Help stop the flood

Have you ever wondered why you were born and why you lived in the places you did? God formed you and knit you together in your mothers womb (Psalm 139:13). He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward Him and find Him (Acts 17:26-27). God knows the plans and purposes He has for you (Jeremiah 29:11).

God created us so that we would seek Him and find Him. He set boundaries, placing us here, now, for such a time as this. Where we are, where we have been, and even the difficulties in our lives all have an eternal purpose and plan. God has placed each of us in the body of Christ to be used where He puts us in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:18).

A story is told about a little Dutch boy who saved his village from a flood by sticking his finger in a leaking levee. In Ezekiel 22:30 we read where God said that He searched for a person who would build up a wall and stand in the gap before Him for the land, so that He would not destroy it; but He found no one.

The enemy wants us to stay so busy and distracted by what is going on in our lives, or around us, that we arent paying attention to where God has placed us and the calling He has for us.

Therefore, walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called (Ephesians 4:1-3).Stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles, run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before you, looking away from all that will distract you and focus your eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).

The world is leaking, the dam is bursting, because many are not standing in the gap before the Lord.

Please don’t be distracted. Be faithful where you are, for you are here for such a time as this. Walk and run your race, for you are part of Gods wonderful design and plan.

For God delivered us and saved us and called us with a holy calling [a calling that leads to a consecrated lifea life set aparta life of purpose], not because of our works [or because of any personal meritwe could do nothing to earn this], but because of His own purpose and grace [His amazing, undeserved favor] which was granted to us in Christ Jesus before the world began [eternal ages ago] (2 Timothy 1:9, AMP).

Remember the power

I wonder what would happen if we truly understood the power of prayer and the power of praise. Oh, if we only knew, understood, and used the blessings of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.

Do we know the power of our supernatural weapon? Do we dare to use it with the authority of a faith that commands as well as asks? God baptize us with holy audacity and divine confidence! He is not wanting great men, but He is wanting men who will dare to prove the greatness of their God. But God! But prayer! ~ A. B. Simpson

The Psalmist tells us the power of praise and thanksgiving invites us into Gods courts (Psalm 100:4-5).

The power of praise defeats the enemy. I love the story about the Israelites who were going into battle. They sent the praise and worship team out front to praise God, and God defeated their enemies (2 Chronicles 20:22).

James tells us that prayer is powerful, dynamic, and effective (James 5:16).

The power of prayer sets the prisoner free. While Peter was in prison, the believers met to pray fervently for his release. And an angel of the Lord came to set Peter free (see Acts 12:5-16).

The power of praise sets the prisoner free and not only sets free those who are praying and praising but also has a mighty domino effect. There is GREAT power in praise beyond what we can imagine or conceive. Paul and Silas were beaten and thrown in prison, and yet they praised God singing hymns and praising. God sent an earthquake, shaking the prison. The doors flew open, and the chains of the prisoners fell off. And then, the jailer and all his household were saved (Acts 16:25-34).

So many of us limit our praying because we are not reckless in our confidence of God. In the eyes of those who do not know God, it is madness to trust Him, but when we pray in the Holy Ghost we begin to realize the resources of God, that He is our perfect heavenly Father, and we are His children. ~ Oswald Chambers

Prayer and thanksgiving bring peace. Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours] (Philippians 4:6-7, AMP).

Remember the power of prayer.

Remember the power of praise.

Remember the power of thanksgiving.

Remember the power of your all-powerful God.

Prayer should be the breath of our breathing, the thought of our thinking, the soul of our feeling, and the life of our living, the sound of our hearing, the growth of our growing. Praying in its magnitude is length without end, width without bounds, height without top, and depth without bottom. Illimitable in its breadth, exhaustless in height, fathomless in depths, and infinite in extension. ~ Homer W. Hodge

Heavenly Father, praise You! Thank You for who You are and all that You do! Thank You for sending Jesus to save us. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You that we can come to You and talk with You. Thank You for the incredible blessing of prayer. Help me to remember to come to You to talk with You, listen to You, and spend time with You.

Gods Timeless Truth

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving. For, The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry (Colossians 4:2, NASB), (Psalm 34:15, NASB).

