I enjoy traveling and try to take in the landscape and some historical details wherever I go. This generally helps me with the setting, while it may not be on this planet or dimension or whatever, it is likely to have been first experienced somewhere real. People form another main inspiration for the characters. My wife is the basis for a principle character in Emancipar and To Use a Gun No More. Another inspiration is music. I use the music to pace a scene or to evoke an emotional response from me, which I then put into the writing.(less)

It’s Christmas time again. And right now I am sitting in the kitchen, which is lit by dozens of little twinkle lights on a copper strand. I have to say of all the decorations lights remain one of my favorites. The lights shine out against the dark. They glow with many colors and cause smiles to break out.
