gateway Pundit

Katie Porter and Adam Schiff are being urged to drop out of the race to replace Dianne Feinstein in the United States Senate because they’re white.

The suggestion was made in a column in the Washington Post this week.

This is the kind of divisive, racist garbage that has been advanced by the Democrat party for years now, so it’s quite ironic to see it being used against Porter and Schiff. Can you imagine this argument being made about a person of any other race?

reports:

Schiff, Porter urged to drop out of California Senate race because they’re White in name of ‘genuine equality’

White Democrats must drop out of California’s Senate race, or they aren’t actually committed to diversity, a guest essay in the Washington Post argued.

Democratic Reps. Katie Porter and Adam Schiff have already thrown their hat in the ring in the Senate race to fill the late U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat. But author and podcast host Steve Phillips urged them to step aside and allow U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif. a Black woman, to take the lead instead, to prove they “care about diversity.”

“Time and again it has been shown that Black women are the heart and soul of the Democratic Party. Democrats across the country agree that Black women are badly underrepresented in our nation’s leadership. Schiff and Porter are White; Lee is a Black woman. The right course is clear, isn’t it?” he wrote in his opinion column.

The White Democrats could show their “courage” and commitment to the party’s principles if they dropped out, he argued.

Doesn’t this seem kind of… racist?

Foolish column in today’s WP: “Schiff and Porter are White; Lee is a Black woman. The right course is clear, isn’t it…Schiff and Porter should step aside.”

So will @AdamSchiff and @katieporteroc drop out of the Senate race, as this Washington Post columnist suggests, in order to make way for a black female Senator?

Or do they not really believe in the “diversity” they supposedly champion?https://t.co/RDGBIzSj0I

TikTok challenges €345M EU fine and privacy compliance order

TikTok, the prominent video-sharing platform, is gearing up for a legal battle, according to a Bloomberg report, in response to a €345 million ($363 million) data privacy fine and a compliance order issued by EU regulators. The penalties came as a result of concerns over the protection of personal data belonging to teenage users.

Legal battle in the making

TikTok, a subsidiary of ByteDance Ltd., is refusing to accept this substantial penalty. The company has lodged an appeal in the European Union’s General Court challenging the fine. Additionally, TikTok is contesting a local order issued by its lead data regulator in Ireland. This local order calls for the removal of any “deceptive or manipulative” practices that could potentially undermine user privacy.

Probing child safeguarding practices

The €345 million fine comes after a thorough examination of TikTok’s child safeguarding practices. TikTok, known for its viral dance challenges and having over 1 billion users worldwide, is now under scrutiny, along with other social media giants, including Meta and Elon Musk’s X.

The European Union has issued warning letters to these platforms, demanding prompt action to combat the spread of disinformation.

What triggered the fine

The Irish Data Protection Commission imposed the €345 million fine on TikTok last month. The investigation revealed that TikTok had failed to protect minors against unnecessary data processing and lacked transparency. The probe focused on a five-month period from July 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020.

During this time, TikTok’s data processing practices were found to be in violation of GDPR rules, specifically those aimed at safeguarding children aged 13 to 17.

EU-wide concerns

While the Irish data watchdog is responsible for all TikTok investigations under GDPR, this particular breach had broader implications. Thus, the European Data Protection Board, a panel of European regulators enforcing data protection laws, had to approve the final decision.

TikTok intends to appeal the fine and compliance order, refraining from further comments. The European Data Protection Board and the Irish data watchdog have chosen not to comment on the ongoing legal proceedings.

The European panel, comprising representatives from 30 European countries, has expressed specific concerns about how TikTok encourages children to create public accounts and automatically makes their videos publicly accessible.

Final’s VR2000 in-earphones offers 3D audio performance for gamers

Japanese audio brand Final has unveiled the VR2000, a pair of wired in-earphones designed to work best for gaming and VR applications.

Price at £59.99 / $69.99 / €67.99, the VR2000 feature Final’s newly designed f-Core DU custom-made dynamic 6mm drivers to tune the headphones “to extract every detail from your digital surroundings”.

The headphones have been designed to provide a “spatial listening experience” with a vast soundstage and, according to Final, the ability to hear each and every sound “individually separated with absolutely clarity”.

It’s this level of clarity and separation that Final says lends itself to gaming, in particular to those who play competitively in areas such as e-Sports. The idea being that the player is ale to react in-game quicker by being able to hear and notice these sounds within the soundstage that the VR2000 is able to deliver.

The f-Core DU driver features completely redesigned driver parts from the original, covering the diaphragm, voice coils, magnets, magnetic circuits and more.

Further developments include changes to the housing design for a more comfortable fit, with the shell made from ABS plastic to provide durability, the OFC cable covered in a tough and flexible coating and there’s an in-line three button control with a microphone built-in for online gaming, streaming and taking calls.

Free People Bestselling Pippa Packable Puffer Review

“Normcore style has been great for my chunky, clunky shoe collection and approaching-vintage Nalgene bottle, but at first blush, this didn’t feel like a fashion-forward athleisure pick. But as I wore the jacket around the house, I realized something. A few Christmases ago, my dad, who wears hiking shoes and fly fishing pants to the office, gifted all of us a super-fancy, down alternative outer layer very similar to the one from Free People. Thin, lightweight, crazy warm. But it was ABSOLUTELY designed for performance in real outdoor adventures like hiking or skiing. For serious outdoor activity, it makes total sense: You want to be able to layer it, pack it tightly, and not have loose-fitting layers in subzero conditions. But I’ve never wanted to don that jacket to, say, run to the store or the gym. It’s just SO sleek and form-fitting it’s kind of a pain to put over bulky, everyday shirts or sweaters and it makes me feel like I should be heading to Everest, not CVS.