Therefore, pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests (Ephesians 6:18, NIV).

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations (Psalm 100:4-5, NKJV).

The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by Godit is dynamic and can have tremendous power] (James 5:16, AMP).

Shine like the SON

I awakened to the worries of the world. So much evil, so many difficulties, racial tension, political issues, people issues, and the news reporting every bit of bad news they can find. Frustration set in as I thought about how the media distorts and manipulates leaning their reports to meet their agendas.

But then I looked out the window, and through the trees, a golden glow illuminated the morning sky.

sunrise-1

sunrise-092126

I watched awestruck and blessed as the glory of the Lord colored the heavens. Oh yes, God is still in control. Oh yes, good things are happening as the Lord continues to work. God is great, mighty, powerful, and glorious.

The world is darkening, but Gods light is never dimmed, and for those of us who have Christ in our hearts, His light will always shine. Oh,lets shine like the SON. Lets allow our lights to shine. Lets illuminate the earth and the sky with the glory of the Lord.

Report the good news to the world and shine the light of Christ. Oh can you imagine if we all truly shined our SON lights? Oh the world would be illuminated with the beauty and truth of Gods love.

Shine, shine, shine, shine like the SON!

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. ~ Matthew 5:16 (NASB)

the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day. ~ Proverbs 4:18 (NASB)

The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them. ~ Isaiah 9:2 (NASB)

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. ~ Isaiah 60:1-2 (NASB)

Come to the Manger

Soft and quiet, nine months in the womb, infinite born to bring infinite grace to the finite. Joy split the sky open as angels sang of amazing grace-filled glory. Gods love moved to allow man to move into Gods love. The Good News from heaven bringing good news to all mankind.

A babe in swaddling clothes, divine in humanity to grant humanity access to the divine. The cry of The Word became flesh. Tiny hands that once held the universe, earth-bound to dwell among men. His birth birthing eternal life. Hope in humanity bringing hope to all humanity. Jesus, Immanuel, God with us, to bring God to us.

The manger built by a carpenter to hold the carpenters son, cradles the cradle of life. A feeding trough for those who are hungry holds the bread of life for hungry souls. The manger, an ark to carry The One who will carry us through the rough waters of life.

The shepherds hurried to the manger to see The One spoken of by the angels.

The Wise Men traveled far to worship and bring gifts to the long-awaited Messiah.

No matter how long youve waited, come.

No matter how long its taken, come.

Come to the manger. Come to the Messiah.

Bring yourself, your gifts, and your worship. Whatever youve been through, whatever you face, whatever your heartache and pain, bring to the manger. For the manger is new life, hope, joy, and new beginnings.

Whatever is in your heart, bring to The One who made your heart. Lay down every burden, forGods love waits in the manger.

Will you come?

The Messiah, the Savior in the manger, moves into your heart so you are never alone, never forsaken, never without hope, never without joy, never without peace, never without life eternal.

Please come

Come to the Manger

Mary gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased. When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us. So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger. ~ Luke 2:7-16 (NASB)

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. ~ John 3:16 (NASB)

Rocking the rest

1 Samuel reports that Saul searched for David every day to kill him. However, God did not hand David over to him. At one point Saul, in hot pursuit of David, was on one side of a mountain and David on the other. But a messenger reported to Saul that the Philistines had raided the land, so Saul broke off his pursuit of David and returned to engage the Philistines. Therefore, that place was called the rock of separation (1 Samuel 23).

As Christians, we live in enemy territory with an enemy out to steal, kill, and destroy. However, our Savior, Jesus Christ, is The Rock. The Lord God says this, Listen carefully, I am laying in Zion a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone for the [secure] foundation, firmly placed. He who believes [who trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone] will not be disturbed or give way [in sudden panic] (Isaiah 28:16, AMP). The GNT translation reads, Faith that is firm is also patient.

So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages] (Isaiah 26:4, AMPC).

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. There is no one holy like the Lord, There is no one besides You, There is no Rock like our God. For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? (Psalm 18:2, NKJV; Psalm 18:31, NKJV; 1 Samuel 2:2, AMP).

For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; my fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged. On God my salvation and my glory rest; He is my rock of [unyielding] strength, my refuge is in God (Psalm 62:5-7, AMP).

