Some reading and listening for the weekend

Now that I’m listening to so many audible books and podcasts, it’s taking a long time to gather links for reading, but I can recommend podcast episodes very easily.

That said, there are a few links I want to share for your weekend reading:

Are you a time optimist?

Have you signed up for the What’s Next workshop yet?

************************

Time optimism | www.OrganisingQueen.com

One of the main reasons people approach me for help is because they’re not getting around to doing all they want to do, and think that they should be able to do.

I have women who think they should be able to work full-time, go to the gym 5 days a week, cook from scratch every day, spend hours reading with their kids every day and spend an hour a day on their own hobbies.

It’s not going to happen unless they don’t...

I’ve been holding out on you…

Have you signed up for the What’s Next workshop yet?

At the beginning of the year I showed you my 2015 diary.

My 2015 diary |www.OrganisingQueen.com

I wasn’t sure if it would work for me since I’ve had a good few years with my Legami (which I loved… still love, if I’m to be honest).

And it worked for a while but my things kept falling out of it and it seemed just a smidge too narrow.

Then I received an Exclusive Books voucher for my birthday (in August) and while I no longer buy “real” books, I most defin...

What’s up next for you?

I ran two workshops at the start of this year. They were called Let’s Do This and we talked about vision, values, core desired feelings, goals and intentions, and words for the year.

Now, 8 – 9 months have passed and the time feels right to take stock before the end-of-year craziness happens, and then 2016 goals and intentions start again.

Which leads me to What’s Next? – a taking stock workshop

This is a workshop from the comfort of your own home!

What's next workshop?

I’ve been following the Konmari method of t...

Do you have enough white space in your life?

It’s essential to have some white space in our lives. I define white space as room to breathe. Breathing room is something that seems to be lacking in many of our lives and is the reason why many of us feel rushed, stressed and overwhelmed.

If you’re feeling frazzled and like there’s never enough time, it could be a signal that you don’t have enough white space in the following three areas of your life:

Weekly planning – setting yourself up for success

Okay, let’s talk about preparing for the week ahead.

I’ll share what I do and hopefully, that sparks one or two ideas for you too.

My weekly prep actually happens in 3 parts:

IMG_8110

1. Decide on personal and business goals for the week ahead.

This step happens on Thursday evenings when Beth and I have our accountability chats.

I started a new step to this process about 3 – 4 weeks ago where I actually write those individual tasks in my notebook so I know when I’m supposed to do them over the course...

An interview with Cassey, an ESFJ, about Konmari

Cassey was one of the respondents of my little Konmari survey. I wanted to feature her because like all of us (some of you think I’m different but I’m not), she’s a normal mom with a toddler sorting out her house.

I hope this brings some weekend inspiration your way :)

1.What is your MBTI type? If you’re not sure, take the test here.

ESFJ-T according to the site you suggested.

2.What drew you to the book?

I was just ready for a change, to do something instead of nothing.

Myers Briggs and the Konmari method

This is post number 1600 – I love round numbers – and how fitting that it’s about one of my favourite subjects, personality profiles :)

My kids, going through their DVDs….it wasn’t a very successful exercise. Apparently everything brought them joy :)

Long-time readers will know that Beth and I are accountability partners.

Since 2006!!!!

I remember that date because I was in Thailand when I sent her the email agreeing to the idea :)

I think our relationship works for many reasons but one of the ma...

{Lovely stationery find} Metallic markers

Guys, next week I’m writing about MBTI and Konmari, and I can’t wait to wrap up the series.

So today I decided to show you a gorgeous stationery find.

I do have the gift of spotting anything new and funky in the stationery aisles…..

I’ve shown you Rolfes metallic markers before; these ones are from Staedtler. I like the Staedtler ones more because they seem to have a thinner point (but both are 1.2 mm) but my 6-year-old, Kendra, still loves the Rolfes ones more (maybe because the pink is spar...