Thank You, Lord that You are my rock. Help me to rest in the rock of Your unchanging, steadfast love.

Praying for lost ones

Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth (Psalm 54:2). Heavenly Father, You are the God who sees (Genesis 16:13). You are the God who hears (Psalm 4:3). You are the God who is faithful to the generations of the righteous (Psalm 100:5). Oh, God I ask for Your mercy and kindness to be poured out on our children, their children, our families, and beyond (Psalm 112:1-2).

God please open the eyes of the ones who have run from You. Open the eyes of the wayward that they will find You, for You are The Way. Open their ears to hear You.

Father, I pray for Your spirit of wisdom, revelation, and knowledge may be poured out on them. I pray that the eyes of their heart may be enlightened so that they will know the hope of Your calling and the riches of the glory of Your inheritance, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward those who believe (Ephesians 1:17-19).

Jesus, You are the Son of Man who came to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). Save them, Lord.

God, You search for the lost sheep and joyfully bring them home. You search for that which was lost and rejoice when found. Oh Father, joyfully bring home my lost loved one (Luke 15:3-9).

Thank You, Lord that You hear my voice and my cry (Psalm 116:1), Psalm 34:17). Thank You that nothing is impossible for You! (Luke 1:37). Thank You that one day we will rejoice along with the angels when our loved ones come home (Luke 15:10).

I ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, who is my Savior. Amen.

Our loved ones may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our personsbut they are helpless against our prayers. ~ J. Sidlow Baxter

Praising prayer for peace

God how I praise You. You are holy, kind, compassionate, gracious, loving, and merciful. Thank You that You love me with an everlasting love and have drawn me with loving-kindness (Jeremiah 31:3). You created my inmost being and knit me together in my mothers womb. (Psalm 139:13). You know the numbers of hair on my head and You have engraved me on the palms of Your hands (Luke 12:7, Isaiah 49:16).

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet Your unfailing love for me will not be shaken nor Your covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has compassion on me (Isaiah 54:10). You are with me and are mighty to save. You take great delight in me; You will quiet me with Your love and rejoice over me with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17). You will make known to me the path of life and in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever (Psalm 16:11).

You, God, are gracious and righteous and full of compassion (Psalm 116:5).You take delight in me; and crown the humble with salvation (Psalm 149:4). In Your unfailing love You will lead me. In Your strength You will guide me to Your holy dwelling (Exodus 15:13). For Your eyes search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to You (2 Chronicles 16:9a).

You know the plans You have for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. When I call upon You and come and pray to You, You will listen to me. I will seek You and find You when I seek You with all my heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13). Before I call You will answer; while I am still speaking You will hear (Isaiah 65:24).

Your unfailing love is priceless and we find refuge in the shadow of Your wings. (Psalm 36:7) You are love (1 John 4:16). And Your perfect love is patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, its not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Your love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

Thank You, God, that You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast, that is, committed and focused on Youin both inclination and character, because he trusts and takes refuge in You with hope and confident expectation. For the Lord gives unyielding and impenetrable strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace (Isaiah 26:3, Psalm 29:11).

You so greatly loved and dearly prized the world, that You even gave Your One and only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him as Savior will not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). Jesus You invite, Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person and they with Me (Revelation 3:20). You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through You (John 14:6). Thank You, Jesus, for Your sacrifice in place of my sins so that I can be saved and have an abundant life. (John 10:10). Therefore, My heart has heard You say, Come and talk with Me. and my heart responds, LORD, I am coming (Psalm 27:8).

Thank You, Jesus that in You I have perfect peace and confidence. In the world there are tribulations, trials, distress, and frustration; but I can be of good cheer, take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted. For You have overcome the world, deprived it of power to harm me and have conquered it for us (John 16:33).

Jesus, thank You that You are with me always, remaining with me perpetuallyregardless of circumstance, and on every occasion, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20b). You will give me rest. You will ease and relieve and refresh my soul. You give Your perfect peace. Therefore, I dont need to let my heart be troubled, nor afraid. Your perfect peace will calm me in every circumstance and give me courage and strength for every challenge (Matthew 11:28, John 14:27).

Therefore, I dont need to be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything, every circumstance and situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, I will continue to make my specific requests known to God. And the peace of God, that peace which reassures the heart, that peace, which transcends all understanding will stand guard over my heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

Thank You, Jesus, that You sit at the right hand of God interceding for me. And nothing will separate me from Your love not tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord (Romans 8:34-35, 38-39).

Therefore, In peace and with a tranquil heart I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust (Psalm 4:8).Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant me His peace (the peace of His kingdom) at all times and in all ways under all circumstances and conditions, whatever comes (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

Praise You, God. I bring this prayer to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your precious Son and my Savior. Amen.

Mind wash

The memory pounced, blindsided, and left me reeling. I stood, trying to regain my thoughts.

Painful memories cant be changed, I cant alter what happened, and at times they leave me heartbroken and heart-sick. Oh, I need a mind wash. I need to forget that terrible thing that happened, that moment when my loved one took their final breath, the final cry I heard, the hurtful words that were said, the phone call that rocked my world. Oh, I need a mind wash!

Satan wants us to think we cant fix the thoughts, that they will always torment, and well never be able to firmly stand, heal, and move forward. The devil wants our focus to stay on the negatives that happened, the sins we committed, and the terrible thing weve seen, done, or experienced.

How do we get those thoughts under control, stand firm, heal, and move forward?

Run to The Truth. Nothing is impossible for God, nothing is too hard for Him, and His love is pure, holy, and unfailing. Gods perfect love drives out fear all fear fear of that bad memory, fear of those bad thoughts.

The enemy wants the focus to stay on the bad things instead of focusing on God who makes all things new, who causes all things to work together for good. Satan is the destroyer, but Jesus is the restorer.

Jesus came to release captives, bring sight to the blind, and set free those who are oppressed. We dont have to stay bound by the enemy, we dont have to be blinded by Satans lies that we can never be free or healed, Jesus sets us free from oppressive thoughts, and free from the memories that seek to destroy us. Through the power of Christ that lives within us, we take thoughts and memories captive.

We have been given the mind of Christ, a mind well-balanced and controlled by the Spirit, and the mind set on the Spirit is life. The Holy Spirit breathes Christs life within us, the mind of Christ within us, giving us the ability to reason, stand firm, and heal by the power of Christ.

When thoughts or memories come to mind, remember your mind is not defenseless. Christ who lives within you has all power and authority; you are never unprotected. Ask Him who makes all things new, to give you a new thought to replace that one, ask the Lord to replace the thought with His truth, His healing, and His restoration.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing love. Thank You that nothing is impossible for You. Oh, Father the enemy is trying to distract me with thoughts that bring heartache and pain. Father, You care for Your children and Your love is perfect, so please in Your tender mercies and Your pure love, replace those thoughts with Your truth and Your healing.

Behind the darkest storm, the Son always shines, and Father, Your Son lives within me. Thank You that He sets me free and in Your perfect love I have nothing to fear. Help me to replace bad thoughts with thoughts of You and Your love. Thank You that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Thank You that evil will be punished, and no weapon forged against me will prosper.

Grant me the ability to think beyond the past to remember the amazing present and future I have with You. Thank You that my loved ones who passed away, their last breath here on earth was the first breath into eternal life. Help me to think on that which is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, things of good repute, excellence and worthy of praise.

Please give me a visual of You standing in the way of that memory and any thought the devil brings to mind. Heavenly Father, in the pureness of You and Your love You wash me clean, You remove the stains of the enemys fingerprints, You remove the stain of sin, You set me free! Praise You, Lord!

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. ~ 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. ~ Romans 8:28 (NASB)

Jesus read from Isaiah, The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord. ~ Luke 4:18-19 (NASB)

Jesus said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. ~ Matthew 22:37 (NASB)

There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love. ~ 1 John 4:18 (NET Bible)

For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. ~ Romans 8:6 (NASB)

For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to advise him? But we have the mind of Christ. ~ 1 Corinthians 2:16 (NET Bible)

for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down arguments and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ. We are also ready to punish every act of disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete. ~ 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NET Bible)

And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. ~ Romans 12:2 (AMP)

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. ~ Philippians 4:6-8 (NASB)
